Eyes on the meeting, Wayne.
Sitting through a Justice League meeting was already boring enough.
Sitting through it while Damian Wayne kept staring at her like she was the only thing in the room that mattered?
Infuriating.
Cassie shifted in her chair, arms crossed, staring straight ahead, doing her best to pretend she did not feel his gaze burning into her soul.
The Watchtower’s main conference hall was filled with some of the most powerful people in the world—Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, The Flash, and of course, their parents.
Hal sat beside her, looking as serious as ever while discussing some intergalactic nonsense with the League. Cassie should have been paying attention.
But how could she, when Damian freaking Wayne refused to stop looking at her?
She could feel it.
Every time she stole a glance, his eyes were already on her—sharp, focused, like she was some kind of puzzle he was trying to solve.
Cassie forced herself to keep a neutral expression.
She was not going to give him the satisfaction of a reaction.
On her other side, Stella and Natalia were silently communicating—which meant trouble.
Natalia raised an eyebrow. Are you seeing this?
Stella, looking deeply unamused, gave a slow, exasperated nod. Unfortunately.
Natalia smirked. Do we say something?
Stella narrowed her eyes. Do I look like I want to deal with this?
Cassie clenched her jaw. She knew exactly what they were doing, and she refused to acknowledge them.
Because if she did, they’d know.
And she couldn’t give them that.
Not after what had happened in the training room.
Not after Damian had pulled her down and kissed her like he had all the time in the world.
Not after he had whispered in her ear like he knew exactly what he was doing to her.
Cassie refused to react.
And yet—
Across the table, Damian smirked.
Like he knew.
Cassie gritted her teeth.
Natalia barely contained her laugh.
Stella sighed into her hands.
This was going to be a long meeting.
