Happy birthday Carla
Carla had a restless night she had told her girlfriend to go off to the flat and spend time with Betsy, Lisa obviously objected as she didn't want to leave her side. Seeing the look on the blondes face her eyes were baggy looked as if she hadn't been sleeping well and she wanted to put her first so she told the detective to go back to the flat make a bag of wash stuff for her and told her to come back in the morning as much as Lisa tried to protest Carla was very stern with her. She told the detective that she has her mobile and she will face time her later that night. After agreeing Lisa had gone back to the flat only Betsy wasn't there but there was a note from her saying that she was staying over at the old place with Ryan as they had already boxed a lot up ready to be transported to the flat. Lisa sent out a message to her daughter telling her that she loved her and that she would call her in the morning. Carla was right she tired and she had to be strong for her so after taking off her jacket and placing it over the sofa she finally felt the weight lifted off her feet as she took off her boots and padded through to their bedroom and over to the en-suite bathroom to run herself a hot bath, she only wished that Carla was with her to join her. While her bath was being filled she went over to the bedroom and stripped off to her underwear and placed her clothes into the basket by the door ready to be put in the wash. She went over to the top drawer of her side of storage and took out a vest and shorts and placed them onto the bed.
Checking on the bath she grabbed a bottle of bubble bath and started to pour the liquid in the bath and swirled her hand into the hot but not too hot water to let the mixture bubble. When there was enough water in the bath she turned the taps off and went into the bedroom she unhooked her bra and smiled as she remembered the day that Carla came back and told her not to get dressed.
Flashback
"Don't". Called out the factory boss as she stood by the door of the flat while juggling with her keys.
"Don't what". Came the blondes reply as she looked deeply as their eyes met just like they did when they had their moment which resulted in a walk out from the detective.
"Don't get dressed". The brunette replied as she placed her keys onto the counter and made her way over to the blonde who she was starting to have feelings for.
Lisa looked deep into her eyes as Carla took her face in her hands and planted her lips against hers without a thought when their lips parted Carla waited for the response as to carry on or if the blonde
would back away and walk out yet again but she instead she got her approval to kiss her again which this time Lisa kissed her back and for several minutes enjoying their kissing before breathlessly pulling apart but not letting go of each other. Carla smiled at Lisa as she took hold of her hand Lisa had a look of surprise on her face as she was being pulled into the bedroom. Standing at the end of the bed standing in front of each other Carla started to unbutton Lisa's silk blouse as she did Lisa started to unravel Carla's leopard print scarf when Lisa's blouse was open Carla looked over at the garment which was covering her flesh and ran her hands over her front.
Lisa- Are you sure you want this? She said as she placed her fingertips under Carla's chin so that their eyes met.
Carla- I do...You have no idea how long I've wanted to kiss you to feel you against my skin...But I just don't know what to do, what if i can't please you because it's my first time.
Lisa- You Carla Connor are gorgeous, you just do what you feel like doing. She smiled at her as Carla pushed the blouse over the blondes shoulders and letting it drop to the floor.
Carla- You sure you want this too?
Lisa- Since our moment i didn't think we'd be here now, I'm surprised.
Carla- I think I've surprised myself. She replied biting down on her bottom lip as she took hold of the silk garment from the bottom and as she started to lift it up her body Lisa lifted her arms up and
allowed the garment to be removed.
Lisa- I hate to be the only one showing flesh..
Carla- Well Detective Swainy...You had better do something about it. She replied smirking at the blonde. She wasted no time on removing Carla's clothing, she first started with her jacket which with help from the brunette shrugged it off her shoulders allowing it to fall with a thud on the floor.
Lisa- Hope i didn't break your phone Ms Connor.
Carla- Fuck the phone it's got a cover on it accidental damage covers. She replied her eyes not leaving the blondes lips.
Lisa- You're such a good kisser..Maybe you would like to try it again. She told the brunette as she removed her shirt unbuttoning every button as she didn't want to risk ripping it open, they had all the time in the world to take things at a steady pace. Becky was the only person that she had been intimate with but since her passing she was scared to open up on being with another woman it was always her and looking after her daughter but since Carla came onto the scene she was drawn to her.

She walked nakedly into the bathroom taking her phone as she did with a wicked smile on her face she stood by the bathtub and went to her camera on her phone and took a snap of her naked body sitting on the edge of the bathtub and put a little caption on the photo "Only wish you were here to wash my back xxx" then she hit Carla's contact and hit send. She placed the phone on the counter by the bath and got into the hot water as she did she slid down as she laid back with her eyes closed she sighed happily in relaxation, Carla was right she needed this but she did miss her girlfriend. Her mobile vibrated so she opened her eyes and leaned out of the tub grabbing her phone she had the reply back from Carla and smiled.
Carla- Oh baby you're so hot...I had to get one of the nurses to check my blood pressure just by looking at the photo..Then i had to call for assistance as she accidently saw your photo. xx

An hour had passed and Lisa was out of the bath and in Carla's robe which she had already claimed as hers, as she wrapped it around her body she went over to the fridge and pulled out the wine bottle and glass and headed back into the bedroom and got into bed as she did she took hold of Carla's pillow and took hold of her phone from the nightstand and waited for her to call. She was just looking through some photos of her and Carla she really has found the one that makes her happy when she wasn't even looking. Then the call came through which made her nearly drop her phone when it vibrated. She smiled when she saw her girlfriend's face pop up.
Carla- Hello my love..It's so good to see you...How are you feeling?
Lisa- After that bath I feel relaxed although I'm in this big bed and i have to sleep alone.
Carla- I'd be there if i could, you know that.
Lisa- I know and just to say that photo i sent you, I've never done that before. She told her girlfriend as she smiled down shyly
Carla- Well I love what i saw i only wish i could have been with you in that bath and be with you right now holding you in our bed holding you close. She sighed unhappily.
Lisa- Just do as the nurses say and you'll be out with us both soon.
Carla- Will you be back in the morning in case i get my results.
Lisa- You try and stop me darling.
Carla- Where's Betsy can i say goodnight to her?
Lisa- She's at a sleepover I'm all alone.
Carla- Well you just enjoy your alone time because when i get out of here we'll be catching up on more than just talking right? She winked at her girlfriend.
Lisa- Don't get me work up Ms Connor.
Carla- Don't worry I'll save that for when i get out of here...You get some sleep.
lisa- I love you. She told her girlfriend with a yawn.
Carla- I love you too.
Lisa- Will you stay on until i fall asleep?
Carla- Of course darling. She said as she rolled onto her side and holding up her phone as she tried to get as comfy as possible and watched as her girlfriend closed her eyes.
When Carla had awoke the next day she got up to use the toilet as she didn't want to use the bedpan she could go by herself as she told the nurse. Once she got back on her way back she approached the desk to the nurse who was looking out for her and asked if her results had come through yet which she was told they would get back from the lab later today. She had requested that she didn't find out not until tomorrow. The nurse smiled and wished her a 'Happy birthday'. Carla looked at the nurse before sighing and heading back to her room but replying over her shoulder as she went back with a 'Thanks, no place I'd rather be than in this place'. The nurse shook her head and went back to whatever she was doing at the computer.
Lisa awoke bright she was just about to head out of the door when Betsy opened the door and walked in. Betsy smiled for her as did Lisa and immediately went to hug her mum.
Betsy- Morning mum.
Lisa- Morning darling, you okay?
Betsy- Yeah..Are you okay? She replied as she got out of her mum's hold and placed a card on the counter.
Lisa- Who's that for?
Betsy- Mum you do know what day it is today don't you? She told her mum while bringing up the photo of Carla and Michelle on the counter and showing her mum.
Lisa- Shit...Sorry, there's been a lot on my mind.
Betsy- I could imagine, look we can stop off and get you a big bunch of flowers.
Lisa- Umm..Roses. She said grabbing her car keys and picking up the card that Betsy had put down and ushered her out of the door she almost forgot Carla's luggage bag which had a spare set of clothing for when she would be discharged and some of her wash things that she was asked to bring in.
Betsy- Knowing mom she'll still be asleep with the medication she's on.
Carla had her eyes closed when she felt heard footsteps in the room she opened her eyes and saw Roy and Ryan both standing beside her. Ryan had a gift bag in hand while Roy was holding a small white box and gift bag. He placed the box onto Carla's table while he handed her the gift bag.
Roy- Happy birthday Carla, sorry to see you back in here for your day.
Carla- Thank you Roy, well I'm in good care here until they find out if i need a transplant.
Ryan- Have they still not given you your results?
Carla- They said they'll have them for today, but i told them I don't want to know till tomorrow I just want today to just forget about it then deal with it tomorrow.
Ryan- Understandable.
Carla opened her gift from Roy she pulled out an eye cover which will help her sleep more better through the day in the hospital she felt it was difficult to sleep with the lights on so this was the perfect gift, he also got her a candle fresh cotton scent which she smelt and agreed with the scent leaning over the table she opened the white box revealing a white Victoria sponge cake.
Roy- I made this especially for you fresh this morning.
Ryan- What Roy is saying that he was up early at midnight baking and then waited until the cream was set and he waited for the sponge to cool once he took it out of the oven before finishing it off, he fell asleep on the sofa after finishing.
Carla- Thank you Roy, although i don't like how you haven't had much sleep.
Roy- It was worth it. He replied with a smile.
Carla- Thank you. She took hold of his hand and pulled him closer so she could kiss him on the cheek.
Ryan- Well my gift seems a little stupid now come to think of it. He told his auntie as he rain his hand through the back of his head.
Carla- No gift can never be stupid I'm just happy to see you both, i love you both.
Ryan- We love you too you big softy. He handed her the gift bag and with a smile Carla dug into the bag and pulled out a mug with a picture of him and her with the writing Auntie Carla over the top.
Carla- Oh Ryan I love this, thank you. She held her hand out to him as he leaned down to kiss her on the cheek and held her for a few minutes before the next visitors came through.
'Happy Birthday mom'. Betsy called out as she entered, she made her way round to Carla's side and handed her the card and with a smile stood back as she looked at Carla's gifts. She watched as Carla opened the card and she almost broke into tears when she opened it.
Carla- Darling I love it...I love you too. She said placing the card down as she reached for Betsy and pulled her close so that she could hug her.
Betsy- Sorry I haven't got you a present.
Carla- You're the only present I ever want I finally have my girl. She replied as Betsy sat on the edge of the bed as Carla held her close.
"Happy birthday my love". Came the voice of her girlfriend who came through holding a huge bunch of roses all different colours, Carla was amazed at the bunch and to think that her girlfriend has always been the romantic one with gifts from the detective she had been the one to book their romantic spa date but as "Friends" but now they were out in the open she was wanting to be the romantic one too.
Carla- Hey..Well thank you, I'd like to see my girlfriend now please. She laughed as the roses covered her face. Once Lisa had placed them on the bed she leaned down and pressed her lips against her girlfriend's who was waiting to be kissed and she sat herself on the other side of Carla.
Lisa- You look amazing, you've got colour back to your gorgeous cheeks. She said placing a kiss to her cheek.
Carla- Might be the bed baths that the nurse has given me. She told her girlfriend with a sly smile on her face as she placed her arm around her
Lisa- I may need to know this nurse's name and read her the rights. She replied as she locked eyes with her daughter who couldn't help but laugh then she looked at Carla who was trying hard not to laugh by biting down on her bottom lip.
Carla- No need to be jealous babe, you're the only one i want. She went to kiss her but then felt the bed dip as Betsy got from the bed and stood next to Ryan.
Betsy- Before you start getting loved up...Am i okay with moving my stuff in today?
Carla- Of course darling you have your room.
Ryan- I'll give you a hand, I've got nothing better to do.
Betsy- Thanks Ryan.
Lisa- Oh Ryan, I have someone coming round to sort out the burst pipe they wouldn't come as it was Christmas so they'll be round tomorrow.
Ryan- Thank you Lisa and thank you for letting me live there of course I'll be paying rent and so will Bobby.
Lisa- I'm just happy i can help and any other problems with the place let me know.
Ryan- I will thanks.
Carla- Thank you Ryan, I'd help but they're very strict here. She replied with a laugh.
Roy- I'll help you both, I've come in the car so whatever you have i can help you take over to the flat.
Lisa- You'd do that.
Roy- Anything to help. He replied smiling at Carla then at Lisa.
Carla- Thank you Roy.
Betsy- Can we go now please only I'm going to meet with Mason later.
Roy- Of course..I'm ready when you are. He said his goodbyes to Carla and looked at Lisa who was taking off her jacket.
Ryan- Have a good day you two and take it easy. He told his auntie as he went over to the door to where Betsy was and waited for Roy.

Carla= Well I didn't expect the ones I love to come and treat me for my birthday although I'd like to know who told you it was my birthday because I never told you.
Lisa- Well firstly i did check you up on the system when we first met but then with what's been going on i did forget but with Betsy reminding me. She told her girlfriend truthfully.

Lisa stepped out with Carla by her side, Carla placed her arm around the blondes waist as Lisa had her arm around her shoulders holding her close as they headed out of the Hospital and straight over to Lisa's car the blonde opened the passenger side door for her girlfriend before getting in behind the wheel.
Lisa- You know when you're better I can't wait to be the passenger princess.
Carla- Passenger Princess. She laughed out as she looked at her girlfriend and moved a strand of blonde hair from her face so she could look at her.
Lisa- It won't be as good as the Bistro or Roy's but it's something I wanted you to have for a long time now.
Carla- It could be a meal deal from Tesco and I'd still eat it just as long as i get to spend the day with you.
Lisa- I promise when you get discharged from Hospital I'm going to take you out on a proper date, no interruptions just me and you.
Carla- I'd like that. She said placing her hand on her thigh and squeezed gently.
Leaving the Hospital behind for the day, Lisa drove further away than she planned while she drove Carla closed her eyes but her hand never left her girlfriend's thigh, at every red light Lisa would look at her girlfriend and smile. She drove for over an hour and a half before coming to a stop. Carla awoke to the sound of seagulls as she took in the surroundings she realised where they was and smiled.
Carla- Blackpool.
Lisa- I thought we could grab something to eat and go on the beach, I know it's no the Bahamas but it's the best i can do for now.
Carla- It's Perfect. She replied as she placed her hand round the back of her head and bought her in close so that she could kiss her softly.
They had a walk round the seafront looking through the shops as they went by, as they continued to walk along Lisa at one point had pulled Carla by the hoodie and pulled her into her body and hugged her and whispering what she was going to do to her once they were able to go back to the flat and told her that she wasn't going to get much sleep. This made Carla blush and lean into her girlfriend no matter where they was standing she took her girlfriends face in her hands and started to kiss her more passionately. When a woman came over "Excuse me you're blocking the pavement". Lisa never let go of Carla and Carla never let go of her girlfriend.
Lisa- You can walk round us you know.
"You shouldn't be doing that in the street".
Carla- It's what happens when you're madly in love..You might want to try it love..
Lisa- Move along please Miss. She said taking out her badge from her jacket pocket the woman saw and she was quick on her feet.
Carla- Do you always bring your work badge with you on your day off? She couldn't help to laugh.
Lisa- You don't know what kind of trouble you get into, it once helped me get out of a speeding ticket when i said i was off chasing a suspect when really i was going for a kebab flashed them my badge then i was away.
Carla- I might want to change my profession. She laughed as she placed her arm around her waist as they continued to walk.
Lisa- I'd rather like you as a knicker boss, now i know exactly where to get my underwear from.
Carla- Ah well i have just the underwear in mind for you but I wouldn't go flashing it around.
Lisa- I'd rather wear no underwear. When she said that Carla went weak in the knees just thinking about it if Lisa didn't have a tight grip around her waist then she would have been on the ground.
Carla- While you work you wear underwear but when you're with me commando.
Lisa laughed at her girlfriend's reply before coming to stop outside a food takeaway she scanned over the menu and smiled as she put in the order while Carla stayed outside to get in the fresh air something that she was missing while she was at Hospital. While Lisa was waiting for her order to be done Lisa got a call it was an important call which she had to answer as she did she looked over at Carla outside she was on the phone for a couple of minutes before she ended the call. Their order was done so she placed her phone into her jeans pocket and grabbed the food. As she joined Carla she linked her fingers through the brunettes and they started to stroll in silence. Carla knew something was on her mind but chose not to say anything and that she was going to get her to talk first.
They went back over to the car only so that Lisa could grab a blanket, she placed the blanket over her shoulder before taking her girlfriend's hand once again and leading them onto the sand where they found the perfect spot away from people and just looked over the sea. Lisa placed the bag of food onto the sand and with the help of Carla they placed the blanket down as they sat down they took off their shoes and sat crossed legged. Lisa was still quiet although she wanted her girlfriend to be the first to speak but didn't look like it was going to happen so she placed her hand on her girlfriend's face and turned her face so that she was looking into her eyes and nodded at her.
Lisa- That was the Hospital..They have your results of your blood test.
Carla- Oh..Oh right, do i need to go back now?
Lisa- No they said it can wait till the morning.
Carla- I just want to hold onto this kidney..I promised him i would look after it. She told her girlfriend on the verge of tears.
Lisa- Promised who? She replied as she placed her hand onto her face as a way of comfort.
Carla- My brother Aiden, he was a match him and my sister Kate but he wanted to do it I promised him I'd take good care of it.
Lisa- Hey this isn't your fault, it was the scumbags that put you in Hospital in the first place that caused the infection. You didn't know this was to happen he would understand.
Carla- I've let him down. She replied tears streaming down her face.
Lisa- Hey. She got up from beside Carla and straddled her lap placing her arms around her head and leaning her forehead against her girlfriend's she couldn't bare to see her upset.
Carla- I promised him I'd look after his kidney, he saved my life and now that i don't have him here now in my life I can't tell him that I'm going to need another kidney transplant use another donor.
Lisa- Listen to me...This what's happening, you have been under a serious attack and maybe if i didn't call it off with you then you'd still be at the pub with me having a glass of coke and then I would have skived off work to spend time with you but it happened and I'm sorry it did.
Carla- Someone else would have got the whack over the head or worse it could have been you or Betsy.
Lisa- It was because of Betsy that she organised the factory robbery that you ended up in Hospital in the first place.
Carla- Darling she was upset and i get why she was, before i came along it was just you and Betsy and before that it was just you Betsy and Becky now I've come on the scene i get where
she was coming and I do forgive her I know I won't replace her other mum but I'm going to be there because she's like a daughter to me.
Lisa- You're so good to her, you're amazing.
Carla- I am. She smiled as she felt the blonde kiss her closed eyes and nose before coming to her lips when she leaned back she looked lovingly at her.
Lisa- I love you so much, whatever the result is we'll deal with this together. She told her girlfriend as Carla wrapped her arms around and held onto her.
Carla- I love you too.
Lisa- Now I'm hungry, they said you should try dessert before having your main..As it goes I've had my starter and my dessert. She told her girlfriend as she pulled out of the hug Carla laughed when
she realised what she meant.
Carla- Well I can't wait later for my dessert it might be the last for sometime.
Lisa- Well I'm a very greedy woman myself, I may need to have dessert again.
Carla- You can never have too much dessert. She laughed as she kissed her exposed chest and throat before kissing her hard on the lips, Lisa let out a moan and would have let her carry on but the sounds of their stomachs growling at them made them stop.
Lisa- Saved by our guts.
Carla- Come on then what have we got. She asked the blonde as she got from her lap and watched as her girlfriend reached into the bag pulling out their wrapped meals with placing one in front of
herself before placing Carla's in her hand. Lisa smiled and pulled out two cans of Irn Bru.
Lisa- You've gotta wash it down with a can of the best.
Carla- You know one of these days I'm going to take you to Scotland.
Lisa- I can't wait..Only if you wear a kilt.
Carla- For you anything. She smiled as she unwrapped her meal she could smell it and it was the same smell she smelt from Dev's when she got the wrapping off she was holding the same meal that Lisa
had wanted when she was over at the factory.
Lisa- You've gotta try it babe.
Carla- Of all the meals you could have chosen you've gone for the kebab.
Lisa- Trust me you'll be wanting one of these once a week. Carla raised her eyebrows at her girlfriend before going in for the first bite she took her time as she bit into the meat and started to slowly chew, she looked at the blonde and then made the sound of enjoyment.
Carla- You're right babe it tastes so good, maybe i would have chewed your arm off after all for one of these.
Lisa- See i told ya. She replied as she started to tuck into her own kebab.
When they had finished their dinner they were on their back on the blanket Lisa cuddled into her girlfriend's side with Carla's arm wrapped around her holding her close as they looked up into the clear blue sky.
Carla- Aiden would have loved to have met you.
Lisa- I would have loved to have met him to, I wish you talked to me about him, firstly i didn't know he was the one who donated his kidney. I read up from a Police report that his death was by suicide.
Carla- I wish i knew what was going in his head at the time, I could have stopped him, he gave me one of his vital organs and I never noticed the signs that he might have been struggling, when dad rang
me and told me...I went straight over to the flat thinking it was one big joke, when i went into his bedroom my dad was by his bedside and he wouldn't move I told him he was gone, i couldn't believe it...I miss him so much Lise.
Lisa- I couldn't imagine the pain that you went through losing your brother, I'm so sorry baby. She leaned over and brushed her lips against the brunettes who looked back at her and sighed.
Carla- He would have been shocked that I'm with a woman...But if he was here now he'd see how much I love you...How about your family?
Lisa- I'd rather not talk about them, only family i ever want in my life is here, you and Betsy.
Carla- I'm not going to force you into telling me about your family tree but if you want to talk about them, then I'm here.
Lisa- You're a very caring woman Ms Connor, that's what made me fall in love with you in the first place.
Carla- Thank you for today it's been the best day, the best birthday ever, you're so good to me.
Lisa- You don't need to thank me I'm so happy to be the one to celebrate your existence the woman that I love looking incredibly sexy getting better looking as you age.
Carla- So am i going to know your birthday or am I going to have to ask young Swainy.
Lisa- You're getting nothing from me but I'll tell you my star sign...I'm a Scorpio.
Carla- Are you trying to tell me that I seduced you on your birth month.
Lisa- All you've gotta do is work out the date and I'm saying nothing. She replied with a smirk.
Carla- I'll find out one way or another. She replied standing up and holding her hand out to her girlfriend who gladly took hold of and reaching down to grab their rubbish bag while Carla picket up the
blanket they made their way over to the carpark as they walked over Lisa threw their rubbish in the bin and watched as Carla wrapped the blanket around herself and watched as she walked over to the car she stood there admiring her slim figure before being caught out. As Lisa went to join her by the car Carla reached out and took her hand bringing it up to her lips placing a kiss to the back of her hand.
Lisa- Back to the hospital.
Carla- I'm scared...I don't want to give up his kidney. She replied with a smile.
Lisa- I know love but he'd want you to be back to your healthy self he would understand if he was here and saw what you went through, he would know that you looked after his kidney as much as you could.
Carla- Please don't leave me...I need you, everyone that i love leave me and i feel like history will repeat itself.
Lisa- I'll never leave you beautiful I'm here always will be, I'm madly in love with you.
Carla- You're the best thing to have happened to me. She told her girlfriend as the blonde leaned in to kiss her softly at first and it was only meant to be a short kiss as Lisa leaned back Carla leaned back forward placing her hand on the side of her face bringing the tip of her tongue to er girlfriend's slightly parted lips and kissed her more passionately taking her breath away. When she needed to catch her breath she leaned her forehead against the detective's and smiled.
Lisa- Wow Ms Connor, haven't i told you that you're such a woman kisser.
Carla- Been wasting myself away with my past partners haven't I? She replied with a laugh.
Lisa- Well i hope I'm different from them.
Carla- You're so much different and so much better, I miss you so much when we're not together I just want to be with you all the time, with them I had constant headache.
Lisa- Well like I said before I'm going nowhere, once you get out of that Hospital we're going back home and I'm going to take good care of you. She told her as she ran her thumb over her lips as she looked into her eyes
Carla- I suppose we've gotta go back.
Lisa- Don't worry I'm with you and I won't leave your side.
Carla- What about work?
Lisa- Sod work you're more important, besides that's what the cops are there for and Kit.
Carla- That man seems dodgy to me Lise, there's something about him. She said opening her passenger side door and hopped in.
Lisa- Oh I know I'm onto it, if there's something going on with him I'll find out soon enough. She replied as she got into the drivers seat and started up the car.
On the drive back Carla had fallen asleep so Lisa just left her to rest, she had her hand over on her thigh the journey back Carla had put it there as a comfort which Lisa didn't mind at all. When they arrived back at the Hospital Lisa had parked up in the bay and went to open the passenger side door and awoke her with kisses on her cheek before she saw her girlfriend smile and slowly start to open her eyes.
Carla- Mmmm..are we home?
Lisa- Not quite..
Carla- Ah this place again. She groaned as she turned her face away but the feel of the blondes lips pressing against the side of her neck made her moan and grabbing the back of her head holding her
close.
Lisa- Maybe we should just carry this on back in your room away from the carparks cameras. She laughed as Carla's eyes shot open and immediately started to get out.
They walked into the Hospital with their arms wrapped around each others waists as they headed past reception as they was going to enter Carla's room they were called back by one of the nurses.
"Ms Connor."
Carla- Great...Yeah. She sighed as she turned back round and headed over to the reception desk with Lisa by her side.
"You had a visitor come by to see you, she dropped you off a bouquet and a card in your room."
Carla- Thank you..Did she leave you her name?
"She did but she told me to let you find out yourself." The nurse replied with a smile.
Carla- Thank you Nurse..Roberts..You're new aren't you I haven't see you around here.
"Just started this morning."
Carla- Well nice to meet you Nurse.
"I've been handed your results on your blood test, only I was told that you didn't want to hear your results till morning."
Carla- I might as well know now,
"Okay..I'll just get your results and I'll bring your medication to your room". She told the brunette with a smile.
Lisa- Come on babe. She placed her arm protectively around her girlfriends waist and they headed back to the room.
Carla- If i wasn't mistaken i would have thought you was a little bit jealous.
Lisa- What me jealous..Of a trainee nurse...Never. She replied as she got her girlfriend into bed.
Carla- Don't be...I've only got eyes for you now come here i want a cuddle.
Lisa- You were flirting with her. She said folding her arms against her chest as she looked down at her girlfriend.
Carla- I was just having a civil conversation...Don't get all jealous on me now..Come here.
Lisa tried to be annoyed at her for no other reason than her jealously when Carla had told her that she had nothing to be worried about and that she would be the only woman for her. Lisa melted to Carla's charms and got on the bed and into her girlfriends arms.
Lisa- I'm sorry.
Carla- You've got nothing to be sorry about but listen when i tell you that you're my whole world you are my love always will be I only have eyes for you.
Lisa- Ditto. She replied looking deep into her girlfriend's eyes.
"Ms Connor". Came the voice from the door and in stepped the same nurse that Lisa got jealous over.
Carla- yes Nurse Roberts. She replied as she linked her fingers through the blondes.
"Just looking at your results now and I'm pleased to tell you that the results are good."
Lisa- What do you mean good? She eyed up the nurse.
"The antibiotics are working and are fighting the infection on her remaining kidney, as long as she keeps taking the medication.
Carla- I won't need a transplant? She replied with tears in her eyes.
"It's good news..As long as you take the medication and stay off alcohol and take it easy the medication will work it's fighting the infection we're happy to say that we've caught it in time.
Carla- What about my hallucinations?
"When you developed sepsis that's what caused you to experience hallucination.
Lisa- Do you know what you're saying?
"The sepsis has cleared up and the infection is clearing up with the medication, so it's looking really good we've caught the infection on time, it's very good news."
Carla- Can i go home now?
"You can be discharged in the morning."
Carla- No I want to go home now, i don't see why i can't go home now with a prescription.
"That can be arranged, but it's constant rest no work for at least a fortnight and it's desk duty after that ."
Lisa- I'd really like to take my girlfriend home and into our own bed.
"I'll get the discharge papers and leave them at reception." She smiled awkwardly noticing a friction with Lisa as the nurse left the room Carla busted into tears placing her hand over her face.
Lisa- Hey...It's good news. She said leaning over her to remove her hands from her face.
Carla- I'm relieved..I'm so very relieved, i get to keep a part of Aiden with me..I get to keep..She burst into tears while pulling Lisa into her holding her tight.
Lisa- It's great news babe, luckily they caught the infection on time.
Carla- Would you have really given me your kidney.
Lisa- If I was a match yeah...But I'm so happy that you don't need no machines and no transplant just medication to sort out the infection.
Carla reached over to grab the bouquet of flowers and took out the note and aloud her eyes to scan over the writing before letting our a gasp. She turned the card round and showed her girlfriend before smelling the bunch.
Carla- That's a blast from the past.
Lisa- Who's Michelle? She said taking the card from her girlfriends hand who was smiling.
