White flame
They arrived at the camp to chaos. They had only been away from the Manor for an hour and it seemed that all of the rebels that went had already came back and most servilely injured. Most of the people she knew too had hand not seen in months. As she walked past the tents she noticed as heads turned her way and whispers started to echo through the clearing in the woods. Ron was taking her towards a large tent similar to how she had imagined military tents in the novels she used to read.
"Hermione?" She heard and turned her head to see a Luna on crutches slowly walking towards her, Neville shortly behind.
"We thought you had died." He said.
They followed them into the military tent where she saw Mrs Weasley, Professor Slughorn and Hagrid leaning over a map of Hogwarts. "Hermione?" Mrs Weasley shouted. They all turned their heads, their expressions palling as they saw her.
"Yes, it's me."
"How are you here, Ron saw you die." She said.
"I was brought back to life, with dark magic but that doesn't matter right now I need to get back to the Manor because I might be able to kill him."
"We can't." Luna hobbled forward on the crutches. "The Manor has gone, something happened at and it exploded, the Phantom told us all to get out and then he took on Voldemort himself."
"What?" She felt a pain in her chest like nothing she had ever felt. "No he couldn't have, why did he have to be so stupid." Something awakens in her then. She had felt it before, a that new power after she was brought back to life, it was once a slumbering beast nut now it was awake and ready to kill.
"He gave us this." She held out the Ravenclaw diadem.
"NO, where is he, what happened." She tried to suppress this new magic, if she could just think for a minute.
"Voldemort took him somewhere, we don't know were but he is going to kill him in front of everyone as his first act as leader of the ministry, if we knew who he was we might have been able to help him."
She covered her face with her hands. "No this can't be happening." She felt a heat in her chest, the magic was taking over.
"Do you know who he is?" She couldn't hear them talking, the magic was too much.
"I need to go outside." She knew this power, what ever it was, was going to unleash its self.
"Hermione are you okay." She heard Rons voice but couldn't really make out the words.
As soon as she stepped outside she closed her eyes and breathed in the cold air, but it didn't calm her as it usually did, so she gave in. She felt as flame enveloped her body. It was only when she opened her eyes that she saw that the heat she felt was fire, white silvery fire, the colour of steel.
She turned to see the startled expression of Ron behind her, and once again in his eyes was fear.
She did not feel fear.
"Hermione, you can get him back." Ron said, a shake in his voice. As he stepped backwards he tried over a stone and fell into the mud. "Hermione listen to my voice."
She saw as people around her cowered and as some screamed but she didn't care, she would burn this entire world to get him back. But she couldn't.
"Hermione." She heard his voice.
"Ron."
Part of her needed this power, the fear. She controlled her magic to concentrate the silver flames to her hands and felt as she floated up into the air. Part of her needed the power and would kill everyone here but part of her didn't, the part that needed books and coffee, and him. She desperately listened to that part of herself over the roaring of power in her head. If she wanted him back that was not the way to do it.
She found herself sinking back to the ground and the fire extinguished its self. Ron immediately got to his feet and grabbed a blanket and thew it around her shoulders. She was shaking. Everyone around her seemed in shock, they were shaking too.
She heard over the roaring as Mrs Weasley said "Ill make a cup of tea." with a shaky voice.
Ron guided her to a small tent and once inside sat her down on a bench. "What happened , you looked like you were about to kill everyone."
"I...I don't know, they said there would be some side affects after the whole dark magic thing but I never thought it would be like that."
"You were on fire, you were literally on fire and it was silver."
She felt as tears started to fall from her eyes. "I don't know. Whats happed to me Ron."
He didn't respond and just pulled her close to him, and for the first time in years it felt as it used to, that they were friends. They were there for a few minutes when Molly Weasley came in a cup of tea in hand. "Hermione, I don't know what that was but I hope you use it against you know who."
She looked up at her and took the tea, taking a small sip, the liquid was too hot but she liked it none the less. "I'm sorry, I don't know what that was."
"Who ever the phantom is I know mean a great deal to you and I think you need to find him before it's too late."
"I know, but I don't know where he is or how to find him."
"Its probably going to seem stupid but follow your heart, you know where he is, you just don't know it yet." With that she left the tent.
"She is right you know, you need to get too Draco now." Ron said.
She thought for a moment about how their souls were linked now form the dark magic and wondered if there was a way to find him that way. "I'm going to try something, I might catch fire again, if i do just throw water at me or something."
She tunnelled into the well of magic she had and felt as something tugged on her soul like a tiny piece of string. She followed the string with her magic and as she went the pull got stronger and stronger. Suddenly she felt as if she were right next to him. She held onto the string with all her life and as she did a small image formed in her minds eye. It was a cell. It was as if she were seeing with Draco's eyes and as she looked she saw a familiar door through the bars, it was the door to a potions classroom.
"He is at Hogwarts."
It was at that moment that Molly Weasley burst into the tent. "I don't know how he has done it but he has taken Hogwarts, the magic of the castle has finally given up fighting."
"I know." Was all she said.
