Ice Cream Shop

After many, many painful weeks of school, it was finally summer break. I eventually made up with Harry, and he apologized. So, we were all good, well at least for now...

The first few weeks of break had been going good, we were staying with the Weasley's at the Burrow and they were all really fun people. Though, my favorite thing was Molly's food, it was amazing. I stayed in Ginny's room and Harry stayed with Ron, but almost every day we had something to do. Some days we would help Molly with cleaning the house or doing the dishes, but other times we would go outside and do big family quidditch games. Almost everyday I would owl Draco, Thomas, and Amelia, mostly Thomas because our plan was my main priority.

Today, I was going to meet Draco at Diagon Alley because he wanted me to try the ice cream shop there, since I had never tried ice cream before, considering the fact that the Dursley's would buy some for Dudley almost every day, but we were never allowed to have some.

Anyways, eventually I was in Ginny's room and I started getting ready.

"Where are you going?" Ginny asked, as she entered the room.

"Diagon Alley." I replied, picking up my hairbrush from the counter.

"Ooh, can I come?" She urged me.

"No, sorry. I don't know if your mom would let you go anyways." I said, trying my best not to rip my hair off.

"Well, she doesn't need to know. Plus, I haven't gone out all summer." She replied, as she also started getting ready.

"Ginny... I don't want your mom getting mad." I said, looking at her.

"Trust me, she won't. Fred and George will probably keep her busy anyways." She replied, putting her hair up.

"Fine, but if we get caught, it's not my fault." I said, as I started putting my shoes on.

"Okay, okay, fine I'll take the blame if we get caught." She sighed.

"Great, thanks Gin." I said.

It was a little hard not to get caught with all the people in the house, but Ginny was able to distract them so we could make it to the chimney.

"Okay, now I'm gonna go meet my friend and we can meet back here in about two or three hours?" I said, getting ready to go find Draco, as we just got to Diagon Alley.

"Wait, I can't come with you?" She asked.

"Um, well not really... you aren't very fond of my friend." I said, knowing that the whole Weasley family despised the Malfoy's.

"Oh, come on, your friend can't be that bad." She urged.

"Well.. it'd just be better if you didn't come." I said, kind of giving her the hint that I didn't want her to come.

"Fineee, and don't worry I won't tell Harry you are hanging out with a boy." She said, walking off. Which didn't give me the time to say something back to her.

I mostly knew my way around here but it was easy to get lost, at least for me. I had been wandering around for about a few minutes until I eventually heard someone call my name.

"Potter!" I turn around and see Draco standing there with a smirk on his face. I then ran up to him and gave him a hug.

"How long have you been here?" He asked.

"For a solid thirty minutes probably." I said, and he started laughing. "I get lost pretty easily."

"I can see that." He said, and I rolled my eyes.

"Okay, so where are we going." I asked, looking around.

"Follow me." He said, and then grabbed my hand and pulled me towards this big building that had a big ice cream on it.

"How did I not see that?" I said, because it was pretty visible to everyone who walked by, well almost everyone.

"Because you're blind." He said, and then I smacked him on the head.

"Anyways, what flavor do you want?" He asked me, as we entered the building.

"What flavor do you normally get?" I asked him, realizing there was like fifty different flavors.

"I like pistachio." He said, and I was shocked.

"I'm sorry, what?" I said. "Are you okay?"

"What's so bad about Pistachio?" He said, genuinely confused.

"You know, I'm just gonna pretend like you didn't say that." I said, and continued to look at the menu.

"I guess I can try chocolate chip cookie dough." I said, and then he ordered it for me.

Once we got our cones, we went to go find a place to sit.

"Come on, it's not as bad as it sounds, you should try it." He said, showing me his ice cream, as we both sat down.

"Fine, but just a little bit." I said, and then I took a bite out of his cone.

"Oh, wow, that's surprisingly good." I said, genuinely surprised.

"I told you." He said, as I just shook my head. "Let me try yours now."

He then went in to get a bite of mine, but I decided to shove the cone in his face.

"Oh, your dead Potter." He said, and then shoved his cone into my face.

We had been going back and forth until we eventually got kicked out for making a big mess.

"Look what you did." I told Draco as we were walking back to where I was supposed to meet Ginny.

"All I wanted was to try your ice cream." He said.

"Well you got to try my ice cream, didn't you?" I said, and he just rolled his eyes.

We talked for a while and he told me all about how the beginning of his summer had gone. He told me it was uneventful, for the most part. But, almost every day their family would either have a party or invite someone over, so to me it seemed pretty busy.

"You have to come over one day and see my house." He suggested.

"I would love to, but I don't think our families got along that well, and plus don't your parents hate me?" I said, kind of bummed I hadn't been to his house before. Well, his "Manor" before, for wizards it's basically the same thing, but for me, a manor is equivalent to a mansion.

"Well, they've never actually met you so why would they hate you. From what I've told my mom about you, she seems to want to meet you. She even suggested I invite you over one day." He said, and I was pretty surprised considering the fact that our parents were never on good terms with each other, at least from what I've heard.

"Oh, really? I mean I would love to meet your mom too." I exclaimed.

"Yeah, but my dad on the other hand...." He said, never finishing his sentence.

"He hates my guts, doesn't he?" I asked.

"Well, he isn't very fond of the fact that your last name is Potter." He said, as I just sighed.

"That's great." I said, sarcastically.

"Yeah, but still, I mean that doesn't mean you can't come over? He can't stop you. Why don't you come over next week, that way you can finally meet my mom." He said, excitedly. I didn't want to say no to him, because I did in fact want to go.

"Sure, let's do it." I exclaimed.

A few minutes later, we eventually made it back and we were finally going to part ways.

"Well, today was fun Potter." He said.

"Yeah, it was. Maybe next time we should do something that doesn't involve getting kicked out." I exclaimed.

"That wouldn't be fun though." Draco said, as I just shook my head.

I went to lean in for a hug, but then he moved my head and leaned in for my lips. We were about to kiss, but then before anything could happen I heard someone call my name.

"Y/n, there you are." Ginny said, coming out of nowhere. "I've been looking everywhere for you.

"Yeah, sorry I took so long." I said, as Draco and I both moved our away from each other.

Then, eventually Ginny came closer and saw that I wasn't alone.

"So this is why you didn't want me to come." Ginny said, raising her eyebrows.

"Well-" I started, but she eventually interrupted me by saying,

"No, no it's fine, I get it." She said.

"We better get going. See you later Draco." I said, as I waved goodbye to him.

Once Draco was out of sight, Ginny decided to say something else,

"You guys aren't like dating, are you?" She asked.

"No, no we aren't." I said, abruptly.

"Oh ok." She said, but didn't seem fully satisfied with my response.

What just happened between me and Draco? I mean, we were about to kiss. We would've if Ginny hadn't interrupted. But what if she didn't interrupt? Would I have pulled away or would I have actually enjoyed it?

We eventually got back to the Burrow and no one had noticed we had left. Or so we thought.

Mrs. Weasley came in from the kitchen and started yelling at Ginny.

"Where have you been!" She cried.

"Oh, I was so worried. You better have a good excuse as to why you have been missing for the past few hours." Mrs. Weasley said.

I was panicking at first, but Ginny suddenly seemed to know what she was doing and came up with the excuse that we wanted to go for a walk.
