Save Him!
William's P.O.V
'Kill Him! Kill! Kill! Kill! Take the child! Not safe!' Was the only thing going through his head currently.
William's mind was blank with rage as he held himself back from killing the bastard. There is nothing that irks him more than abusive guardians, and he's using that word as light as an atom of air. 'I need to go find the kid before I do anything I will regret.' As soon as the kid and what William assumes is his family walked through the door, they immediately caught his eye.
It was kind of hard not to with how large the two males were, that couldn't have been healthy. William shudders to think about how much they must've eaten to gain that kind of bulk. The woman looked horse-faced and way too skinny to be next to those whales, dressing as if they were going to a dinner party and not some pizzeria with chaotic messy kids and mediocre, overpriced pizza. Then William's eyes landed on the other child that was with them, he was immediately wary. The child had a bird's nest called hair as black as a nightless sky, porcelain pale skin, and big doe-like emerald-filled eyes. No, something other than emerald, a type of green that William had never come across before; it was the most beautiful green that could enchant you just by looking at them for too long. But that wasn't why he was wary.
What caught his attention first was his clothes, they were ten times too big and looked extremely worn. The rest of the family had nicely styled clothes that fit perfectly, almost as if tailored. It's obvious this family has money so why does this child look as though he's homeless. The boy could've been compared to a doll with ragged clothing, lifeless. The lifelessness manly comes from the boy's eyes. For such a bright color they looked dull, not the usual light in them children have, no wonder, joy, or delight. The family looked at him as though they were forced to haul him about, which may not be to far off now that he thought about it. William knew the boy was observing him, he wasn't discreet at all, but the abused kids usually fade into the background. It's why abusers aren't caught more often, the kids they abuse get too good at blending into the shadows that it becomes natural, second nature for them.
There was a brief flash of confusion in the kid's eyes while he observed him before they once again became dull. 'He probably thought my eyes were weird.' William thought nonchalantly.
Glitchtrap, even though he's an asshole, is also enraged. Glitch has been with William almost all his life and knew the signs of abuse as well as he, both learned from experience and so he was looking at the boy as well.
They saw the kid leave the building, saying something to the front desk before taking off. William immediately followed only to see... No one. 'Guess the kid's sneaker and quicker than we thought' Glitchtrap agreed.
It took an embarrassingly long time to find the child, but with Glitchtrap being a literal glitch of reality they finally found him. They never would have if they were regular people, that's for sure. He was next to the building underneath a tree that was in a garden my boss decided would help with the bland look of the building, it didn't. The tree had thick leaves growing like vines that reached the ground, providing effective cover from the outside world. It would be easy to miss if you weren't looking. William took cautious slow steps in case the child decided to peak out and look. It would do no good to have the kid up and running because he moved too fast and spooked him. As William and Glitchtrap neared, they could have sworn they heard talking coming from behind the leaves, quiet enough that a regular human wouldn't hear if they were right next to the tree.
Luckily, William didn't have to go to work today, since it was technically his day off, but he had nothing better to do. Besides he could always use the extra pay they give him as overtime. Even if this took a while, at least William wouldn't get in trouble for it. He was now within talking distance, but before he could even get a word out, the kid looked directly at him. He stopped moving, letting the kid observe him. Once William was certain the kid wouldn't run, he went to speak again but stopped when he noticed the kid's eyes look over to wear Glitchtrap is... It's impossible for the kid to see Glitch, he was probably just distracted by some cool car. "Excuse me sir, but what is the bunny that's glitching? And why are you glowing purple?" The child asked somewhat shyly, still looking at where Glitchtrap is.
That didn't matter to William right now, he was rapidly falling into panic. How did the kid see Glitchtrap?! William can feel how shocked he is, meaning he wasn't visible to anyone but him. It also begs the question of why he said William glowed purple? Could it have to do with his... Insane counter-part? If so, how does he know? He will have to be cautious...
Willaim nonetheless, replied casually, "What do you mean? There are no bunnies around here, especially not glitching ones, I am also not purple. The only thing that's purple are my clothes." He makes a dramatic motion with his hands that gestures to his outfit.
The answer should have worked... He should have mistaken it as a trick of light, just his pure imagination, and apologized...But... he didn't... He instead looked him in the eye, eyes now bright with fierce determination. "But sir, your pupil and eye whites have switched. Also, the glitching bunny is similar to mine except more colorful. So yes, there are glitching bunnies." If William wasn't on edge before, he was now.
Another Glitch sounds very frightening. Glitchtrap has a bloodlust as large as the sea, including the unexplored parts... That didn't happen until William's father nearly killed him. Glitchtrap just snapped, done with all the hurt he saw William going through. His father would have succeeded if it weren't for Glitchtrap. That happened when he was around fifteen, and this kid doesn't look older than five. Maybe the bloodlust hasn't kicked in yet... Or maybe it has and is just doing a good job of hiding it.
Noticeably, Glitchtrap was not weary at all. Feeling surprised by the news of another Glitch? Sure that makes sense. Angry at the child's guardians? With what they have seen and heard from the whale... That also makes complete sense, but to not be wary at all... That's when William remembered what Glitchtrap told him when he asked why he befriended him of all people. The only way for a Glitch to appear before someone or be created by someone, they have to be in a situation that they can't get out of themselves and wants at least a friend over everything else, even revenge. The worse the situation is, the stronger the glitch. William got Glitchtrap when he was four and took them over a year to even start having a close relationship... But the kid looks like he isn't even five, and he sounds very acquainted with his glitch...
When William came to this realization, he started to twitch; the first sign of his insanity. Oh, how he wanted to tear into that supposed family of perfection that they tried to portray. He took a few calming breaths, now is not the time to get angry and lose himself. Looking at the child, he then realized he hasn't asked the boy his name. 'How was I that stupid, that I forgot to ask for his name?' So he did, "Hey kid, what's your name?" He was hoping that he would trust me enough to tell me.
"Why?" The boy replied in a tone that they knew only too well.
"So I can make actually talk to you without referring to you as The Child, and so we can find your parents or guardians. I work at Fazbear's Dinner as a guard." He lied smoothly about being a guard, praying to god that the kid would believe him. He has no intentions of bringing the boy back to those people like a guard would be required to, and secretly hoping that the kid would react in some way that incriminates his guardians that doesn't involve the Glitch aspect.
The kid seemed reluctant. Like he was having a debate with himself. If you factor in the supposed Glitch the child has, that may not be exactly what he's doing. William waited and didn't say anything else, it could be interpreted that he's trying to trick the kid to come out of his hiding place. Finally, after a long silence, the kid finally spoke. "Harry Potter, Mr..?" He trailed off, clearly asking for a name. "Afton, William Afton. Nice to meet you, Harry. How about you tell me where your guardians live so I can take you to them." He half lied, trying to get the address to call the police, or maybe let loose some steam... Yeah, that's what he'll call it.
William was disappointed that there was no outward reaction, but he can always get video evidence from the cameras at the Dinner to show how they treated him. "But they're in the dinner. Why would you need to go to the address?" He sounded confused and had every right to be, but Glitchtrap saw his guardians exit the Dinner when they were looking for him, hearing the pig of a child complain that it was boring.
They bet that they didn't care and we're glad to be rid of him, another piece of evidence against them. "I saw them walk out already and came to get you, and before you ask how I know who your guardians are, I saw you walk in with them. When they left, you weren't with them." He again lied smoothly.
'Come on kid. Come on. Just give me the address and then I can make them suffer.' He looked as though he was trying to make up his mind about telling a stranger where they live, though he probably realized it would look too suspicious if he didn't say. "#4, Privet Drive, in Surry, England. We're here on vacation and are currently in a hotel a few hours from here." That was all William needed to take Harry's hand, walk into the Dinner's camera room, copy the footage of Harry and his guardians, get in the car, and drive to the police station with the realization if he killed Harry's guardians he would be put in an orphanage.
It was quite the whole car ride, though William didn't mind. It looked like Harry was relieved he didn't ask any more questions. Plus, the silence
Once they got to the station, the pair went inside, William having a death grip on Harry's hand as they waited for the guy at the front desk to notice them. It took a few minutes and William had to clear his throat to get the guy to finally look up at them. "How may I help you?" The guy said with fake politeness, obviously bored.
The grip William had on Harry's hand tightened. "I am here to report the abuse of Harry Potter." As soon as the words left his mouth both Harry's and the desk manager's eyes widened.
Harry tried to pull away to no avail, his hand was in a death grip. The desk manager, whose nametag read "David", shouted at someone to get ready for an abuse case. That's when all hell broke loose and suddenly he and Harry were pushed into different directions, with him ending up in an office. He quickly got his bearings and looked at the person in front of him. They were a very stern-looking, experienced lady. "From what I hear, you want to report an abuse case?" He nodded, "Well, that's a very serious accusation that I hope you have evidence for?" Well, at least she's willing to listen to him.
"Take it from someone who has... Personal experience, along with video and audio footage of the suspects that shows heavy negligence, at the least." He responds while pulling out the drive he used to collect the footage.
"That's hardly enough to be incriminating. Surely you have something else?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Considering the fact, one of the suspects told Harry to get out of the Diner and then promised severe retribution if he ran away and came back by saying he'll make Harry wish he was never born calling him "boy" instead of his actual name. Along with the fact they went out of the Diner saying they were happy to get rid of the "Freak", again without saying Harry's actual name or even last with a much more derogatory word. All along with the comparison of the other child being heavily obtuse, the entire family wearing pristine clothing, while Harry is in rags and deathly skinny. All on this drive." William said almost proudly, knowing already the entire family wearing pristine clothing and their child being heavily obtuse shows that they aren't short on money, so they can't use that excuse.
"Hmm. If what you say is true then... It's enough to start a case and get the boy, Harry?" He nods again, "Checked out without needing permission from any guardians. That being said, if there isn't any evidence and the family is looking for the child we will need to press kidnapping charges." William nodded in acceptance.
"Now give me the drive." The demand was met immediately.
It took less than twenty minutes with William telling the woman when to speed up and stop the footage, with the woman nodding occasionally. By the end of it, she had a page full of notes and was already reaching for her phone to call down, ordering Harry a check-up.
"Now we wait for the results." And wait they did, for a full hour before the door slammed open.
In the doorway was an angry man, spewing curses in a classic doctor's outfit, a folder in his hand seemingly being strangled. "What's got you so worked up, Remore?" The man, Remore, whipped his body around so fast it looked a blur and stalked over to the woman's desk, folder slamming on the table so loud it echoed through the office.
"Look at this and tell me what's got me so worked up Raquell." Remore said with an angry hiss.
The lady, Raquell, started looking through the folder. The more she saw, the redder her face got until she stood up swearing and pacing.
While that was happening Remore looked directly at William. "You're the one that reported suspected abuse and neglect?" William just nodded again, feeling as though he should be distinctly afraid, "You were right. But it's worse." He nodded towards the folder.
William hesitantly picks it up, fearing whatever startled, what he suspected, a normally strictly composed doctor and officer into such a furious state. The first page was innocent enough, Harry's name, age, weight, and height. It was noted that the weight and height listed did not meet the average, but he expected that with how small the kid looked. Next was a multitude of pictures, each seemingly more horrible than the last. There were whip marks, burn marks, pictures showing how one could easily count how many ribs the boy had, and perhaps worst of all, pictures showing words like "Freak", "Devil", and "Burden" were carved into Harry's skin.
William started twitching, eyes flashing his regular purple irises to vast seas of black with a white speck, purple veins were showing underneath his skin to show his unstable sanity. Luckily the two humans in the room were too busy seething to see the change. He managed to gain control before the others looked at him.
"I am guessing this is enough evidence to incriminate the suspects?" William has a demonic look on his face, the images bringing back... memories.
"Just give me the names and location," Raquell growled out.
"Vernon and Petunia Dursley are from England #4, Privet Drive, Surrey. They're most likely here on vacation, currently in a hotel a few hours away from Freddy Frazbear's Diner. That's what Harry told me at least." She nodded and picked up the phone on the desk, "Get me someone who's available for the next few hours with a background in abuse cases! The child's already been taken in and looked at. A worker at a diner noticed something off, brought the kid here. Apparently, the guardians drove off without the kid, muttering about being better off and happy to be rid of him. We don't know where the suspects are exactly, but we do know they're within a three to five hour radius of Freddy Fazbear's. The suspects are Vernon and Petunia Dursley, they're from England and are staying in a hotel." It was hard to tell what exactly the questions from the other end were but he had a general idea.
She then looked at William. "I need you to temporarily look after Harry as he is treated, he seems to trust you the most." William snorted, very aware if there was any trust, it was gone with the stunt he pulled but nodded anyway.
As soon as Raquell left, Glitchtrap revealed himself. Anyone could tell he was pissed. His body was moving sporadically, his eyes having an eerie glow. He was living up to the title of a glitch with how distorted he was; he could barely see a defined figure.
William himself was a little scared. Whenever they get into some of their more severe squabbles, Glitchtrap has never been truly angry, just extremely annoyed. Even when William was with his father, Glitchtrap has only gotten this bad once, the knowledge that he could help and protect William helped. Now, with this case, the knowledge that no one was ever there to truly help... Glitches can only do so much when starved. At least William's father didn't starve him. He wanted his experiments in prime condition so he could test them to their full capacity.
"I know your angry Glitch. But you need to calm down, what if someone walks in here and sees you!? You can't help the kid if we're caught and put into a lab!" William whisper-yelled, knowing full well the hearing capabilities of Glitchtrap. That and he didn't want anyone else hearing, he seriously doubts these walls are soundproof.
Glitchtrap paused at that. Slowly, the sounds and distortion stopped, leaving a Glitch that is breathing deeply from the effort of keeping a lid on the anger. "You will do everything and anything to get that kid under your custody William! Or you will have much more to worry about than being put in a lab!" William just nodded, already planning on doing that.
Harry James Potter's life has just gotten very interesting.
