Entrance exam
The day of the Entrance Exam her father woke her bright and early, although she knew he had been up far longer and just let her sleep a bit more as he prepared breakfast.
She was usually the one to do that, but it was a special day for them both so he’d wanted to surprise her.
After gobbling up as many as she could of the delicious pancakes and waffles ―basically the only things her dad really knew how to cook― she went back into her room and got through the rest of her morning routine faster than usual.
It didn’t take long before she was ready and leaving the house alongside her dad, arriving at UA in just a few minutes.
She was quiet early, the first of the examinees without a doubt, but she’d wanted to go with her dad and he had to show up early because he’d be amongst the judges of the exam.

They were about to enter the auditorium when she spotted her friend.
Shinso waved at her and she walked right towards him. Today they hadn’t been able to walk together, his parents wanting to drop him off themselves at such an important event.
She suspected they did it out of guilt of not believing he’d enter the Hero course, as they’d been dropping hints for a while already, but she didn’t say it out loud.
“Good morning, Shinso-kun.”
“Good morning, Yumi-hime.”
They were both about to walk inside when she spotted green hair out of the corner of her eye and stopped.
“That’s Izuku-kun, let’s wait up for him.”
As such, they witnessed the incident where he almost fell on his face and how another girl saved him with her quirk.
“He seems pretty nervous.” She said softly.
Shinso observed the boy as he hurried along to them and had to admit that, yes, Izuku looked actually as if he was about to have a breakdown right then and there.
“So are we.” Recognised the boy before the green-haired teen reached hearing distance.
“Hello, Izuku-kun! Did your mum drop you off?”
“No, actually my mum doesn’t drive and she was actually so nervous that I don’t think she should’ve even if she could. I told her there was no sense in getting nervous, but she still was; there is no reason, though, we trained and studied all we could, right? There’s no reason to be nervous at all!” breathed out the boy in one go.
“No reason at all.” She said trying to fake that she wasn’t for his own good. “Now let’s go in!”
And together, the three entered the auditorium.

The written test passed both agonisingly slowly and dizzyingly fast and, before they knew it, they were parting ways to their own practical exams.
Since Shinso and Yumi were in the same high school, they were both set to do their exam in different settings and Izuku had been placed in a different one too.
‘This is it.’ Thought Shinso. ‘This is the moment that decides my future.’
And suddenly his nerves vanished behind a wall of impenetrable calm.

Toshinori watching the exams
Toshinori was watching the exams with the other teachers of UA. There was an astonishing number of promising talents amongst the kids, in his opinion, but there were a lot too who were obviously too green to ever begin the hero course.
He continued watching, looking calm whilst inside his nerves were eating his stomach at the mere thought of Yumi, Shinso or Izuku not passing the exam.
And then he saw how Shinso managed to get a frozen boy to move before a robot got him, getting rescue points for his feat, and he knew they’d be alright.
Somehow.
And indeed, he saw his little princess assessing the situation from high up in a building’s railing. She was watching a blond-haired boy going around defeating robots with blasts right and left, not giving his fellow examinees any time to fight them. Her eyes narrowed for a second before she smiled a wide fierce smile.
He knew how she always rose to the challenge and that shining boy was one for her.
His little princess darted inside one of the buildings, surprising the judges.
What no one knew and few found out, was that the buildings were well supplied, as in they actually looked to be fully lived in.
So it wasn’t as surprising to see her get out with a bunch of things.
Then she looked once more over the battlefield, which was very slowly expanding as more and more robots than the blond boy could destroy alone came into sight, and launched herself after one of the robots pursuing a scared pink-haired girl.
She proceeded to trip the robot with the smart use of some tape and then destroy it with a well-placed hit of a baseball bat. Then she run to where two robots were and got in the middle, deftly avoiding their hits until they were close enough that the robots hit each other.
And that’s how she fought, with speed and intelligence, taking resources from inside the buildings to fashion herself weapons and also using the robots against each other. She was creative and inventive and did not use her Quirk at all.
Toshinori saw Aizawa’s interested eyes, almost hidden by strands of his black hair, and he smiled a little at the thought of what her reaction would be if she knew her favourite Pro Hero was watching her.
But then the Zero Points robot appeared and Izuku’s exam demanded their attention for the remaining time.

The next two weeks were hectic, and she had no time to relax. Between helping her dad prepare his classes ―which he was actually nervous about as he’d never before been a teacher except to her ―, bringing food for him and the other teachers and then training, she barely had time to visit Shinso.
The academy had leant her a room she could use to train whilst her dad was busy with preparing the classes and sometimes the sleep bag man ―who she only knew to be a teacher due to her bringing food over for them all ―was there when she did.
Of course, she also visited Shinso, who was no better off than her in regards to his nerves, especially enhanced by his parents dropping hints of him not passing. The purple-haired boy had only gotten a few points and he himself admitted it might not be enough to pass the test.
The funniest time had been when Principle Nezu had invited her over for tea. The mice-bear-like creature was funny and evil and as mischievous as she was on a good day. Present Mic still shivered when he saw them together.
Still, not even all of that could get her to drop her nervousness about the test results. Everyone had remained very tight lipped about that even around her and her nerves did nothing but grow.
Until, finally, on the last day of the two weeks, Nezu pulled her aside and gave her a small white envelope.
Her cry of happiness was heard all around the school.
