First Glimpse
Regulus and Sirius boarded the train the Hogwarts, Sirius had already done this all the year before, Regulus being younger this was his first year.
"Reggie, y'a know I can get you into the carriage with me and my friends, you don't have to sit on your own, wouldn't you prefer some company" Sirius had been trying to get his brother some friends for what felt like forever but despite his efforts Regulus just never seemed interested and would rather stick his head in a book and read.
"I'll be fine on my own Sirius" Regulus scoffed as he rolled his eyes and went to one of the very end carriages and sat in an empty compartment on his own, he sat sideways on the seat and propped his legs up so his knees almost touched his chest.
He reached into his black leather satchel and pulled out his favourite book titled 'The Cruel Prince' He flicked the pages to where the bookmark lay and begun to read. Him and his brother were two of the first the board so by the time the train begun to move Regulus was already deeply into the book.
The train started with a jolt causing Regulus to drop the book, he groaned and reached down picking it up, as he sat back up he heard a loud crash, out of curiosity he placed his book down gently and walked to the door of his compartment which he had left open.
"Stupefy!" Severus called out, James jumped out of the way of the spell and laughed
"You fucking missed Snivellu-"
A loud thud is heard behind him
James quickly spun around "You fucking hit a first year! Well done Snivellus you fucked up again!"
James ran over to Regulus who lay unconscious, he turned him over to make sure there weren't any serious injuries on him "Rennervate" James pointed his wand at Regulus as he called out the words for the spell.
Regulus slowly sat up groggily, unsure as to what happened, James helped him to his feet and took him back into the empty compartment "You okay kid? Sorry about that, Severus is a prick, he tried to Stupefy me not you" he sat Regulus down on the seat.
"Sorry again!" James called out as he shut the door to the compartment and left.
Regulus sat there stunned, unsure what happened and unsure who he had just spoken to, but all he knew was the presence that he gave off was none like had ever felt before, it was warm and radiant, his eyes a mixture brown, green and gold, hazel Regulus has guessed, his hair messy and wild from the fight he had with Severus in the hallways of the carriage.

James entered the compartment where Sirius, Peter and Remus were, he was sweating and it caused Sirius to cover his own nose
"Jesus Prongs what we're you doing? A heavy work out before getting on the train? We thought you had missed it" Sirius questioned while trying not to throw up "God you need a shower" Sirius gagged as he spoke
"Actually for your information Pads I was fighting Snivellus who cast a stupefy spell at me" James laughed as he sat besides Peter who's scooted himself away from James
"If he cast a Stupefy then you should be unconscious right now James, did he miss?" Remus questioned while he passed deodorant to James "take it, you need it"
James took the deodorant and began to spray himself "yeah he missed me, hit a poor first year though, kid was so confused he couldn't even talk" James laughed slightly as he placed the deodorant back down on the table "Come to think of it Sirius, he looked kinda like you, just smaller, and more attractive" James laughed again not realising he was talking about Sirius' brother
"Wait- was he in a compartment on his own? A book with him?" Sirius questioned as he stood up, disregarding the attractive statement
"Uhh yeah why? Do you know him pads?" James looked up confused, wondering why Sirius was so concerned
"Fucking hell prongs that was my brother!" Sirius quickly left the compartment and walked to the end carriage and Into the compartment where Regulus was sat.
"Reggie! Are you okay?! James told me what happened!" Sirius spoke in a panic as he checked his brother for cuts and bruises "Did you hit your head? Did you get checked at all? You could've seriously been hurt!"
"His name is James?" Regulus looked up from his book and at Sirius "The one who helped me, brown messy hair, hazel eyes? His name is James?" Regulus questioned with some excitement in his voice
"Yeah he's one of my best friends, he's stupid he didn't realise you were my brother as he was telling me what happened he just presumed you looked like me" Sirius laughed "but you're alright?"
"Yeah I'm okay, can you thank James for me, I didn't get the chance to" Regulus responded as he went back to reading his book
"Yeah sure, be more careful though Reggie, If you hear fighting just close the door and don't go investigate that's how you get hurt" Sirius sighed as he went back to Remus, Peter and James
"Sirius I didn't know he was your brother I swear- is he okay?" James looked up in a panic
"Don't worry Prongs, Reggie is a tough one, he didn't get hurt he's alright, he told me to tell you he says thank you for helping him" Sirius sat back down besides Remus as he spoke
"I'm glad Regulus is oka- JAMES DONT DRINK THAT-" Remus flinched as James fell into a deep sleep after drinking a bottle that was in front of him "That was the Draught of Living Death potion" Remus rubbed his fingers between his eyebrows "I'll brew a counter potion"
Sirius burst into to laughter watching as James slid out the seat while asleep he was now lay on the ground
"Moony he's a bloody idiot!" Sirius was laughing hysterically as he spoke, he held his stomach and was crying due to laughing so hard
Remus looked at Sirius and smiled "You're both a pair of idiot" he shook his head and began mixing different things to create the counter potion "I'll give him the potion before we arrive, he can stay asleep for now"
