The unanswered question
“Euphemia, please just give me us a chance, we can leave here go and live somewhere no one would find us. We can be together, you just need to say the words and I’m yours.” I pleaded; my hands gently wrapped around hers. “Lyra, we can’t, I wish I could say yes…” “then do, say yes “I interrupted her. She looked down at me a look of sadness pooled in her eyes. “Your family would never allow it, they would hunt you down, we both know they would never let you live in peace”. I moved my hands to cup her face, “they have Walburga, my perfect little sister who can do no wrong in their eyes, they will be happy to tell everyone that I’m dead or something equally as distasteful.” I lightly joke looking hopefully into her eyes. “You would just leave your sister here with them, if you leave, they will just focus on her.” I huffed and stepped away from her “She will be fine, she may end up hating me but they wouldn’t risk losing her, not when they can’t have another heir.” She pulled me back to her “It would break her to lose you.” I clenched my fists “So what, I’m just supposed to marry Regulus Black and birth his children, I would sooner throw myself off a cliff.” I spit out. “Let’s not talk about this now, we’re on our holidays with our family right now, let’s talk about this when we get back home, let’s just enjoy our time right now.” She begged me. I sighed giving into her wishes, “Just promise me we will talk about this when we get back.” She nodded at me before pulling me flush against her knitting her fingers through my black curly hair, her fingers tugging my hair at the roots, sending a painful pleasure running down my spine. Her lips captured mine in a possessive dance, chasing away any doubts from my mind. She backed me up against the cupboard her legs slotting in between mine. She broke the kiss traling a line of kisses down to my neck where she nipped at the nape of my neck drawing out a moan from me. She marked my skin before pulling away, smirking down at me. The moment ended all too soon, for my liking as she ruined the moment “Come on, we need to go out and join everyone else before they notice that we’re gone.” I smile letting out a light laugh “I’m going to go down to the beach, I’m going to take Burga down to the beach there’s a really pretty place you can go on a hike that shows a really beautiful sunset, do you want to join or are you going to join your family?” I asked digging though my beach house room cupboard for a costume to wear under my sun dress. “I need to go and talk with Fleamont, but we’ll join you there just before the sun sets.” I groaned “Did you have to bring him up.” She gave me a pointed look. I rolled my eyes and began to strip, “I’ll see the both of you later.” I say, ending the conversation. She sighed “I love you Lyra, but we have to be careful and he agreed to help us.” I didn’t answer her jealousy clouding my judgement. “Fine, we’ll talk about this later, I’ll see you later and Lyra, I love you, not him and he wants to help us be together.” She says closing the door behind her. I groaned letting my head fall forwards hitting my head against the cupboard door. “Oh, Merlin and Morgana please help me get through this week without murdering someone she loves, ugh this is such a mess."
