Did You Dress Up For Halloween?
Delilah
Delilah,
Thank you for your owl dear. Yes, your uncle and I were informed of the incident. We beg of you, Theo, and Draco to lay low this year, for your own good. Things are beginning to get scary, and I need to know my children are alright for now. However, I understand your frustrations. You remind me of your mother more and more every day. She would be so very proud of you, my dear. Please let your brother know that he forgot his extra set of robes so he should be receiving those in the post soon. We miss all 3 of you very much and we look forward to seeing you over Christmas.
Love,
Narcissa

The rest of September came and went without much trouble. Mattheo hasn’t had any trouble with his dad yet, which is good. Everyone was just falling back into step after the long break.
The weather started getting colder in October, just in time for Quidditch season. The first match was Hufflepuff v. Ravenclaw, which Hufflepuff won despite Ravenclaw catching the snitch. My hand hasn’t gotten any better, but at the same time it hasn’t gotten worse, so I’ll take that as a good sign.
As I read the letter from my aunt, I sighed. The tardiness of her reply puzzled me a little, but as Aunt Cissa said, things were scary. Maybe she didn’t have an opportunity until now. And of course Theo forgot something. I would let him know later. I slipped the parchment back in the envelope and stuffed it in my robe, turning my attention back to the Divination books and notes spread out in front of me.
“Are you seriously still studying for Divination? I told you when you first decided to take it that it was rubbish, Dee.”
I turned to see Draco leaning against the doorway with his eyebrow raised.
“Well I like it. It’s more interesting than Runes.” I said and he frowned.
“I like Runes.” He said, offended. He walked over and plopped on the floor beside me.
“Didn’t you have a date with Tori tonight?” I asked.
“Yes, but apparently she had to work on a project with some Ravenclaw bloke for charms.” He huffed, and I gave him a look. “Don’t do that.” He said.
“Do what?”
“Taunt me. I’m not a child. I know she’s just working.” He said and I squeezed his hand.
“You need to trust her, Drake. She loves you, has she not shown that enough?”
Draco sighed, running a hand down his face.
“I know, I know she does. I’m just- I don’t know.”
I gave him a sad smile and nodded.
“I know. It’s ok. Do you want some tea? I was gonna go down to the kitchens anyway.”
“That would be lovely, actually. Thank you Dee.”
“Of course.” I said, stacking everything in a pile and putting it on the coffee table.
“So, your mother owled me today.” I said when we had begun our walk.
“Did she now?”
“Mhm,” I nodded. “She just told me to keep laying low. Apparently it’s getting scarier by the day out there.” I said, frowning.
“Yeah, Blaise told me Luna’s father wants to bring her home already.” Draco said, and I shook my head.
“What is this life? No, seriously, what are we doing? We’re sitting ducks.”
“Well, that’s really all we can do at the moment, Delilah. Just be patient, when you and Theo turn 16 this will all start to click in place, I promise.” Draco said.
He’s right. 3 months. That’s when Theo and I turn 16. Then we can start to get serious about this death eater stuff.
“Speaking of turning 16, it’s coming up. Do you know what you want yet?” He added.
“No, not really. I just want to have you guys there.” I said.
“Well duh, that’s a no brainer Lilah. What do you want, material wise?”
“I’ll have to think about it, Drake. I’ll let you know.”
“Well get on with it, Nott. I need time to plan.” He said, and I chuckled.
“I’ll do my best.”

Halloween was fast approaching. Every year, one of the houses is responsible for the party. It’s Slytherins year, which means we have an extra eventful 2 days as Blaise’s birthday is on November 1st.
“Have you figured out a costume yet?” Natalia asked.
I shook my head. “Mattheo and I never agreed on anything. I’ll ask him at dinner. How about you?”
“I think we’re just gonna be vampires.” She said and I nodded.
“That’s never a bad one.”
I have never been a big Halloween person, but Mattheo is. Therefore, I have had to adapt. There’s a knock at the door and I hop up to answer it. Mattheo and Draco stood on the other side, big goofy grins on their faces.
I sighed, waiting for one of them to speak.
“You’ll never guess what just happened.” Mattheo said.
“What happened?” I ask, unimpressed.
“Professor Umbridge just asked us to be the leaders of her new Inquisitorial Squad.” Draco said, showing me a shiny silver badge.
Oh my godric, are they completely daft?
“Oh, good for you, boys.” I said, trying to mask my annoyance.
“It’s great! We get to assign detentions and take house points!” Mattheo said, grinning and I almost smacked him then and there.
“It’s brilliant.” Draco said, and I gave him a smile that secretly said “walk away or I will scream”.
I don’t think he cracked the code, but they left the next minute anyway.
I huff and slam the door shut once they’re out of sight.
“Woah, what’s got your wand in a twist, Dee?” Pansy asked, walking out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel.
“Nothing, I’m fine.”
Pansy rolled her eyes, but she didn’t push anymore.
