Chapter 2 Sirius
It was only day five of the Christmas holidays, and Sirius was already bored. He couldn't even talk to his friends because his mother had forbidden it.
Sirius remembered what his mother said when he was in his first year and asked why he wasn't allowed to speak to his friends over the Christmas holidays.
"I'm not having you talk to blood traitors, half-bloods, or other undesirables. You are from the noble house of Black, and you must start acting like it. You are to only talk to and be friends with people of the same lineage and blood status as yourself." Warburga shouted.
His mother kept him in his room most of the day; the only time he was allowed out was if she wanted to punish him for something, to study in the library, and to learn Latin.
Sirius remembered what his mother had always said when he told her he didn't want to study Latin.
"You must get this right. You must be fluent in Latin by the time you finish school. It's in your heritage, and our family motto, which is French, stands for always pure. You must learn this." Warburga demanded.
Sirius's mother went out a few hours ago to see some friends, so Sirius decided it would be the perfect time to pull a prank on the elves. It would give him a bit of fun, and he wouldn't be punished for it because she wasn't here.
He quickly planned it out and headed downstairs. Halfway down the stairs, he was stopped by someone calling after him. He turned and saw Regulus at the top of the stairs.
"Whatever you're planning, don't do it. You know she'll be angry," Regulus told Sirius.
"I'm not planning anything. What makes you think I am?" Sirius asked.
"Because it's you, you're always planning something, and the odd time you're not, you've already done it," Regulus told Sirius.
"Don't worry about it. Go and be the goody two shoes that you are, whatever makes Mum and Dad proud," Sirius told Regulus.
"Maybe you should try it, then you wouldn't get into so much trouble," Regulus told Sirius.
"I'm not going to be like them blood supremacists and be forced to marry my cousin—no thank you, I'm good," Sirius told Regulus.
"I wouldn't really have to marry my cousin, would I? Andromeda told me I would, but I thought she was joking." Regulus asked Sirius.
"What do you think Mum and Dad are? Their cousins so are several members of the family; what do you think the whole always pure thing means? If you run out of people to get married to outside of the family, they start making you marry your cousins," Sirius told Regulus.
"I thought she was joking, you know, trying to wind me up," Regulus told Sirius.
"You can choose what you want to believe, Reggie. I need to do this before Mum gets back," Sirius told Regulus.
"Whatever you're doing, don't get me involved; I don't want to be punished for something that you're doing," Regulus told Sirius.
"I'm not going to, so don't worry, and you can go and be little Mr Perfect somewhere else," Sirius told Regulus.
Sirius walked off to find the elves, but halfway through the prank, he suddenly heard stomping down the hallway. He turned around to come face-to-face with his mother, who had returned early.
Her eyes were filled with hatred and rage. The last thing Sirius registered was a wand appearing in front of him. A bright light appearing, and then everything went dark.
