Stark Tower

Tony wanted to throw something. Preferably at the fat whale in front of him. Something lethal.

“What the hell do you mean ‘he ran off’?!?!” Tony spat at Dursley. “We just spent an hour confirming that I have a child that you have custody of, through records and DNA samples, and you have the fucking audacity to tell me that you don’t know where my kid is?”

“Mr. Stark, you have to understand, your son is a troublemaker. He bullies my poor Duddykins and has gotten in trouble countless times from his school. When he was threatened with expulsion, I decided to pull him out and send him to a boarding school, but I’m afraid it didn't help the poor boy. He’s always been a little addled in the head, and we should have predicted he would run off,” The horse-faced woman started.

“I see,” Pepper said, and Tony gave the Dursley’s the sharpest glare he could muster.

“That is absolute bullshit. Harry has no records after you pulled him out of primary, save for a single passport photo taken last summer. CPS has been called to your household multiple times, only to leave with incomplete reports and only good things to say. You must have some friends in high places, Dursley, to make CPS look the other way for what is obviously child neglect. Harry received marvelous grades, and only had good things in his report until a sudden drop in grades - what a strange thing! Your fault, I presume. Records show my son was on that flight to New York, so he is here, in a new country, all alone,” Tony said, breathing heavily. “Now tell me. Where the fuck is my son?!”

“I’ll tell you what I know for fifty thousand pounds,” The walrus-looking one said smugly.

“I think your mental capacity must be subpar, Mr. Dursley. Don’t you understand? You are in no position to bargain!” Pepper said, staring down the Dursley’s from Tony’s side. The small conference room felt even smaller as it sunk in. His son - no, Harry. Harry was somewhere in this damn city, alone. Tony needed to get out there and look for him, not waste time on these motherfuckers.

“You tell Pepper everything she wants to know or I will charge you for child neglect and rip your fucking life apart,” Tony threatened. “Pepper, get everything you can out of these fuckers. I need to find my son,”

Tony saw Pepper nod, and he started toward his lab. His workbench was crowded with half-finished projects and tools, his cars sat half-dismantled, and even Dum-E was in the middle of an upload. Tony’s lab was coated with things that were half-done - it screamed of unfinished business.

Like the universe had known. Known he had shit to do.

And now he had the most important project of his fucking career. Finding his son.

Tony pulled up a hologram of Manhattan, highlighting all the cameras and subway routes.

He needed to start with hacking into the hotel’s cameras to see what happened for himself. He needed to do something, anything. He may not know Harry yet, and he may not deserve him, but he’ll be damned if he leaves his son out there alone.

Tony got to work.
