Greek mornings

Beth woke slowly.

The light in the room was soft, filtering through the curtains in pale gold. The sheets were warm and tangled around her legs, but it was the weight of Viv behind her that she felt first. Warm skin pressed against her back, one leg tucked between hers, an arm draped over her waist like it had been there all night.

But mostly, she woke to Viv.

She was everywhere.

Pressed behind her, warm and loose-limbed, one arm tight around Beth’s waist. Their bodies were tangled together beneath the thin sheet, skin against skin, heat between them. Viv’s leg was hooked around hers, her breath steady against the back of Beth’s neck.

And her hand was moving.

It wasn’t urgent, not at first. Just slow, almost absent-minded — palm smoothing across Beth’s stomach, drifting up over her ribs, then back down to the dip of her waist. But she wasn’t just holding her. She was exploring.

Beth hummed, a soft sound in the quiet. She didn’t open her eyes yet — just leaned back a little, into the heat of her.

“Good morning,” she mumbled, her voice thick with sleep.

Viv kissed her shoulder, lips warm and soft. “Morning,” she whispered, low and quiet, like it was only meant for the space between them. Her hand splayed out more now, fingers gliding slowly back down Beth’s body. “Didn’t mean to wake you.”

“You didn’t,” Beth murmured. “Just... couldn’t stay asleep with you touching me like that.”

Viv kissed her again, this time higher — the curve of her neck. “You were warm,” she said, hand tracing over the dip of Beth’s waist. “Soft. Naked. I couldn’t stop touching you, even in my sleep.”

Her fingers moved lower now, slow and deliberate, brushing over Beth’s stomach and dipping beneath the thin sheet. She wasn’t rushing. She didn’t need to. Every touch was calm, certain, like she already knew Beth wouldn’t stop her.

Beth let out a soft breath, her body relaxing more with each pass of Viv’s hand.

“I kept waking up needing you again,” Viv whispered. Her palm pressed flat against Beth’s lower stomach, fingers teasing at the edge of her thigh. “I tried to ignore it. Thought I could wait.”

Beth turned her head slightly on the pillow, just enough to glance back at her. Her voice was quiet. “But you couldn’t?”

Viv kissed the back of her shoulder. “No,” she said simply, truthfully. “Last night didn’t even come close to being enough.”

Beth didn’t say anything. She didn’t need to — not when Viv’s hand was slipping between her legs now, slow and soft, her fingers just barely brushing over her.

She let out a low breath against Beth’s neck, her voice soft but certain. “You’re already wet.”

Beth’s lips curved into a sleepy, breathless smile. “It’s hard not to be,” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper, “when you touch me like that.”

Viv leaned in again, lips brushing against her ear now. “If you give me the strap,” she whispered, “I’ll make it easy. I’ll stay on top, go slow. You don’t even have to move.”

Beth swallowed, her throat dry. “You’re serious?”

Viv nodded against her. “I just want to feel you again. Let you fall apart slowly. One orgasm. That’s all I’m asking.”

Beth’s fingers curled into the sheets. “I was going to say we should go down for breakfast…”

Viv smiled against her skin, kissing along her shoulder again. “Do you really want to walk away from this for scrambled eggs?”

Beth laughed softly, even as her hips pushed into Viv’s hand. “They have those pastries I love.”

“I’ll give you something better than pastries,” Viv whispered. “Let me give you one. Just one. And then I’ll take you to breakfast myself.”

Beth bit her lip, eyes fluttering shut. “You promise? Just one?”

Viv kissed her neck again, her hand cupping between Beth’s thighs now, firmer. “I promise. Just one. And later... when we’re back up here...” She paused, kissing behind Beth’s ear, her voice dropping even lower. “You’ll let me take my time. However I want.”

Beth moaned softly, already halfway gone. “Okay,” she whispered. “Okay. Just one.”

Viv shifted then, gently guiding Beth onto her back. Her hand never left her body — her palm warm and steady, her mouth kissing across Beth’s collarbone as she settled over her.

Beth reached down over the side of the bed, fingers searching the floor until they brushed against the strap they’d left there the night before. She picked it up slowly, her hand already warm with anticipation, and passed it to Viv without a word — just a look.

Viv took it with both hands, her eyes on Beth like she couldn’t believe she was being given permission all over again.

She slipped off the covers and moved back onto her knees, adjusting the harness, sliding the straps into place around her hips. She tightened it without fumbling — confident now, practiced — but her hands lingered, her breath already picking up. When she was done, she moved over Beth again, bracing herself above her, gaze dark and steady.

Beth parted her legs, her hands lightly trailing down Viv’s sides. Viv brought the tip of the strap down slowly, lining it up, letting it press softly against Beth’s entrance.

“Can I?” she asked quietly.

Beth nodded. “Yes.”

Viv pushed forward slowly, easing in inch by inch, her eyes locked on Beth’s. Beth’s head tipped back, a soft gasp slipping past her lips as she stretched open, warm and ready.

They stayed like that for a second — Viv inside her, Beth holding her close, their bodies perfectly still. Then Beth opened her eyes, breath catching.

“Do you like this one?” she asked, voice breathy. “The fact that it vibrates for you too?”

Viv nodded, her hips rolling slightly as she began to move. “More than I thought I would,” she admitted, voice rough. “It’s… it’s kind of hard not to finish too fast.”

Beth smiled through a soft moan. “That wouldn’t bother me.”

Viv kissed her gently, maintaining the slow, deep pace of her thrusts. “It would bother me,” she whispered. “Finishing before you… that’d be kind of embarrassing.”

Beth cupped her cheek, kissed her again. “It wouldn’t be,” she said between kisses, her voice growing shakier with each thrust. “It’d be hot.”

Viv groaned low in her throat, trying to stay steady. Beth reached down between them, fingers brushing the side of the harness — and clicked the button.

The vibration started instantly, low and steady.

Viv gasped, her hips jerking harder than she meant to, thrusting into Beth rougher, deeper.

Beth moaned loud, her nails dragging lightly down Viv’s back. “Oh—fuck.”

Viv froze, her face buried in Beth’s neck. “Shit. I didn’t mean to—”

“Don’t,” Beth said quickly, breathless. “I don’t mind. I liked it.”

Viv exhaled hard, like she was barely hanging on. She began moving again, still trying to stay slow, but Beth could feel it — the way her rhythm was faltering, the way her hands gripped harder at her hips, her breathing more ragged.

“You feel... fuck, Beth,” Viv whispered, her lips brushing along Beth’s jaw. “You feel so good. You’re so warm. So soft.”

Beth’s hands were moving up and down her back now, fingertips trailing over the ridges of her spine. She could feel how hard Viv was trying to hold herself back — the tension in her muscles, the low sounds she was trying to stifle.

“You’re doing so good,” Beth whispered, kissing her cheek. “But you don’t have to be so careful with me.”

Viv groaned into her shoulder. “I’m really trying to be good.”

Beth kissed the side of her neck. “Do you want to go faster?”

“Yes,” Viv said through clenched teeth. “God, yes. But I’m trying to stay in it. I want you to feel everything. I don’t want to rush this.”

Beth cupped her jaw, pulling her in for another deep kiss, her body already trembling slightly beneath her. “Then lose it with me,” she whispered. “Let go. I want you like that.”

Viv kissed her harder now, her rhythm starting to pick up. “If I let go…” she warned, groaning, “I might not last.”

“I don’t care,” Beth said, her breath hitching. “I want it. I want you.”

Viv cursed under her breath, her grip tightening around Beth’s waist as her hips began to snap faster, deeper.

Beth cried out, her hands flying to Viv’s back, gripping hard as she moaned. “Yes—just like that.”

Viv didn’t change position, didn’t pull away — she just leaned closer, keeping their foreheads pressed together, eyes slipping shut as she thrust harder, her breath falling apart.

Beth’s body was shaking now, her moans louder, her back arching to meet every movement. She went to reach between her legs — but Viv caught her wrist mid-air.

“Don’t,” Viv said through a groan. “I want you to finish just with me. Nothing else.”

Beth let out a high-pitched sound, overwhelmed, and nodded quickly. “Okay. Okay. Just—keep going.”

Viv did.

Beth’s legs tightened around her, her breath coming fast and desperate. “I think— I need it rougher,” she gasped. “Just a little.”

Viv groaned like it physically hurt her to hear that. “Beth... fuck...”

“I can take it,” Beth whispered, eyes locked on hers. “Please. Don’t hold back.”

Viv kissed her, almost desperate now, and shifted her weight to thrust harder, deeper, each movement more erratic — losing control with every second.

Beth was panting now, her voice breaking. “Viv, oh my God—don’t stop.”

Viv groaned again, loud this time, close to breaking. “I— I need to come—”

Beth’s hands flew to her back. “Just a couple more thrusts,” she begged, breathless. “Please—please, I’m almost—”

Viv groaned through clenched teeth, her whole body tensed like she was holding herself together by the thinnest thread. But she listened — she gave Beth what she asked for.

One thrust. Then another. Deeper. Harder. The angle hitting just right.

Beth shattered.

Her whole body arched off the bed as she came, loud and raw, her fingers clawing at Viv’s back. “Oh my God—Viv—fuck, don’t stop—don’t stop—”

Viv couldn’t have stopped if she tried. The sound of Beth coming undone beneath her — the desperation in her voice, the way her body pulsed around her — was enough to destroy whatever control she had left.

Viv gasped, barely managing another few sloppy, desperate thrusts before the orgasm crashed into her.

Her moan broke into something half-wrecked, half-primal as her hips jerked forward once, twice—then she buried her face in Beth’s neck, body trembling violently as she came, riding out the last waves with a quiet, strangled groan.

They stayed there, tangled and shaking, nothing but harsh breathing between them.

Viv didn’t move, still inside her, forehead pressed to Beth’s shoulder, arms limp from the way she’d clung to her.

Beth blinked up at the ceiling, chest heaving, hands still gently trailing down Viv’s back.

Neither of them said a word for a long, long moment.

Then Beth, her voice hoarse and low: “That was… Jesus.”

Viv let out a quiet, exhausted laugh into her neck. “Yeah,” she whispered, breath still stuttering. “Same.”

Beth smiled, closing her eyes, letting the weight of Viv settle on her fully.

For a moment, she didn’t move — just lay there, trying to quiet everything inside her.

Then slowly, gently, she shifted her hips, easing herself out. Beth let out a quiet breath at the sensation, her fingers curling softly into Viv’s back.

“Sorry,” Viv whispered against her skin, almost reflexively.

Beth shook her head, too blissed out to form full words yet. Just a low hum of reassurance as she let her hands slide down Viv’s sides, grounding her.

Viv moved carefully, reaching around her hips to unclasp the strap and slide it off. Her fingers were still trembling a little as she pulled the harness away and placed it on the floor beside the bed with a soft thud. She sat back on her knees briefly, her chest rising and falling in heavy waves, then tipped herself down onto the mattress beside Beth with a long exhale, landing on her back like all her bones had gone soft.

Beth turned her head to watch her, still catching her own breath, eyes warm and a little amused. After a second, she pushed herself up slowly, crawling across the sheets toward her, dragging the corner of the blanket behind her like a lazy cat.

She leaned over Viv and rested a hand on her stomach, her fingers splaying gently across bare skin.

She leaned over Viv and rested a hand on her stomach, her fingers splaying gently across bare skin.

“You did so well,” Beth murmured, voice low and affectionate. She pressed a soft kiss to Viv’s jaw. “I love how you use the strap. And how you held yourself back for me.”

Viv exhaled a breathy sound, almost like a laugh, though there was something vulnerable behind it.

“I really tried,” she said quietly. “It was… hard.” she admitted, voice rough but tender. “You were saying things I wasn’t emotionally prepared to hear mid-thrust.”

Beth traced slow, lazy circles just under her ribs. “You didn’t show it. Not until the very end.”

Viv huffed, still breathless. “I really thought I was going to finish the second you turned the damn vibration on.”

Beth smiled against her shoulder, her fingers dragging lightly down the center of Viv’s chest. “Yeah, I kind of guessed that when your whole body jolted and you nearly folded me in half.”

Viv let out a low groan, covering her face with one hand. “God, don’t remind me.”

Beth laughed softly, kissing the edge of her jaw. “Why? It was hot.”

“It was almost embarrassing.”

“It was really hot,” Beth repeated, grinning now. “I was this close to losing it just from the sound you made.”

Viv let out a quiet hum, then turned her head, meeting Beth’s gaze with something softer. “I really wanted to make sure you got there first.”

Beth leaned down and kissed her — slow and warm, her palm sliding up Viv’s side.

Viv kissed her back, deepening it almost immediately. Her hand moved to cup Beth’s waist, pulling her in, her mouth opening just slightly against hers.

They stayed like that for a few seconds, letting the kiss stretch — unhurried and heavy with heat.

Beth was the one who eventually pulled back, just a little breathless. “I’m a bit hungry, love.”

Viv blinked, clearly still catching up. “Right,” she murmured. “Yeah. Breakfast.”

Beth leaned in and kissed her again, quickly this time, more playful.

Viv groaned softly. “Okay, we need to stop,” she muttered, not letting go of her waist. “If we don’t, I’m definitely going to break my promise.”

Beth giggled, resting her forehead to Viv’s. “One orgasm only, remember?”

“Barely,” Viv mumbled.

Beth was halfway through pulling on her shorts, shirt bunched in one hand, when she suddenly stilled. Her brow furrowed. One socked foot hovered just off the floor. She tilted her head slightly, eyes narrowing.

Viv, sitting at the edge of the bed and adjusting her watch, glanced over. “What’s wrong?”

Beth didn’t answer right away. She was too focused on whatever she was hearing. A faint voice, maybe two — muffled but definitely human — filtering through the still air of the room.

“…You hear that?” she asked after a second, her voice soft but alert.

Viv paused, listened. After a moment, she caught it too — low, distant chatter. Maybe laughter. It was hard to tell exactly where it was coming from. Could’ve been the room next door. Could’ve been one floor down.

Beth squinted toward the wall. “I can’t tell where it’s coming from. But I can hear it.”

Viv blinked. “Okay… and?”

Beth slowly turned to look at her, one hand still holding the hem of her shirt. “Viv. Ten minutes ago I was flat on my back moaning things that should not have an audience.”

Viv’s eyes widened a fraction. “Oh.”

Beth pulled her shirt over her head. “Yeah. Oh.”

Viv cleared her throat. “Okay, but… maybe it’s coming from downstairs.”

“Maybe,” Beth echoed. “Or maybe the couple next door — you know, the ones we passed in the hallway yesterday? Maybe they just got treated to a full audio experience of me begging you not to stop.”

Viv’s mouth opened, then closed. She flushed pink. “Okay, yeah. That’s… not ideal.”

Beth tugged her shorts up, clearly spiraling now. “And it’s the morning, Viv. People are awake. There could be kids. Families. Elderly couples who came here for peace and quiet. And I was over here shouting ‘please ruin me’ like I was in a damn pay-per-view.”

Viv laughed, just once — surprised and helpless — before quickly covering her mouth. “I mean… you were kind of loud.”

Beth groaned into her hands. “Oh god.”

“But,” Viv added quickly, crossing the room to brush her fingers lightly down Beth’s arm, “it was really, really hot.”

Beth looked at her, exasperated but fond. “You’re so unhelpful.”

Viv grinned. “I try.”

They finished getting dressed with a bit more urgency, avoiding eye contact every time the conversation replayed in their heads. Beth smoothed her hair. Viv straightened her shirt. They looked at each other like they were about to go commit a crime.

And then Viv opened the door.

Beth followed — only to come face to face with the exact couple from next door. They were stepping out of their room at the same time, both already dressed for the day, lanyards and a city guide in hand. The woman gave them a perfectly polite smile. The man nodded once. Neither of them said anything suspicious.

But the smile was just a little too knowing.

“Morning,” the woman said brightly.

Beth’s smile was tight. “Morning.”

As the couple turned toward the elevator, Beth turned sharply in the other direction and muttered under her breath, “We’re taking the stairs.”

Viv blinked. “Wait, what—”

“I’m not getting in an elevator with those people after they just heard me moaning for—I don’t even know how long,” Beth hissed, already pulling her toward the stairwell.

Viv didn’t argue. “Yeah. No. Fair.”

“They’re old enough to be our parents,” Beth muttered, shoving the stairwell door open and nearly tripping over herself on the first step. “Next time, we’re renting a place in the middle of nowhere. No neighbors. No families. No grandmas trying to enjoy a peaceful breakfast.”

Viv laughed under her breath. “Deal.”

They descended a few more steps in silence before Viv bumped her shoulder gently against Beth’s. “So… does that mean we can’t do it again?”

Beth shot her a sideways glance. “I didn’t say that.”

Viv grinned. “So you’re saying there’s hope.”

“We just need to be more careful,” Beth said, sighing a little. “With the noise.”

Viv leaned in, her voice low. “And how exactly do we do that?”

Beth flushed but kept walking. “I don’t know. You could cover my mouth. Or I could bite a pillow. Something. Anything. Just… keep me a little quieter.”

Viv slid closer, mouth brushing her jaw. “But I like hearing you.”

Beth shivered at the contact. “You still can. Just not, you know, echoing through the hotel at ten a.m.”

Viv pressed another kiss to her jaw, then one to her neck. “That was barely echoing.”

Beth slowed on the landing, giving her a warning look. “Babe. We have to stop, or this is going to turn into round two in the hotel stairwell.”

Viv groaned but stepped back, hands raised. “Okay. Okay. No stairwell sex. Got it.”

They kept walking, the stairwell quiet except for the sound of their footsteps and the occasional creak of Beth’s dignity trying to recover.

After a moment, Beth glanced sideways. “What do you think was the most humiliating thing I said that they might’ve heard?”

Viv looked thoughtful. “There were… a few contenders.”

Beth groaned.

Viv grinned. “But I think the winner has to be ‘please cum inside me.’”

Beth stopped dead on the step. “Oh my God.”

Viv raised her brows innocently. “What? You asked.”

Beth pressed a hand to her face. “Jesus. That’s the one you pick?”

“Well,” Viv said, grinning a little, “specifically because now they know we’re both girls.”

They found a small table near the back corner of the breakfast room, tucked just enough to feel like their own little bubble. The windows let in a gentle stream of morning sun, casting light over Beth’s plate — which, unsurprisingly, was already half-filled with flaky pastries and slices of fresh fruit.

Viv sat close, their legs touching under the table, her fork lazily nudging a bite of scrambled eggs around her plate while Beth happily bit into her second croissant. There was powdered sugar on her cheek. Viv didn’t say anything about it — she just reached out and brushed it away with her thumb, soft and casual.

Beth smiled around the bite, humming. “This might be the best thing I’ve ever eaten.”

Viv leaned in a little, voice low. “Better than earlier?”

Beth didn’t even look up. “Different category. Don’t make me rank things.”

Viv chuckled, then finally took a bite of her eggs. They sat like that for a moment, side by side, quiet and full of something softer than just food.

Until Beth’s eyes flicked up and caught a glance from a table a few rows away.

It was the couple. The same couple from the hallway. They were seated at a longer table now, joined by what looked like two friends — maybe more. The woman was mid-sentence, leaning forward just slightly, clearly in the middle of telling a story. Her eyes darted, briefly, unmistakably, toward Beth and Viv.

And then one of the other women at the table looked over too. Not long. Just a glance. But it lingered half a second too long to be accidental. She looked amused. Curious. Maybe a little impressed.

Beth stiffened just a little.

Viv followed her gaze, then immediately turned back to her plate, posture going a bit straighter.

“Oh no,” Beth muttered, reaching blindly for her juice glass.

“They’re definitely talking about us,” Viv said, not looking up.

Beth groaned. “It’s the way she glanced at me and then immediately looked at her friend like, ‘those are the ones I told you about.’”

Viv raised a shoulder, keeping her voice soft. “At least she doesn’t know which of us was saying what.”

Beth didn’t even blink. “It was obviously me.”

Viv turned her head, eyebrows raised. “How would she know that?”

Beth gave her a flat look. “She heard me say good morning, Viv. And you too. They could see it was me.”

Viv winced. “Right. Yeah. Okay, fair.”

Beth picked up her fork again, stabbing a strawberry like it had personally wronged her. “So yeah. I think the mystery’s solved.”

Viv glanced sideways, then leaned in a bit, dropping her voice. “I just hope she’s telling them I did a good job.”

Beth blinked at her. “That’s what you’re thinking about?”

Viv shrugged, unapologetic. “I’m mortified, yes. But if I’m going to be a breakfast table anecdote, I at least want them to know I know how to please my girl.”

Beth huffed, cheeks warm despite herself. She nudged Viv’s thigh under the table. “You don’t have to worry about that,” she said, voice lower now. “I made it very clear.”

Viv’s grin spread slow and wide. “Yeah, you did.”

Beth popped a piece of croissant into her mouth, then added, mouth half full, “Pretty sure her husband is reevaluating his entire skill set right now.”

Viv laughed — quiet and sudden — almost choking on her sip of coffee. “Beth.”

Beth just smirked and shrugged. “What? I’m just saying. There’s a reason she looked impressed.”

Viv grinned, leaning in close enough that Beth could feel her breath. “If he asks for tips, I’m charging.”

Beth raised an eyebrow, fighting a grin. “Oh yeah? What tips would you give him?”

Viv didn’t miss a beat. “First? Listen. I don’t mean pretend to. I mean really listen. Every sound, every breath—your girl will literally tell you everything you need to know without saying a word.”

Beth’s fork paused mid-air. “That’s… weirdly good advice.”

“And lastly,” Viv said, sipping her juice now, “you don’t stop just because you’re tired. You stop when she can’t remember her name.”

Beth nearly dropped her croissant, eyes wide. “Jesus Christ.”

Viv just sipped her juice like she hadn’t said something outrageous. “What? It’s good advice.”

Beth gave her a sidelong look. “I wasn’t. But you keep talking like that and I’m gonna have to drag you back upstairs.”

Viv’s lips curved slowly. “Say the word.”

Beth rolled her eyes and bit into her croissant again. “Eat your eggs, Viv.”
