Journey to Unknown
A Merlin once said that once you have experienced something impossible, anything else will be possible. To Cale Henituse, the quote "Nothing is impossible" is already impossible itself.
Just put in the effort and you'll be able to become whoever you want. Make the impossible possible? Those are just loads of crap.
That didn't mean he despised those who believed in it. Who believe that if they work hard enough, they can achieve anything. Because, unlike him, they continue to walk down a path even if that may or may not have existed all along.
However Cale Henituse is different from Cale Weasley, who is now praying to himself that the voice that called him inside his head is actually just his imagination.
Although Cale has already experienced the "supposed to be impossible" scenario of having tea with a god (and meeting one), he still can't believe himself to be this crazy of a person in his past life.
- Cale, can't you hear me? That him-damned bastard! He said it would be this time. -
Talk to the voice and admit he's insane? Or ignore it until the annoying voice drives him insane? This is an unusual situation for Cale, who usually decides things before they happen.
'Who are you?' He tested, feeling strange about talking inside his mind.
- Oh! Cale! You can finally hear me! You still can't remember me, it seems. -
'Should I suppose to remember you?'
- Yes, ah, no. Well, it's reasonable that you can't remember anything, but... -
The voice's volume inside Cale's head gets lower throughout the sentence. Cale frowned,
'Are you upset?' He tried to remember what he said to upset the voice but could find nothing.
- Ah no! I'm not upset! I'm just, you know, a little sad to know you can't remember us, what we have done together...
'Are we supposed to be in a relationship?' He asked after hearing the 'done together' word.
- Wow... Cale? That Cale is talking about relationships?! Really?!
The previously sad voice became obnoxiously loud to Cale's ears.
'I don't know what do mean, but you're a little lou-'
-That! That's the Cale we know! *Sob* I thought this Noona would never hear that annoyed yet polite voice again.
He wasn't sure why, but he felt offended by that sentence without any reason. He wants to ask what the Noona word is, but he refrains and asks the important question.
'Then, who are you? Are you an underling of that god? Or are you a companion of the previous Cale?'
-Hm... I guess we should start with that. You see, I am one of Cale's powers. We have plenty of time to explain it, so you won't get bombarded with lots of information. However, about me, you can say that I am your shield and wood. Because of me, you can protect people and control the trees. You can call me Glutton. -
That sure will be a lot. There are thousands of questions he wanted to ask, but pick the most essential one for now.
'Do you necessarily need to be in my head? Can't you just have a body and come to me or something?' He asked. Although he knows it is not that "essential" in a sense, it is still essential to know why he needs to sacrifice his inner peace.
-You see, our powers are pretty much connected to your soul and can only be separated once the soul dies. Our voices are the remnants of our power and will vanish once the owner absorbs their full power. However, you, no, Cale, didn't want us to vanish. That's why you can still hear me. -
Glutton explained. However, something in the words bothers Cale the most.
'Hey, you say once the soul dies, you'll be separated, right? Then why are you still here?'
-Cale is as observant as always. However, I can't tell you everything for the time being. That's the deal we had with the gods. Please find out yourself. We'll help you!-
The information he had just learned was already quite extensive, so he didn't bother to ask for more. Moreover, his three brothers, who were previously playing tags are already there with his other brother means they are done with this shop.
"Cale, are you alright? You're looking at nowhere." Percy, his third older brother, asked as he gave the twin and Ron their own new books; with him, carrying Cale's.
"He's always like that, brother. Right, Grenny?"
"Hohoho, you're right, Frale." The two laughed again as Fred held Cale by the waist with both his hands and gave him to Santa George to get a piggy bank.
Ron, on the other hand, silently nodded with his unicorn tail wailing behind him. He knows that once Cale looked blankly like that, meaning that he was sleepy.
"I'm okay to just walk. Aren't I heavy?" Cale asked, although he was already comfortable with the ride.
George then gave him an old man laugh, "Young Cale is as light as a feather! You should gain more weight and exercise more to have this old man's present!"
Cale turned his gaze around and closed it to avoid everyone's fierce nod. "Alright. After you stop pranking anyone."
"That might happen." Cale recognized it was someone from the twin but didn't know who as he had already drifted from sleep.
-You gained another wonderful family, Cale -
Nevertheless, it was such a normal day for Cale without considering the voice in his head named Glutton as a 'strange' occurrence.
Time has gradually passed, and the day of attending Hogwarts has come.
"Hurry up, young men! We'll be late to your first day!" Molly Weasley once again started their day with her lovely shout.
"Hey,hey! Where's Scabbers?"
"Where's my towel?!"
"Why's the shampoo so sticky?!"
"Fred! George! Stop pranking your siblings at times like this!"
"Can we prank them when it's not the 'time like this'?"
"Absolutely not!"
Yesterday, Cale already knew that they would be in a situation like this, so he woke up earlier than usual to prepare ahead of time. That is why he's currently staring blankly at the mess while patting the two kittens on his laps.
His gaze turned to the Daily Prophet that has the front page of the bank of Gringotts. He already finished reading it and looked at the Hogwarts's page.
'Hogwarts, huh?' Cale thought. Although he's pretty excited to learn magic, he still can't get off his head what Glutton has said.
'Can I then ask how and why you are here, then?' Cale asked. He looked at the book of the god on his lap. Nothing inside it still, except for the foreword that he can somehow understand.
He still doesn't know why he needed to know his past or why it was necessary for him. It's not like he'll be going to war like his other self does. He's just going to school, work, and then rest. Nothing special.
- Hm.. Where can I start first? You have a pretty bunch of powers, one that was once mine. Although we are still connected to your soul, we can't communicate or use our power until you meet a certain condition. -
'Certain condition?'
- The others are currently sealed in the other six bearers. Unless you've come in physical contact with one of those, we will not be able to come back. -
'Does that mean I've already touched one?'
- You had. I can't tell what that is because even I have no idea what it is, but there are seven of them for the seven of us. I also don't know the details of what those are, but it shouldn't be that hard to find them like how you find me. -
'Hm.. It seems troublesome, but I guess it won't be bad. There shouldn't be any other consequences if I don't find the others, right?'
- Well, you see, your plate is like your soul, once it's shattered you will die. And having an incomplete elemental power will cause you death. B-but don't worry! We have the crybaby, who's the reason why you haven't been blown up ever since! We just need to unseal him, and we're all fine! -
That doesn't sound reassuring at all. However, Glutton once said that the 'Crybaby' can heal physical wounds, unless it were already there before obtaining the power. For Cale, it will be a useful skill.
- As for why we are here, you can just say we're here to help you regain all our memories from the past. Your companion and I will help you. Promise. -
"Cale! Quit zoning out this time and finish your food! And Ron, Scabbers is at the sink!" Their mother interrupted the flashback in his mind as he continued to eat.
He looks at the red kitten's twinkling eyes, which signify, "Can I eat too?" But he ignored it like it never happened.
His attention gets caught by the coming owl who's coming outside their window. It is not Eroll and is from someone else. The owl passed above him as the letter perfectly fell on his palm. After that, the owl immediately left.
Ron peaked at the letter. "Is that from your unknown friend again?" He asked.
Cale looks at the back of the paper. It has their address and his full name. Michael 'Cale' Weasley. He nodded to confirm that it was his.
"Honestly, why would you do that to someone you don't know? What if he's just planning to kidnap you?" Fred said, against this little friend of his.
"Why would I get kidnapped? It's not like there is something special about me." He said this as the others just shook their heads in defeat.
Cale used the spare knife on his side to open the letter. The handwriting is pretty neat. There's also a bookmark with some dried petal designs inside the envelope.
Dear Cale,
I'm sorry I wasn't able to reply to your letter last week sooner. I've been busy preparing for the day I attend Hogwarts!
I'm glad I've managed to convince my father to have me attend to it instead of somewhere else! We'll be able to see each other again after so many years!
Do you know what house you will be in? My mother said I would be put in Slytherin, and my father said I should. It's not like I wanted to be at the same house as yours, but they said the Weasleys have always been at Gryffindor.
There might be some chance I'll also be at that house, so you don't need to be sad without me. I'm smart enough to be in Ravenclaw like you, and I'm braver than you were in the alley at that time. I hope to see you sooner.
P.S. You said you prefer reading in your free time, so I PERSONALLY made you a bookmark yesterday. You should thank me by using it.
- Your Friend, D.M.
It is quite shorter than usual and much simpler. But Cale preferred it that way as he closed the letter.
He met this 'friend' of his at the alley. He wouldn't call him his friend because he's more of an "adviser" than a friend. However, he's the one who saved Cale from trouble that time.
He remembered that when they first met, he was a bratty brat full of his blood. Now, he's still a brat, but a better brat.
- Cale, do you remember any of your companions? -
A sudden question came from Glutton. Cale is slightly taken aback by it but keeps a stoic face for the others not to notice. It'll be a pain if they ever see him with a slight frown on his face.
'I remember some faces except for their names. Some are blurred, though. Why?'
Cale answered truthfully. He doesn't need to lie about that fact. The only names he saw were foreign-like names and his name. But even if he knew it, he doesn't know them personally at all.
- The GOD asked me to ask you that question. Maybe someone from our world has also been transported here. It's just a hypothesis, but the chance is high, as that god favors you the most. -
'That god? Really? That sounds fishy.'
- It is fishy. But the fishier it sounds, the more fish can be found, right? -
'Haha, I quite like you'
- Oh my! I'll brag about that to Cheapskate! -
Cale, take his words back. He glanced at his plate, which had been emptied a few minutes earlier without him noticing. The ruckus in the house lessened as Mrs. Weasley called her children to get ready.
Cale returned the cats to their pet house and gave them to his mother to put in his luggage. They have arrived at the muggle's normal train station to the platform between 9 and 10.
Cale looked at the ticket on his hand, whose destination was Platform 9 3/4. He looked at the wall of Platform 9 and gulped.
Although he knows that behind that wall, their designated platform will be found, he can't help but be hesitant running into that barrier wall.
Molly seems to have noticed it and patted his head, which he turned his gaze to. "Don't worry. You can just walk there, and I'll do your luggage." She said that, and Cale nodded with a smile of relief.
"Oh! Hurry up! You'll miss the train!" She said this as she looked at the time on a hanging clock on the wall.
"Um.." They heard a voice calling them. They saw a jet black-haired boy with emerald green eyes looking at them expectantly.
Ron recognized the boy. He's the one who bumped into his brother at the shop. Although it wasn't a good first meeting, he seemed to be a good guy. That boy named Harol? Ah no, Harry.
"Oh, dear, is this your first time at Hogwarts?" The boy nodded.
"Well then, listen, all you need to do is walk past through that wall, and you will get to Platform 9 3/4, Easy, right? Percy, you can go first."
The new Griffindor's prefect, Percy, nodded as he firmed his posture and ran towards the P9 wall. The boy seems amazed by what he witnesses, with the youngest red-hair looking grim.
"You go next, Fred, George." Molly pointed at the two.
"Mum, don't leave Cale behind! and I am Fred." 'Fred' said as he waved with 'George' behind him.
"Oh, sorry, George, but Cale's confused face gave it all." Molly smiled as Cale noticed he had frowned in confusion about whether George really was Fred. Even he sometimes switches them if they are intended.
"Oh. That's not fun. But, I'm still Santa Gred HAHAHAH" George laughed and passed through the wall, with Fred following his footsteps.
"You go now, dear, with Ron. You saw what they did, right? That's all you need to do. You can slow down if you're still hesitant."
"Don't worry, ma'am. I can manage it." The boy named Harry smiled, looking at Cale, determined to be a role model and not embarrass himself.
"There you go." Ron got there first, holding his luggage trolley firmly, and also went inside the wall with Harry.
"Well then, shall we go?" Ginny and Cale nodded at the same time. Molly hold their hands and guides them towards the wall.
"Wait for me there." She said as the two held their hands together and started to walk towards the platform's wall. Cale closed his eyes and felt a strange sensation come over him, but then it vanished.
- Oh my, Cale! That toy-like thing looks cool! I've seen that before, where? I forgot! -
Glutton exclaimed, talking about the train. He looked at the crowd of children and could not help but feel a slight headache growing.
He saw his mum finally there and is pushing his luggage. It's not like he's too lazy to have his mom do it, but if he did that, he's sure that they'd wait for a year for him to finish pushing it.
"Are you alright, mum? Do you need help?" Ginny offered after seeing Cale's face.
'Is she blaming me for not pushing it instead?' Cale thought as Glutton just sighs being back to their past business.
"No, I'm fine. George, Fred!" Molly called the twins as they sprinted in their direction.
"Mom! Blimey - You won't believe who we just met earlier. It's Harry, the infamous Harry Potter!" Fred exclaimed as Cale's mind froze for a second.
'Harry, you mean that, right? Haha, I noticed that quite a while ago, but to think he's really that person.' Cale laughed at himself for getting acquainted with a trouble magnet already.
He looked at Ginny and remembered something, "Don't you wanna meet him again? You talk about him a lot after all." He asked, thinking it was strange that she didn't ask to see him again. Ginny contemplated, but shook her head for a second.
"No, I wanna be with you. Can't I come with you, brother?"
"That can't be done this year, but you can come with us next year." Ginny pouted and hugged Cale more tightly on his left arm.
"Oh, that boy. Poor dear, don't you dare ask him something about him, go it?"
"Yes, ma'am, yes, sir!" They saluted as they carried Cale's trunk, with Cale following them. They guide him into the compartment with Ron inside. They heard their mum calling them again, and they got off the train.
"Oh dear, don't forget to eat your meals, alright, Cale? If someone ever bullies you, call your siblings or the professors to take care of them. Don't sleep for more than 10 hours, but also don't overwork yourself. " Their mother bombarded Cale with several reminders, which he listened to haft-heartedly.
"I'm fine, mum. I have my siblings with me. Please don't overwork yourself too." He ended his mom's rant as she sighed with fondness.
"Alright, Fred, George, watch your siblings and don't!- Prank or do anything mischievous again to your siblings or there. Percy, dear, don't let them run wild, alright?"
"I know, mum."
After some time, they heard a loud whistle, telling them that the train would soon leave. Molly smiled again with sadness in it and kissed them in the temple as she hurried them to go to the train.
On the train, Cale looked at their mother and sister as he smiled a little once in a while. He gave something to Ginny and passed it through the open window of the train. The train started to leave.
"We'll be back soon. We'll write you letters." He said as he turned around.
His siblings said goodbye to the two as he walked to find a restroom. After some time, he finally found one and opened it when he felt a hand hold his shoulder. He turned his gaze to see who that person was and saw a white-haired kid looking at him with wide eyes.
"You... Cale?"
