Harry woke to a knocking on his door. Squirting he felt around for his glass on the nightside table. Putting them on his face he struggled out of bed. The knocking had yet to stop. Scrambling down the stairs he made it to the front door. Without bothering to check who it was , he flung it open.
“Draco?” Harry squinted at him standing, hugging himself, on the porch. “What are you doing here?”
“Were you sleeping? You were. I’m sorry . I shouldn’t have come here. I didn’t know where to go. I shouldn’t have woken you. Go back to bed. I’m really sorry.” Draco spat out going a mile a minute.
Harry was reeling trying to catch up. He took a closer look at Draco as he was turning to bolt. He was shaking in the cold, only wearing a t-shirt and jeans, and he looked to have tear marks running down his face. Harry reached out and grabbed Draco’s wrist before he could get very far. He was freezing.
“Draco. Stop. Come here, get inside.” Harry said, pulling him over the threshold of the door. “You’re an icicle.” He closed the door behind them.
“I didn’t mean to wake you.” Draco whispered.
“Well it is one in the morning. Your chances of waking me were higher than average.” Harry replied, laughing lightly. He glazed down at Draco in time to see tears begin to slip out again. “Oh love, I’m kidding. What happened? Are you alright?”
He dragged Draco into a tight hug and ran his hand through his hair. Draco let out a little hiccup and buried his icey nose into Harry’s neck. It made him shiver.
“They wanted me to sign a marriage contract. Have to find another pure blood. I said no. Yelling. I ran out- I forgot my wand. I came here. Sorry. I-I’m sorry. I-” Draco was mumbling into his neck and shaking lightly.
“Ok, ok love. It’s alright. You’re here now. With me. Breath.” Harry started rubbing his back. Draco’s father had been pressuring him to find someone to marry for months. He wanted to keep his family name going. He was also not a patient man.
They had been in fight after fight lately and it was taking its toll on Draco. Lately he had been extra stressed as well as jumpy. Harry knew it was only a matter of time before Draco wouldn’t be able to keep it together.
Sniffling brought him back to the present. He looked down at Draco. His eyes were drooping and Harry was feeling that same way.
“Come on sweetheart. You tired?” He asked. When he received the slightest of nods, he released Draco and grabbed his hand again. Draco pouted but followed Harry up the stairs anyway, wiping his eyes.
When they got to Harry’s room he dropped Draco’s hand and moved to his dresser.
“Here baby. You can wear one of my shirts.” Draco shuffled over and took the jumper out of Harry’s hands with a whispered thank you. He changed quickly and slipped up the covers of the bed. Harry walked to the other side of the bed to join him.
“Come here popsicle.” Harry smiled as he pulled Draco snug against his side. “That’s better.” He cast a wandless heating charm on the sheets to speed up the process.
Draco sighed. Again he whispered a thank you. Harry flicked off the lamp and they relaxed into darkness.
“I'm sorry. For waking you.” Draco whispered in the darkness.
“I’m glad you did.” Harry replied, pressing a kiss to his forehead.
