This is the one part of the job that Celina didn’t like as much, she spent her days driving around with Nolan which she didn’t care about, but he was a man, he didn’t really get it all, although he was a good man and Bailey was a women who kept him educated on everything, but he always just assumed woman were always prepared.
Celina didn’t sleep much recently which is why she’s been staying with Bailey and Nolan(which Lucy didn’t mind), which is also why she forgot to stock up. Her stomach twisted and turned, a mixture of pain and well pain. She took a subtle glance at the older man and momentarily sighed.
She knew she couldn’t keep this pad in much longer and she also knew she should probably be wearing tampons but she was afraid of the toxic shock syndrome and pads made her feel comfortable in herself.
“Nolan come in” Chen said through the radio, which made Celina’s ears perk up, “yeah what’s up” was all Nolan returned with.
Lucy said something about meeting them all for lunch which would be a life saver if it was just her and Lucy, so she could ask the awkward question of ‘do you have a pad’ or whatever. But it wasn’t just her and Lucy it was her and Nolan, and Lucy and Bradford.
Nolan agreed to the lunch meet up and began to drive to the food trucks which wasn't a problem with Celina if there was a bathroom around that area but she wasn’t sure if there was or wasn’t.
Once they had arrived, Celina did the little awkward check the seat and check her ass stance to make sure there was no signs of leaking in this dark ass restricting uniform, which there wasn’t.
They all ordered something from the Mexican food truck, Celina and Lucy got some enchiladas and the men got tacos. They were all talking and laughing at eachothers poor jokes, and how the only calls they had today were drunk calls, prank calls or noise complaints.
Celina looked between Tim and John realising they are deep in conversation, she glanced at Lucy and tapped her knee from under the table so it wasn’t so obvious. Lucy looked up from taking a bite of her enchilada and gave Celina a small smile, “what’s wrong?” She questioned her voice hinted a small waiver of worry.
Celina looked back at the two men then back at Lucy, she bit her lip like a school girl being told off. “I don’t suppose you err.. uuhh?” She started. Lucy tilted her head, confused. “Err?” She replied too Celina, “what’s up?” She asked again confused on why her bubbly Celina was now questioning her question.
“Do you have a .. pad?” She mumbled lowly, shoving some enchilada into her mouth to hide any awkwardness.
Lucy raised her eyebrows and nodded, “yeah back in the shop, I thought you always packed extra do you need some?”
Although Lucy swore by tampons she always carried both, and probably way more than she needed to carry, to the point where Tim rolls his eyes and squished up the boxes trying to fit some protein bars and snacks into the bag.
Celina hummed, “please” she stood, “I forgot to pack extra and didn’t really want to ask Nolan to ask Bailey to then.. you get it right” she grunted lowkey and put the remaining enchilada in the trash because her appetite just disappeared.
Lucy smiled and told the boys that they’d be back, she walked back to the shop with Celina and opened up the trunk, opening the backpack of supplies, “pad or tampon?” She asked, showing Celina the bag loud and proud.
Celina helped herself to a few pads and shoved them in her back pocket, her eyes scanning around for the nearest and safest rest stop. Lucy must of noticed because she let out a small chuckle and mumbled in Celina’s ear “clinic on oak avenue, it’s about 10 minutes away so just ask Nolan to stop cos Bailey usually calls him after his lunch break anyway” she shrugged and closed the truck.
The tanned woman smiled at Lucy and thanked her, while giving her a hug. “You’re a life saver” she chuckled and stretched slightly.
Lucy shrugged innocently and walked back over to the table where the boys were with Celina following close behind her. It wasn’t long after that they all started laughing and causing commotion with one and other before their lunch break ended.
Celina and Nolan were back in the shop which gave her a perfect opportunity to ask for him to stop, as his phone started chiming due to baileys incoming FaceTime. “Sir do you think we could pull over by that clinic I need to use the restroom” she asked politely and Nolan just nodded and pulled over as he answered his wife’s call.
Celina hopped out of the shop and thanked Lucy again in her head, she greeted the person at the front desk and made her way to the restroom.
Once she had made it to the bathroom she could have kissed the pad in-front of her and lowkey wanted to kiss Lucy for giving it to her.
She quickly cleaned herself up and messaged Lucy a long thank you message which included a bunch of ‘thank yous’ and ‘life savers’ and ‘yippees’.
Lucy chuckled at the message and was proud of her stack of supplies.
Celina made her way back to the shop and was greeted by a smiling Nolan and wave from Bailey through the phone, which she happily greeted “hi Bailey!” She smiled and gave her wave in return.
She’d never admit it to anyone but Nolan and Bailey were like the parents she never had, the constant bickering was something that accrued alot in her childhood so it instantly put her at ease, which probably wasn’t what it should do but you know. Life is life and she’s grateful for them both and even more grateful for Lucy’s random stack of menstrual products.
