We Can Do This.
The weather had started out sunny and bright as Astoria Greengrass and her beloved headed hand in hand towards the Magical Blacksmith and his anvil.
They were in sunny Scotland at last and all of the paperwork had been completed and handed over to the awaiting Wizard who waved them to one side to wait their turn.
“Why do I have to wait in a queue?” Astoria pouted and glared at the Wizard who waved her to the end of a long line. She had wanted today to be special but not to have to wait like some lesser being.
“Look Astoria, the queue is not that long really,” her soon to be husband brightened, giving her hand a squeeze as he indicated those in front of them had family and friends along.
The clouds began to gather as they approached their turn to be married. They were still out in the open as the first spits of rain began to fall.
“No magic!” The call came out from the official Wizard giving those waiting in the light drizzle a glare.
Luckily the couple had their bags with them and managed to extract a couple of cloaks. Astoria smiled as her boyfriend wore the Chudley Cannons cape with its bright colours.
Soon they were in front of the anvil and making their vows to one another.
“”Do you Astoria Greengrass take Ronald Billious Weasley to be your lawful wedded husband……”
The magical certificates were signed and witnessed as the couple kissed again delighted to be husband and wife at last.
“I have the International Port Key.” Ron said with a grin holding it up for his new wife to see. “Switzerland. here we come.”
Astoria gasped at the mountains and at the luxurious complex where they would be honeymooning. The staff showed them up to their room. They had a huge sitting area, a private dining room as well as a balcony with its own private seating area and a hot tub.
A celebratory trolly of champagne, Swiss chocolates and fruits as well as a huge floral display welcomed the newlyweds into their suite.
Astoria shrieked with delight as she kissed her new husband, as he scooped her up into his arms as he carried her into their enormous bedroom with equally large bed. There was a bucket of ice with a bottle of champagne with two glasses on the bedside table.
The door was firmly slammed closed and the popping of a cork could be heard amongst the peel of approval from Astoria Weasley.
“At last!” Ron said as he took his wife into his arms and kissed her soundly as his hands roved over her body and under fabric. “I can touch you at long last.”
“I know, but they would have known otherwise-“ Astoria broke off kissing to explain.
“Hush, I knew what I was getting into months ago.” Ron said with a huge smile and kissed her on the lips before letting out a long sigh, then began to voice how he felt. “I waited for you, my sweet AStoria because I l…“
Ron’s declaration of love was rudely interrupted by a parliament of owls pecking at their bedroom window for attention.
They had expected owls once the discovery that they had gone missing but were unaware that the owls could reach them so swiftly.
They had to let the owls in as it was causing a commotion. The owls dropped the mail then swiftly retreated knowing they had carried trouble to the couple.
Ron winced as his mother’s howler screeched at him but his only concern was that she had not wished them well.
Astoria had the most letters compared to Ron and she had listened to her new mother in law’s howler with wide open eyes. She had never heard anything like it before.
She cowered in terror as her parent’s own letter revealed its own howler. She was in big trouble from them. She had hoped they’d forgive her. Apparently not. She had never ever had either parent shout at her like this before.
Other howlers came from many of her friends as well as the Malfoy’s. She began to worry that perhaps breaking the magical contract had been a huge mistake. But she loved Ron so much.
Ron comforted his wife and patted her back and helped clear up her tears. He offered her reassurance that both of their families would come round. He knew his family would once they got over the shock.
“I’ve no money Ron, only what I have in my own personal vault. I thought when I married I’d get my dowry money.”
“Never mind that love,” Ron reassured her with a hug and a kiss. “I am earning enough for both of us and my vault is very full. I’ll take care of you now”
“Can I stay in Switzerland while you continue training?”
Ron laughed and hugged her again. He would agree to anything now he had got the woman he loved and even better she loved him in return and had given up her wealth and her family for him.
“Now where was I before we were so rudely interrupted?” He kissed Astoria and then said, “I love you.” Then proceeded to make love to his wife for the very first time.
They hoped that the next three months they would spend in Switzerland would help ease things with both of their families, before they returned home.
