The decision that changed everything
If there was something Sáva truly hated it was offensive magic. She hated dueling and everything that came with it.
She promised the Order she would be their soldier. What a catastrophic decision it was.
After the attack on the Burrow, they sent her to an unknown location. The new headquarters were confusing and chaotic place.
The demons of children were alive there.
The Golden Trio came back from their mission from Dumbledore after six months.
Even if it was for a short moment.
They hoped they would destroy all of the Hocruxes and end the war swiftly. But that's not the way the war is fought. That's not the way it behaves. And Voldemort was clever than that.
When Harry Potter saw her for the first time in the headquarters, he was confused and surprised. He knew her name and reputation. Twins were her friends but she was loyal to no one.
“What happened?” he asked her.
She only sighed and drank her fifth glass of whiskey. Nothing could burn the aching feeling in her body those days.
The next day they were sent on another mission. It was the first time she was able to do the things they wanted her for so much.
She would never forget the screams of the Deatheaters when she forced them to breathe her Mustard gas of magical invention.
The next weapons Order asked from her were land mines and bombs.
After a while, she couldn't hold herself together anymore.
It was after one of the cleaner missions. Order was apparating back to safety and she was left alone on the battlefield.
There was painful groaning not so far from her. A surviving Deatheater was crawling to perceived safety behind rocks and stones.
She was faster.
When he had seen her he started crying. She only smiled.
Back in her laboratory, from where everyone was banned, she silenced him with anesthesia.
And then she cut and cut and cut.
His body was full of dark magic and all the cells were screaming. She never had seen a more beautiful thing.
It took another six people for Order to find out what she was doing. They would let it pass if she didn't start experimenting with the residual magic of the victims.
They didn't fancy how cruel had become.
But there isn't a crueler deity than science itself.
So she ran away. They thought her too dangerous.
How far would she go with her research?
When she couldn't steal living bodies from the battlefield she started to hunt the soldiers of the Dark side herself. Only once was she able to infiltrate the Malfoy Manor. She was so hungry at the time. And Bellatrix would be such a delicious meal.
Lestrange was known for her instability and insanity. Why would Sáva let an opportunity like that pass?
After that, she was hunted by both sides of the war.
So she hid and ran.
And then after her twenty-first birthday, the climax of the war came. And she had nowhere to hide but Hogwarts itself.
They cornered her in the Room of Requirement. Harry Potter and his friends were still far away. Far away from one of the last Hocruxes. The Detheaters didn't knowledge.
But she could hear the dark magic sing. Taunt her with the whispers of power and glory.
So in front of the eyes of Rodolphus Lestrange, she grabbed the piece of Voldemort's soul and with her hand crashing the Diadem she whispered this:
“Mlha přede mnou, mlha za mnou.”
