Valentain's day
It’s Valentine’s Day, the most romantic day of the year, and for the Lupin-Black men, it’s the day they both look forward to the most. Before their two rugrats were born, they would spend the whole day together either at home or at some getaway that was planned, but now that they have their tiny humans to look after, it’s become kinda hard.
Remus was sitting at his desk while his sixth-grade class was working on a quiz. The room was quiet, with an occasional cough or sniffle here and there, but other than that, it was silent. He took the opportunity to work on his lesson plans and had his round-rimmed glasses sitting at the tip of his nose, writing down everything before typing it into his documents.
Remus’ thoughts were interrupted when a knock came about at the door. All heads turned towards the door and Remus got out of his seat, walking across the room.
“Please continue to do your work.” He says to his class as he approaches the door.
When Remus opens it, he sees a delivery man standing holding a huge bouquet of deep red roses.
“Remus Lupin?” The man asks, looking at his clipboard.
“Yeah. That’s me.”
“Well then, these are for you.” He gives the flowers to Remus and flashes a small smile at him. “Have a good day.”
“Thank you.” Remus goes back into his classroom and has about forty pairs of eyes on him. “Yes?” He questions, feeling his cheeks grow warm. The girls in his class were giggling while the boys just watched their teacher, weaning away from their quizzes.
“Who are those from Mr. L?” A student named, Rosalie, asks. She was a sweet girl and surely didn’t mean to put Remus on the spot but he knows they were all dying to know who the flowers are from.
He carries the bouquet to his desk and sits down, searching for a card. When he finds the small white card, he pulls it off the small clip and opens it.
To my love,
Each rose sent to you is something I love about you. You’re the light in my life and the joy in my heart.
Happy Valentine’s Day.
Love, Sirius
Remus’ cheeks twinged a light shade of pink as his class ‘Oohs’ over the note. He smiles at his students and playfully rolls his eyes at them. “Alright, get back to your quiz. You have ten minutes left to finish.”
The classroom grows silent again while the students focus on their work and Remus can’t stop smelling the roses his husband sent him. He impatiently waits for the bell to ring, which will send his students to lunch, giving him the chance to call Sirius.
Once the clock strikes 12, the bell rings and his students rush out of their seats, dropping their quizzes onto his desk before making their way out.
He thanks the last student that drops off her quiz and she smiles at him, joining her friends to go to lunch. Remus waits until the hall is clear and closes the door, practically skipping to his desk.
He pulls out his phone and happily presses Remus' contact, bringing it to his ear, and letting it ring.
“Hello.” Sirius answers, sounding joyful.
“Thank you for the flowers, babe,” Remus says, and can practically hear Sirius’ smile spread across his face.
“I’m glad you like them. Thanks for the flowers and chocolates. My secretary got a kick out of them, she’s been teasing me about it all day.”
“Well, I just want everyone to know how much I love you.” Sirius’ heart flutters at Remus’ sweet words.
“I love you too, babe. Am I getting the kids today?”
“Yeah. I have to stay after to get my lesson plans into the system before 4:30.”
“Alright. Well, I guess I’ll see you at home then.”
“Okay.” Remus sighs. “I’ll see you later.”
“Bye babe. I love you.”
“Bye. I love you too.” Remus’ smile fades as their call disconnects and he goes back to his work.
Around 4:15, Sirius pulled up to the school and found a parking spot close to the doors. He locked his car as he walked inside, making his way to the office to sign out his kids.
Sirius waits in the lobby, gazing at the art hanging on the walls from various students along with the many awards the school has won and a bulletin board full of upcoming events. As he continued to read the papers scattered on the board, he heard a tiny voice that captured his attention.
“Mommy!”
Sirius turns around and sees his kiddos running toward him with open arms.
“Hi, guys!” He crouches down, gathering them in a hug. “Ready to go?” Both kids nod and hold onto their mommy’s hand as they walk out of the school.
“Did you guys have a good day at school?” He asks, helping them into their seats in the back of his SUV.
“Yeah! Mommy, I got lots of valentines!” His son, Dilan, states proudly.
“You did? That’s cool. What about you John?” He asks his son.
“I got some too. Did you get any valentines mommy?” He asks.
“Yeah. your dad sent me flowers and chocolates while I was at work today and I sent him flowers too.”
“I got candy too!”
“Me too!”
Both kids beamed and Sirius smiled at them, before closing the door and hopping in front.
They tell him all about their Valentine’s Day at school and all the candy and treats they got from their classmates and teachers during the entire car ride home.
When they got home, Dilan and John busied themselves in the living room while Sirius started to work on dinner. Remus came home with his flowers and the kids greeted their father with hugs and kisses then he brought himself into the kitchen to see his husband.
Remus gently sets the flowers down on the table and goes over to Sirius, wrapping his arms around his body.
Sirius hums in pleasure and turns around to face his husband, planting a heated kiss on Remus’ soft lips. “Hi, baby.”
“Hi.” Remus smiles, keeping his arms around Sirius. “Thank you for the flowers. My class thought it was very romantic.”
“Oh yeah? Well, that’s not the only romantic thing happening today.” Sirius teases and Remus gives off a confused look. Little did Remus know, Sirius had another surprise for his husband but it was after they put their kids to bed.
The adults finish making dinner and eat with their families.
Afterward, the kids brought the goody bags they got at school to the table and climbed back into their chairs.
“What’s going on?” Remus asks, watching his kids dump all their treats and goodies onto the table.
“Presents dada!” Dilan sweetly replies, while searching for something. He finds the small homemade cards and hands one to Sirius and one to Remus “For you.” He adds.
“Oh wow. Thank you.” Sirius happily opens his card as does Remus and they read the little messages inside. “Happy Valentine’s Day mommy. Thank you for always making me laugh and cuddling with me whenever I’m feeling down. I love you. Love Dilan.” He reads and smiles up at his son. “Thank you, baby.” He hugs and kisses his son as Remus reads it out loud.
“Mine says, happy Valentine's day daddy. Thank you for loving me and making the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch. I love you. Love Dilan.” They all laugh at the cute little message and Remus thanks his son with a hug and kiss as well.
John painted cards and gave them to his parents as well. Both Remus and Sirius thanked their babies for their little gifts, then Sirius went into their front closet, pulling out the gift bag that had little things for the kids.
He returns to the table, meeting their grinning faces, and sets the bag down in front of Remus.
“What’s that?” John asks, pointing to the medium-sized gift bag.
“You didn’t think daddy and I didn’t get you guys anything did you?”
The siblings share a look and Remus pulls out the small wrapped gifts. Both kids got the same thing, a small box of chocolates, another kind of candy, a small toy, and a card from their parents. Something simple but cute.
They unwrapped their gifts and thanked their parents by jumping into their arms and giving them both big hugs.
---
Later that night, Remus bathed the kids and then read them a story before putting them to bed. While he was doing that, Sirius got their bathroom set up then went to get Remus and kiss his kid's goodnight.
Remus didn’t know what was going on but took Sirius’ hand anyway as he was brought into their bedroom, then to their ensuite bathroom.
Upon entering the bathroom, Remus lets out a gasp, admiring the sight in front of him. Their tub had been filled with rose petals, candles were lit, there was a bottle of wine with two glasses beside it and a basket of chocolate-covered strawberries. So cliche, but so perfect for him.
He turns to face his husband and kisses him, squealing in excitement, ready to have this time with Sirius’.
They waste no time taking their clothes off each other than getting into the tub.
Sirius pours them both a glass of wine and hands one to Remus as they sit across in the tub.
They drink their wine while eating some very special chocolate-covered strawberries, and talk about their lives together.
“Remember our first date, babe?” Sirius asks, eyeing his husband.
“How could I forget?” Remus sips his wine, then sets it down on the side of the tub. “We shared a pizza while laying on a blanket in the middle of an empty field, watching the stars.”
“Yup and you were surprised because of how romantic it was.”
“Well yeah. The school’s bad boy was taking me out on a date and I had no idea what to expect. But I enjoyed that night, which led to many others after that, such as our first time in Chicago. You were so sweet and loving and gentle with me, you made me feel like I was on top of the world. It was so special and so perfect.”
“I do have my ways around romance. You should know after all these years.” Sirius purrs and Remus smirks, nibbling on a strawberry. “And our first night being married surely was an unforgettable night.”
“Not.” Remus agrees. “Nine months later we had Dilan and I fell even more in love with you because I got to watch you become a mommy.”
“Oh, babe.”
“What? When you had our babies, you were a completely different person. You became this person that would never let anything or anyone hurt our children. You’re the most loving person on the planet and that’s the best thing I could ever ask for in a partner.” Remus moves over to Sirius and lies against his chest, sipping his wine again. “Happy Valentine’s Day, babe.”
“Happy Valentine’s Day, Remus.” They share a kiss and enjoy the rest of their bath before getting out.
When they get out, they go to their bedroom and get dressed before laying down together and putting on a movie for them to watch together.
As the two starts the kiss they hear a crash of thunder, followed by feet running against the hardwood. Their bedroom door swings open and their little ones run into their room, climbing onto their bed.
“Uh, yeah. Come right in.” Sirius says, looking over at his husband who shrugs and lifts the covers for the kiddos to get under. “Don't worry, mommy and I will protect you.” He adds, laying back on his side with his son to his chest.
Remus and Sirius let their kids cuddle in between them as the storm rumbles outside and the family of four falls asleep.

-Three Years Later-
The boys have been very quiet, a little too quiet. Remus was in the kitchen making his family lunch so Sirius decided to go check on the boys to make sure they were still in the house at least.
He walked upstairs and checked their room first. It was empty but he could hear their tiny giggles coming from his and Remus’ room.
Hoping they weren’t making a mess, Sirius cautiously walked to his bedroom and pushed the door open to find the room immaculate, like how they left it that morning.
He continues to hear them giggle again, but this time it came from the bathroom. The light was on and Sirius could see their silhouettes prancing around, as well as the moving in the mirror. The door was cracked just a bit so he got closer and pushed it open a little bit.
Sirius couldn't believe what he was seeing. He gasps and opens the door all the way. Both boys stopped laughing and turned to face their mother.
They were covered in brown hair dye from head to toe, all over the sinks, all over the floor, the towels, and the hamper.
"Oh my god." Sirius' jaw had dropped to the floor when he saw the mess the boys’ made. "Did you boys get into daddy’s hair dye?" He asks, setting his hands on his hips. "Holy crap, look at you two. Ooooh, daddy’s gonna be so mad." They both look at each other and start to laugh. "Oh, you two think it's funny?" Sirius asks, trying his hardest not to laugh as well.
He had to admit, they did look adorable how he found them. But, Sirius didn’t want to dye to stain even though he was certain it most likely wouldn’t come out, so he goes to get a garbage bag from their cleaning closet and rushed back into the bedroom. He quickly changed into his swim shorts since he was going to have to get in the shower with them to wash.
"Okay, mommy’s gonna give you both showers one at a time. I'm going to turn it on and Dilan you're going in first since you look like you have the most." He got him undressed and put his clothes into the garbage bag.
He brings him in with me and starts the water. "Dilan, just keep your eyes closed okay?"
"Okay, mommy." He says. His sweet little voice sounded so excited.
"Pads?" Remus walks in and sees the mess their sons left for them. "What the hell happened?"
"They got into your hair dye." Remus covers his mouth with his hands and Sirius can see he was trying to hide his smile. "Do me a favor and get them both a clean change of clothes while I finish cleaning Dilan?"
"Sure thing." Remus leaves the bathroom and comes back. "Their clothes are on the bed."
"Okay!" Sirius rinses the soap out of Dilan’s hair and off his body. "Alright, baby you're done. Go see mommy." Sirius had a towel waiting for him as he stepped out and ran across the wet tile floor to him. "John, come on babe." He got out of his clothes and put them in the garbage bag before getting into the shower with Remus. "Close your eyes." He nods and squeezes them shut.
It doesn't take him long to wash the dye off his body as well. He rinses all the beige-colored soap off his and turns off the shower. He opens the door and wraps him in a towel as well. He carries him into our room and sees Sirius was done helping Dilan change into his clothes.
Remus sits John on the bed and helps him into her dry, clean clothes as well before going to grab the brush and brush through his hair.
The boys were now both dry and clean, giggling at each other.
"Alright boys, lunch is ready." They run out of the room leaving Remus and Sirius alone.
"What are we gonna do about the mess?"
"I don't know. But mommy’s hungry." Sirius says.
Remus smirks and they share a kiss before leaving the room to go downstairs to the kitchen.
The boys were reaching over the counter for their food but their arms were too short. "Here babies." Remus hands them their plates and they carry them to the table. The men get their food and bring it to the table as well.
The four of them enjoy a nice peaceful lunch together and then settle the boys down for their nap.
As much as they hate it, it was still good for them to relax and let their energy go down some.
Remus and Sirius got the mop and floor cleaner and made their way into the bathroom.
After an hour and a half of making their bathroom look white and brand new, they finally finish and collapse on their king-sized bed.
Sirius was ready for a nap himself.
Remus was on his book so Sirius just got comfortable and folded his hands together over his chest, closing his eyes. He sighs and was almost asleep when he hears a small voice in his ear whisper, "Mommy." He opens one eye and sees John standing next to the bed.
"What?" He whispers back. He smiles and points to the space between him and Remus. Sirius rolls his eyes and picks him up. "Mommy and daddy are trying to sleep so be quiet okay?"
"Okay." He gets comfortable in between them and he wraps his arm around him, closing his eyes again.
Five minutes later, he feels a little finger poking at his back.
"Mommy." Sirius turned his head on the pillow and now Dilan was up, standing next to him. He doesn’t say anything and just smiles so he picks him up, placing him behind John and in front of Remus.
"Go to sleep boys," Sirius says and lays his head back down on the pillow, only to be met by John's gray eyes staring at him. His bright gray eyes were smiling and he pressed his lips together trying not to smile back because then he’ll think he was playing along and will stay up.
Right now it was their time to relax so he didn't smile and told him to stay quiet and go to sleep.
Sirius starts to hum a familiar tune to the boys and soon enough they're both asleep. He keeps his eyes closed and eventually falls asleep.
-Next Day-
"Shh, we have to be very quiet boys. We want to surprise daddy." Sirius whispers, carrying the tray of food up the stairs with the boys ahead of him. They wait in front of the bedroom door and Sirius tells them to open it, so they do and they tiptoe to Sirius’ side of the bed.
"Ready, one, two, three...Happy Birthday, Daddy!" The boys shout jumping on the bed. Remus wakes up and was surprised to see them right in his face.
"What's all this?" He asks, rubbing his face.
"Well since it's your birthday the boys and I made you breakfast in bed and have some gifts to give you."
"Aww, thanks." He smiles and sits up. His shirtless and scared body always turned Sirius on, especially when they were in bed but Sirius controlled himself and set the tray down.
Remus wraps his arms around the boys who are on either side of him and are still smiling.
"Dig in babe," Sirius tells him.
He then goes downstairs and brings up the rest of their food so that they can eat with Remus then watch him open his gifts.
Sirius took the boys shopping over the weekend and they each got to pick out a few things they wanted to get Remus.
"Open mine first daddy!" Dilan shoved the bag in his face and he took it. He took out the tissue paper and pulled out his gifts.
"Wow, these are great. Thank you pumpkin." He kisses his cheek and sets the bag aside.
"Me next daddy!" John shouts and gives Remus the bag.
After opening the boy's gifts, he finished his breakfast then they all got ready to spend the day with Sirius.
The boys were so excited to spend the day with their daddy and told Remus everything they wanted to do for him so he wasn't gonna hold back and let it all happen.
---
The boys and Sirius dragged Remus around the city all day doing fun things together.
Now it was 10:00 pm, the boys were asleep in their beds and Remus was in the shower while Sirius was holding his birthday present in his hand. He wrapped it in tissue paper and put it in a gift bag.
He hears the shower stop and not long after Remus steps out of the steamy room and goes to put on some boxers before getting on the bed with his husband.
"Mmm, thanks for making my birthday so special, baby." He says pulling Sirius into him.
"You're welcome Moony. You deserved every second of it." Sirius kissed him and pulled the bag out from behind his back.
"What are you hiding back there?" He asks, smiling.
"Oh nothing, just another gift." Sirius holds it in front of his eyes and he grabs it.
Remus takes it out and unwraps the tissue paper around it. His jaw drops and his eyes grow wide. "Are you serious?"
"Yep, happy birthday babe." Sirius smiles and watches as his eyes glisten with tears.
"You're pregnant?"
"Mhm." He happily hummed and wiped away his tears.
"Aww baby, wow this is the best birthday ever." Remus beams and wraps Sirius in his arms.
"Happy birthday baby."
