Note
So I found the inspo for this fic on tumblr, I’ll link it at the beginning. Anyway, VERY slow burn here :)If you’ve read any of my other fics, you can probably guess that I love these two very much. Of the two, Remus is my favorite, and I enjoy torturing him. Anyway, I felt like they deserved some fluff and cute stuff and I’m very excited to see where this fic goes!

Chapter 6

The next day, Sirius stalked off to Starbucks, saying he needed a coffee.

James did nothing but smile the entire time that Sirius was getting ready to go.

Sirius immediately looks at the counter, only to see a woman with beautiful mocha (pun not intended) skin, dark hair, and hazel eyes, who looks back at him, squeals, and runs toward the back, completely disregarding the person she’s serving.

Typical.

“Sorry.” He says to the woman that the server just ran away from.

“You’re cool.” The woman says, “That’s my flatmate. I see enough of her.”

“Yes, I can get quite tired of my roommates too.” Sirius jokes.

“Quick question,” The woman begins, “Are you Sirius Black?”

“Yep!” Sirius says coolly.

“Neat.” She observes, then turns back to the counter. “Mary! Get the fuck back out here!”

“No!” A voice comes from the back room.

“I will come back there! Just because I’ve taken a sick day doesn’t mean I don’t work here!”

“You’re very scary, Marlene.” Says another voice from behind the door.

“Why thank you!” Marlene replies, “You come out here too, you bastard. I was ordering my coffee!”

“Yes, fine.” says the voice.

Sirius observes with a small smile. Friends teasing each other was something he would never get bored of. Then Remus walks out.

“Alright, Marlene, what can I get you?” He asks, jokingly.

Sirius just about melts.

“You can get me Mary, who was just taking my order.” Marlene tells him sternly.

“Right, okay.” Remus smiles, and Sirius smiles too, for a very different reason.

“Mary! Get the fuck out here! Marlene isn’t leaving!” Remus shouts, turning around.

“No! Did you see? Sirius Black is here!” comes Mary’s voice.

Remus turns back towards Marlene, his smile gone.

“Come back to bug me again, have you?” He deadpans.

“What did I miss?” Marlene questions.

“I’ll tell you later.” Remus says. “Mary, if you don’t get out here right now, I will text Lily.”

“No!” Mary yells again, darting back out. “Not the girlfriend threat!”

“Works every time.” Remus mutters. “Goodbye, Sirius! Hope I never see you again!”

Remus turns, and walks back into the room behind the door.

Sirius contemplates life.

“Is anybody going to tell me what the fuck just happened?” Marlene asks, staring at Sirius.

When it becomes apparent that Sirius won’t be answering any questions, she raises up her arms in defeat, turning and walking outside.

Sirius walks towards the counter. Might as well order if he’s already here.

“Hi!” Mary squeaks.

“Hi.” Sirius says. “I’ll have a…”

“Are you really Sirius Black?” Mary interrupts.

“I am.” Sirius confirms.

“Wow.” Mary mutters. “Sorry… I’ve been really into your music recently.”

“No, it’s fine.” Sirius tells her. “If you’re here tomorrow, I might be able to convince James and Peter to come too.”

“Really?!” She squeaks again.

“If you’d like. They need to get out of that house. James won’t stop making sex jokes about my brother, and frankly it’s pissing me off.”

“I’d love that! I mean- not someone making sex jokes about my brother, but I’d love to meet James and Peter.” Mary says.

“Alright, I’ll let them know.”

“Okay! What can I get you?”

“Caramel frappuccino with a Lemon Loaf, please.” Sirius tells her.

“9.33 Euros, please.” She says in response, before turning and making the coffee.

Sirius grabs his credit card and holds it out to her.

“Thank you!” she takes it, tapping a few buttons on the screen in front of her.

“Same time tomorrow?” Sirius winks, before taking his coffee and bread.

Mary blushes.
