Chapter 16
Seren yawned as he opened his eyes sleepily, awaiting the arrival of one of the servants or his mother to help him get ready for the day. He always had to present a certain image, especially as they currently had guests in the palace. He felt conflicted about the humans that had arrived at midnight. On one hand, he didn’t want to leave his family for most of the year besides holidays and summers for the next seven years. On the other hand, this was his chance to make friends and to escape the expectation of always being ‘perfect’. He adored his mother, but a lot of the time he felt as if she would always keep him within a gilded cage. In the end, he decided to be happy about the opportunity Hogwarts would offer him. A place that his mother wouldn't dictate his everyday appearance or calculate his every move. His mother entered the room and she sat down on his bed, smoothing back his hair lovingly.
“Good morning, my beloved starlight. Did you sleep well?” Stella asked.
“Yes, mother.” Seren replied with a soft smile.
“Good. Now, let’s get you ready for a shopping trip in the living world.” Stella said as she stood up and motioned Seren to follow her, "We can't have you looking like a plebeian now, can we?"
Seren got out of bed without a word and followed his mother into his private bathroom. He stopped in front of the mirror and stared at his reflection, waiting for his mother to choose how he appeared today. Stella hummed softly as she styled his hair and placed his crown atop his head delicately. She chose a beautiful outfit with a cape showing stars twinkling within it’s inner lining, a gift his father had given him for his last birthday. As soon as he was ready, they went to the kitchen to have breakfast with everyone else. The Hogwarts staff were led into the room by the servants and the humans ate their food hesitantly.
Stolas stood up regally once they’d all finished eating, “Shall we go now? Where should I open the portal in the human realm, Dumbledore?”
“London, England.” Replied Dumbledore.
Stolas opened a portal in an isolated back alley and everyone stepped through. The humans all watched in awe as all the demons were enveloped within a bright light before revealing that they had transformed into humans.
Dumbledore shook off the shock and frowned at the cherub, “Why haven’t you changed into a human form, my boy?”
Collin smiled awkwardly, “I a-actually don’t have a h-human form. Most humans are unable to see us unless w-we wish for them to be able to.”
Dumbledore nodded, “I see. Well, shall we be on our way then?”
Everyone nodded and began to follow Dumbledore as he led them to a run-down looking building called ‘the leaky cauldron’. Stella curled her lip in disgust, but followed the rest of them as they entered the building. He led them to the back of the shop and stopped before a brick wall, taking out a carved thin piece of wood from his robes. He used the piece of wood, his wand, to tap the bricks in a certain sequence before the wall parted to reveal a shopping district full of many robed humans.
“Welcome to Diagon Alley.” Dumbledore told them with a smile.
“Where should we go first?” Stolas questioned.
“You will need to go to Gringotts, the wizarding world’s bank, to exchange your money for our currency. Flitwick will help you during your time here, the rest of us must be on our way back to Hogwarts. I hope that's alright with you?” Dumbledore replied.
Stolas, Stella, and Flitwick all nodded their agreement. They all bid farewell to the other humans before following Flitwick up the steps of the bank. Once inside, everyone except Flitwick blinked at the sight of the goblins running the bank. They quickly shrugged off their surprise before they went to one of the goblins.
“We would like to open an account for our son.” Stella told the goblin.
The goblin took out a piece of parchment and a quill before grinning, revealing razor sharp teeth, “His name?”
“Seren Goetia.” She replied.
The goblin paused before looking up at the woman, eyes narrowing, “Isee. Before we do this, I believe that we need to speak to you privately.”
Stella’s eyes widened before she masked her emotions, “Yes, I believe we should. Stolas, watch the children for a moment.”
She left with the goblin, ignoring the indignant sound her husband made at being ordered around yet again by her. She followed the goblin into a private office and watched the goblin through narrowed eyes.
“Do you take us for fools, Mrs. Goetia?” The goblin asked her, his teeth bared angrily.
“PrincessGoetia. Now, I’m assuming you know who my son was before his adoption?” She asked nonchalantly.
“Of course, your highness. Gringotts updated his information automatically when he was blood-adopted so he still has access to all his vaults.” The goblin replied, becoming less aggressive as he became sure that whatever happened from this point forward would only serve to benefit both parties involved.
“Hmm. I need you to keep this information hidden from everyone except myself, not even my son is allowed to know.”
“We have no problem doing so, for a price.” The goblin said, smirking at the knowledge that the woman standing before him could pay Gringotts for their silence.
Stella rolled her eyes, “Fine. As long as you can keep your mouths shut. Now, what accounts does my son have?”
“Mr. P— I mean, PrinceSeren has a few vaults and properties in his name. He was the last heir to his family line and also was named heir to the Black vaults from his godfather. The only thing he’d have access to if he’d remained… human, was his trust vault.”
“Remove most of the money, artifacts, and precious metals and gems into a new vault under the Goetia name. Make sure the security for the Goetia vault is top of the line. Sell all the properties that wouldn’t be missed and put the money gained from them into his vault. Leave the trust vault untouched, I don’t want anyone that might have access to it noticing anything different. Leave anything that obviously belongs to the Potter or Black name in the vaults or sell them discretely for as much of a profit as possible. Seren must never learn of his origins and I am willing to pay for you to use your magic to prevent anyone that does find out the truth to be unable to utter a word of it to anyone else."
“Of course, your highness. Gringotts has a ritual that works similarly to the human wizards' Fidelius charm and this ritual will conceal this secret from everyone. Unfortunately, some witches and wizards have a rare talent that would allow for them to find out about your secret. However, this ritual will prevent them from telling anyone about what they learned. Is this satisfactory, your highness?"
“Yes, as long as Seren or the rest of my family never find out the truth then that's fine. Now, let's discuss the payment for your silence.”
"Itwouldbemypleasure.”
