Running away.
Caitlyn didn’t wait any second and rode as fast as her horse would go with Vi and the other soldier behind her. When she reached the castle, her father was waiting for her. She jumped off her horse and ran to hugged him tightly. “I’m sorry sweetheart.” He cried “What happened?” “It was a Noxian spy” said a voice behind her. “And apparently they’re marching this way” said Grayson. “Marching this way?” “Yes young Kiramman, you two must hide.” “No” said Tobias. “I’m staying. As the king, my duty is to protect the kingdom.” “But father.” “Go now!” Vi retrieved her sword “you are the knight to princess Caitlyn. I trust that you understand your duty” Vi put her sword back on her belt understanding what to do and grabbed Caitlyn by her wrist and started running. “But father! Stop! Let go!” Caitlyn tried to release herself from Vi, but Vi’s grip was too strong. “My daughter… protect her.” Whispered the king.
Once they reached Caitlyn’s room Vi closed the door and barricaded it. Caitlyn started putting her armor “we have to go help them.” “We can’t, we must go.” “No! We have to help!” Caitlyn was struggling putting her chest plate due to her hands shaking. Vi grabbed Caitlyn’s hands to calm her down. “There’s nothing we can do. We must leave.” Vi grabbed Caitlyn’s chest plate and helped her put it on. There was a loud noise coming from the hall that alerted both of them. “They’re inside” Vi grabbed Caitlyn’s wrist again and lead her to the secret passageway that they had used before.
Once they made it outside,it started pouring as they headed towards the forest in direction of Zaun. Caitlyn looked back and could see smoke coming from the city. This made her trip and fall slipping from Vi’s grip. Vi stopped and headed back to help Caitlyn up but she saw her. Caitlyn was crying. Vi put her sword back on her belt and kneeled in front of Caitlyn. “How? How did it come to this? It was the Noxians. They’re destroying Piltover. And everyone- my father, Grayson, Jayce, they’re all fighting back there. We could’ve stayed and help them!” Caitlyn sobbed. She looked at Vi’s with her eyes full of tears “We left them… all to die” she whispered. She stared crying louder and Vi immediately hugged her. “Don’t cry. We would have died if we stayed there. Please don’t cry.” The moment was interrupted by a Noxian soldier who was following them. He charged at them but Vi was faster striking him first. “We have to go!” Vi helped Caitlyn get up and started running again.
Once they reached the forest, there was a group of Noxian soldiers gathered. They saw Caitlyn and Vi and they grabbed their spears and swords. “Stay behind me” order Vi retrieving her sword. The enemy charged at Vi. She was able to kill a few before her sword was snapped in two. She dropped the broken blade and kept fighting with her bare fists. Punch after punch she kept taking the soldiers down but getting severely injured in the process. She was stabbed in her abdomen, some of her knuckles broke, the back of her armor had cuts on it, and her face was full of blood.
Caitlyn put Vi’s arm on her shoulder and helped her walk. Caitlyn grabbed one of the Noxian’s swords and placed on her belt since she had forgotten hers after running away. They had to make it to Zaun before more soldiers showed up. Unfortunately they encountered three more soldiers. “Vi save yourself. Go! I’ll be fine! Don’t worry about me. Run!” Vi didn’t listen and took Caitlyn’s sword. She tried to stand up properly but stumbled. Still, she charged towards the soldiers but was too weak. They easily knocked her down leaving Caitlyn alone.
Seeing Vi on the ground, unconscious, covered in blood, she grabbed some mud from the ground and threw straight at the Noxian’s face making them have to close their eyes. This gave Caitlyn the opportunity to run and grab the sword on Vi’s hands. She swung at the soldiers as Vi had taught her, killing all of them.
Once she made sure they were dead, she ran towards Vi. She didn’t move. Caitlyn removed her helmet only to find a deep cut right on her eyebrow that was bleeding, her nose seemed to be broken and the breathing was slowing down. She sat down with Vi on her arms and started crying putting her forehead against Vi’s “Vi please don’t leave me, I promised your sister to protect you, please don’t leave me” she whispered
“Caitlyn!” She heard her name being called “Caitlyn! Where are you!” She wasn’t sure who it was and why they knew her name. “Caitlyn!” Caitlyn got up and started dragging Vi with all her strength but the armor made Vi very heavy. She gave up, she closed her eyes and just held Vi in her arms hugging her waiting for her end with her beloved appointed knight.
“Caitlyn! There you are!” She opened her eyes to see Jayce “Jayce!” She cried. Him and his hammer were covered in blood. Thankfully he seemed unharmed only his leg was wrapped. “Cait, are you alright” he dropped his hammer and kneeled to hug Caitlyn “I’m alright Jayce.” “Oh little bird, I couldn’t find you. I was so scared.” He hugged Caitlyn tightly and started crying. “I’m alright Jayce, but… she’s not.”
Jayce looked at Vi wiping his tears. “Yeah she was not ok.” “We have to take her to Zaun.” Jayce removed his tie to tie it around Vi’s head. “Help me remove her armor.” He removed his jacket as Caitlyn removed Vi’s armor revealing a deep wound around her abdomen. Jayce ripped his jacket apart to tie it around Vi’s abdomen as hard as he could to stop the bleeding. The pressure was so painful that it woke Vi up. “Vi!” Caitlyn held Vi’s face “I’m alright cupcake” she said smiling “alright ya can do this later, we gotta go.” Caitlyn helped Vi get up. Jayce grabbed his hammer and threw it on his shoulder then he grabbed one of Vi’s arms and threw oh his other shoulder while Caitlyn did the same and slowly the walked towards Zaun.
