Family through Loki
Harry reads that in mythology Loki is the blood brother of Odin. And when Loki had kids with the jötunn Angrboda, Odin was appalled by them. Hel was born with the disease now known as Harlequin syndrome, which means that one shove of her face and body is whole and Healthy looking while the other half is blue and decayed looking. Later when she was an adult, Odin Borson cursed her to live and remain in Helheim; and forbidding her to meet her father.
Loki's second child with Angrboda was a wolf pup that was called Fenrir Lokison who could shape shift. Upon reaching adulthood, Odin again cursed him to remain in his wolf form and wear unbreakable chains. But that wasn't enough. Tyr the Asgardian God of war, single combat, and heroic glory placed his left hand in Fen's mouth because Fen sensed deception when they were planning on using a special rope on him. But in the end, Tyr lost his left hand and in retaliation planted his sword into Fenrir's tongue causing him to bleed and drool.
Next Harry reads about Jormungandr Lokison, The World Serpent. When Jordy was born he was born in a humane shape because he was very small. After reaching adulthood, Odin laid out another curse. Jordy's favorite form to shape shift into was a snake. And Odin threw Jordy into the ocean that encircles Midgard and to remain in his snake form forever more. As Jordi grew in size, he bit his own tail and it's from Jormungandr that we get the symbol of the Ouroboros.
Harry pauses and thinks to himself 'One day I am going to figure out how to break Odin's curses on my family.'
With that final thought Harry begins to read about Sleipnir Lokison.
Many years ago, a jötunn came to Odin in disguise; one of the Aesir had destroyed part of the wall around Asgard. Odin, being an ass, agreed to let the man fix his wall, but the man had to complete it in 3 months time and no man could help him. What they didn't know was that the jötunn had a stallion named Svadilfari. And Savdifari wasn't a regular horse, he was an anthropomorphic horse which means that he can either be a normal horse (or as normal as an Asgardian horse can get) or he can shift until he can walk, and talk in a humanoid form. Loki wanted Odin to Win the net against Freyja so Loki Shadow shifted into a mare to lure the stallion away. Soon after that night and Odin won his bet, Loki found out he was pregnant.
Loki ended up giving birth to an eight legged stallion that he named Sleipnir. But Odin cursed the stallion to remain in his horse form and to be his War Horse.
Harry closes the book. He cannot believe that Odin would be so cruel. But he remembers his years with the Dursleys and he vows to teach Odin a lesson.
Harry does the tempus spell and realizes that he's late for bed. Harry places the book on Norse mythology on the side table. He then walks up the stairs and to the third floor. He opens the doors to his room and with a snap of his fingers, he changes his clothes to his PJs. He removes his glasses and falls onto the bed and falls into a deep sleep.
