Lost and found
Dolores Umbridge was furiously pacing on the seventh floor of Hogwarts.
Any student passing by would have thought she finally lost her mind after the stunt the Weasley twins had pulled. But instead of insanity, Umbridge had turned to anger. She needs some way to get back at Potter and his friends for lying and making her look like a joke.
After her third time pacing she noticed a small door had appeared. “Since when was this door here? I swear if this is another prank from those twin devils someone will pay!” Umbridge wailed, making her seem even crazier. After grabbing her wand Umbridge cast every detective spell she knew on the plain door.
Finally, about ten minutes later she entered the room with caution. Inside was a stack of books ranging in color and size. The title of the top book said “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” but nothing else was visible. However, there was a note on the book. The note read,
“Dear Dolores Umbridge,
Under this note are the stories of Harry Potter and his years of Hogwarts. These are the true tellings. Nevertheless, you can check if you feel the urge to. The only way to read these books is to have Harry Potter himself open the book. At that time the people needed for the story will arrive and Hogwarts will be put into a time bubble allowing the most time to read the tales of Harry Potter. If Harry Potter chooses to read this book an additional letter will be inside of the first book describing the first book and additional information. However, if Harry Potter decides not to read these books nobody will remember them. These books will change the future so everyone must make an unbreakable vow before the fifth book. After the fifth book, it will show what is to come.

After reading the letter three times a toad-like grin stretched across Umbridge’s face.

That evening at dinner all anybody could talk about was the Weasley twin's exit. Over at the Gryffindor table, the Golden trio could be seen quietly in conversation.
“ I think that's the most brilliant thing Fred and George have ever done don’t you?” Ron question
“While the spell work was most impressive it could get you or Ginny in trouble seeing as she cannot punish the twins. Knowing Umbridge that’s probably where she is right now.” Hermione stated that it was the most obvious thing in the world.
At her words, the trio turned to the head of the house's dinner table where every seat was filled besides Umbridge’s seat. But not for long. Near the end of dinner, Umbridge burst into the room causing many first-years to fall from the table in shock.
“I’ve got it!” Umbridge wailed “ I have all of your secrets in my hand Potter!”.
“ Dolores, what are you rambling about now!” McGonagall asked hotly.
Once Umbridge reached the head table she turned where the headmaster would stand and give the opening speech.
“ Students of Hogwarts, while wandering the halls today I came across these books that will give all of us an interesting perspective of a certain student!” Umbridge declared then stopped for a dramatic pause.
At this pause students across the hall turned to each other and whispered about who this mystery student was. However, at the table of the lions, the trio quickly started a quiet conversation.
“ It’s gotta be me, there’s no other reason she would be this happy. This is going to expose everything” Harry stated, worry creeping into his tone.
“ Don’t be ridiculous Harry, there can’t be anything too bad in these books. Plus none of us would have written most of the stuff we’ve done down anywhere someone could get it.” Hermione stated
“ Uh Hermione, have you forgotten Hagrid's pets in the first year and what happened at that quidditch match in that same year? Also, those are just two things from the first year.” Ron stated his tone the same as Harry’s.
At his words, Hermione's eyes grew huge and she paled rapidly. She was not the only one who came to this conclusion though. As Harry suddenly became very pale.
“ They are going to find out about Sirius!” Harry all but shouted and it was a wonder nobody heard him
At that very moment, Umbridge began speaking again.
“Potter will come up here!” She yelled into the hall confidence oozing out of her voice.
As Harry walked up to the head table, students looked on, in wonder and kept whispering. However, Harry did not give him the satisfaction of seeing his distraught face, especially the Slytherin‘s. It reminded him of last year when his name had been put into the goblet of fire. He continued walking at a steady pace until he reached the head table. Where Umbrige still had that toad-like grin on her face.
“ So potter, these books state I need your permission to read them” Umbridge stated her grin going away a little bit at these words Harry’s heart soared until the next sentence came out of her mouth.
“However, if you do not allow us to read these books I will have to put you in detention for the rest of the year for withholding information from the headmistress.” She spoke her voice, sounding like she won the lottery.
At these words, the other professors of Hogwarts had something to say.
“ Dolores, are you threatening a student and offering punishment if they do not show you the personal details about their life.” McGonagall quickly rushed to the defense of her lion.
Even little professor Flitwick spoke in his squeaky voice. “While I, without a doubt, would love some more information about incidents occurring here in the past it is not an excuse to dig into the student's personal lives“
Professor Sprout then followed in giving her unwillingness, “Yes, Dolores I don’t believe this is exactly fair to anyone in the story, and especially Mr. Potter”
However, Umbridge acted as if she had not heard any of them and looked at Harry with a smirk.
“ So what do you say, Mr. Potter? Will you accept or will I be seeing you tonight for detention?”
For a few minutes, Harry was deep in thought that if he allowed the school to read his personal life, they would find out about everything, the good the bad the ugly. They will find out about the Dursleys. However, they would also find out about Sirius and his innocence. That was what made him do it if Sirius was free, then he could go live with him and not have to worry about the Dursleys ever again.
“I’ll do it Professor under one condition, nobody gets in trouble for anything in the past or future. We cannot change what we did in the past and cannot control what we do in the future.” Harry said, reminding himself of something Dumbledore would say.
While Umbridge knew Potter was hiding something she could see this would be the only way to read the books and expose Potter for his lying.
“Very well Mister Potter, we will start this book first thing tomorrow at eight am and all classes are canceled for the foreseeable future,” Umbridge announced. While she knew they would be in a time bubble she had no plans of telling anyone about this until it was too late to stop it.
The students cheered at the news of classes being canceled while the teachers groaned and thought of ways to adjust lessons.
“Everyone is dismissed, back to your dorms, and don’t forget eight am sharp!” Umbridge announced again and snatched the books and left the hall at a quick pace.
Harry returned to his table, the shock still there. By the time he reached Ron and Hermione both were on their feet waiting on him. As soon as Harry reached them they walked out of the great hall briskly. None of them said a word until they reached the common room and sat in their usual chairs.
At which point Hermione all but yelled at Harry,” Harry what were you thinking! Umbridge could have rigged those books for all we know. Plus you know the saying "if it's too good to be true it’s not true” that’s exactly this situation!”
Ron looked confused at the muggle saying but joined the conversation quite similarly “ She’s a right mate who knows what’s in those books.”
Harry could feel the frustration rising in him and burst out “ This is my chance to prove Sirius’s innocence! Is this going to suck, yes I’m going to be hating every minute of it. Will it be worth it? Yes!”. Harry said, voice rising at some parts. However, everyone else in the common room was so happy about the canceled classes nobody seemed to care about the trio.
Harry felt guilty about snapping and went into more detail. “You know Umbridge loves Fudge there is no way he won’t come and if these books and so true it will prove Sirius is innocent. Also, it will prove Voldemort”
Harry ignored the gasp from Ron and continued
“Is back so the ministry can get their heads out of the sand. “
“ I guess that is a good point mate, we probably should head to bed if Umbridge wants us at the great hall at eight,” Ron said, eyeing the number of people in the common room which had declined rapidly.
Hermione noticed as well and stood wishing both a good night and climbed the staircase up to her dorm. Both boys went to their staircase and found their dorm mates asleep in their beds. After wishing each other a good night both went to bed.
The last thought Harry had was how terrible this was going to be and how many secrets would come to light.

In the morning Harry awoke and looked around to notice the rest of his dorm mates already awake which was surprising considering Ron usually wakes up last. Ron looked over and said, “ Come on mate it's almost 7:30 and we have got to get down there before eight.”
Once Harry had rushed to get ready, Ron and him made their way to the great hall. By the time they arrived, Hermione was already sitting down and eating breakfast. Harry sat and poured himself pumpkin juice and started eating. However, he had little time to do so due to the fact Umbridge enter the room minutes later.
Everyone turned and looked at her. Umbridge stood at the same place she did the night before and looked over the hall.
“Hem hem will Mister Potter please come up here so we can start this reading.” Umbridge announced.
Harry made his way to the front of the hall getting déjà vu from the night before. Once there Harry took the book into his hand and opened it, out fell a letter.
“Go ahead and read it out loud Mister Potter” Umbridge said in her sweetly sick voice.
“ Dear Harry Potter,
if you are reading this letter that means you have chosen to read about your past and future. However, the catch is the people in the hall need to get a very good point of view on the story so I have chosen to use your point of view for the books. This will mean you will be connected to the books, so whenever something happens to you in the book you will feel it presently. I’m sorry it had to be this way, but it was the only way. Many lives can be saved due to this decision. During the reading Hogwarts will be in a time bubble meaning people will not be able to enter or exit the castle. By the time you’re done reading, it will be like no time has passed. Also, since there are some people needed for these books, who are not here presently they will shortly be teleported in to read alongside of you.”.
At this moment there was a bright flash of light and a crowd of people appeared. The people Harry could see included Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Mr. Weasley, Mrs. Molly, Tonks, Sirius, Remus, Dumbledore, Amelia Bones, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Mad eye Moody, and Minster Fudge. The only good thing was that Sirius was in his dog form. However chaos erupted when Fudge and Umbridge saw Dumbledore.
“ You!” Umbridge howled.
However Dumbledore was too quick for both the minster and Umbridge and froze both of them. McGonagall quickly explained the situation to the newcomers while the rest of the hall sat in shock that Dumbledore was back. While the Dumbledore supporters cheered and the ones who didn’t like him did not look happy. After the chaos had calmed and Fudge as well as Umbridge were unfrozen and agreed not to do anything at with the fact they would get the last laugh, Umbridge grabbed the book. The newcomers had spilt, the Weasleys besides Percy sat with the only two Weasley remaining at Hogwarts.The Ministry workers besides Arthur sat near Fudge. Tonks followed Charlie Weasley and sat near him while Padfoot and Remus sat with Ron and Hermione leaving a spot for Harry. Moody chose to sat with the rest of the teachers so nobody could sneak up from behind him.
Once all of that happened the hall looked at Harry who finished the letter.
“Good luck with the reading and may many lives be saved.

After reading Harry went and took a seat between Ron and Hermione. Both looked at him with caution, obviously remembering he would feel the pain of his past adventures. He quickly gave them a look back that said they would talk later. Hermione gave him a look that said told you so.
After a few moments of silence to allow what had just happened to sink in Umbridge stood.
“ Hem hem who would like to read first.”
When nobody raised their hand Flitwick squeaked, “ I have the perfect spell for this Dolores, The voice used in the book will be said aloud I often use it myself in grading papers that way I can listen to books as well. Luckily, it works on nonfiction the best because the people are real and it can imitate the voices.”
After Umbridge passed the book, Flitwick put a spell on it and the chapter title read “ The Boy who Lived”.
