morning

Remus slowly awoke, the sun streaming in through the open curtains in the dorm. He rolled over groggily, but instead of being met with his pillow, he landed on a certain mop of black hair.

Carefully, he pushed Sirius’ uncharacteristically messed up hair out of his face. (and out of his mouth.) The pale porcelain skin of the other's face shimmered, reminding Remus of vampire's, in the morning sun.

Sirius delicately opened his eyes, blinking at the sudden brightness.

“Hey.” Remus whispered.

“Morning.” Sirius smiled back sleepily. “Were you watching me?”

“Don't make it sound creepy, Sirius.” Remus laughed.

“I don't blame you, if I was as lucky as you to have such a gorgeous boyfriend, I would stare too.” Sirius preened, always vain, even if it was less than a minute after waking up. No amount of vanity turn Remus off of him though.

“Shut up. I do have a gorgeous boyfriend, but he's also an idiot.”

“What? How dare you-” Sirius started but was cut off by Remus.

“Do you not remember? Your prank yesterday got us all a month of detention.” Remus shook his head fondly at the other.

“Oh shit, yeah. And the map!” Sirius was fully awake now. “McGonagall confiscated it!” He darted up and tried to get out of the bed but Remus grabbed onto his hand, keeping him in place.

“Stay. Please. We can get it back later, easy. Wormtail could sneak in while he's in animagus form and let us into her office. Then we can just pick it up and escape. No big deal. Come back to bed.”

“Alright.” Sirius’ nerves seemed to be calmed now, and he was back to his sleepy form.

That didn't mean Remus didn't want to tease him about it though.

“I seem to remember you saying ‘it's a completely foolproof prank, nothing couls go wrong!’” He chuckled playfully.

“Shut up. It was a good plan.”

“It was, to be fair. Charming all the Slytherins’ hair red is a good idea. But it would have helped if you didn't fall out from under the cloak and land right in front of McGonagall.”

“Merlin, don't remind me!” Sirius covered his face melodramatically.

Remus pulled Sirius into a soft kiss, putting one hand on his sharp jaw. Sirius happily reciprocated and smiled into the kiss.

Sirius mumbled, “My hair is probably a mess.”

“No, it's perfect.” It was definitely a mess. Sirius would spend at least an hour washing it and combing it into place so he could keep his trademark ‘I don't put any effort in, I'm this handsome naturally’ sort of look, yet Remus didn't care.

“We should head down to breakfast. Slytherin and Hufflepuff are playing later this morning. Marlene wants us to be there for Dorcas.” Remus whispered.

“Well let's go then!” Sirius proclaimed, all his usual authority suddenly in full force again.

Remus smiled contentedly, watching Sirius busily get ready. It would only take a few minutes for Remus himself to pull on some jeans and a jumper. That's what Remus thought made them so special. They contrasted each other perfectly. The Moon and The Star.
