Chapter 1
“But please James, we both know Remus is the spy and Sirius can't be your key keeper and live with the spy!” Peter says annoyed. Lily is upstairs and taking care of a crying Harry.
“First of all, it's you that think Remus is the spy, I don't think any of you guys would be the spy, so please stop with that. And second of all Sirius and Remus aren't even living together. Sirius is hiding as Padfoot somewhere in another country.
“He is what?!”
“Yeah to make sure we were safe.” James says with a smile.
“Well, well, uhm that's good. That's really good!” Peter stunner.
“Look, I know that you just want to help, but Sirius is already our key keeper and I trust him with my life. Alright? And you already do so much for the order.
“Yeah, yeah alright.
“What's going on here? Lily says and walks down the stairs. She has soft pants and a gray hoodie on her. Her red hair is in a high bun and her green eyes are looking at the both boys.
“Hey beautiful” James says and reaches for a kiss.
“We were just about to make some tea, do you want some?” James is casting a fast look at Peter to show him that the conversation is over.
“Yes please.” She says with a sigh as she is pulling out a chair to sit down.
“Harry is really unable to go to sleep, he always wants to see “agic”. Lily says with a smile.
“How are you Pete? You look a little pale.”
“Oh no its nothing. Ehm i think i gotta go, Order things you know”
“Yeah of course, take care” Lily says as she stands up to hug Peter.
“See you next week?” James asks and also reaches for a hug.
“Absolutely” Peer says with a smile, as he puts on his jacket.
But they didn't see Peter next week, they didn't see Peter ever again. He got killed, murdered only a few hours after visiting The Potters. He didn't even get murdered. “Destroid!” James says with tears in his eyes as he puts the letter down. It was from Peter's mother, all wet from tears, both from Peter's mother and James.
“THEY COMPLETELY DESTROID HIM, A FINGER, JUST A FUCKING FINGER LEFT” James cries. Remus is sitting beside him and also has tears in his eyes. Just a few minutes before they were eating dinner together, James, Lily, Remus and Harry, but then an owl started pickering on the window. Remus stood up to take the letter. As soon as he opened it and saw the wet dots of tears on the paper and Peter's mom's small handwriting he knew it was bad. He sat down, or fell on the floor, he's back against the wall.
“What is it Remus?” Lily's concerned voice hears somewhere far away from him.
“He's dead.” Remus' voice is hollow.
“Who is dead? REMUS WHO IS DEAD?” James is screaming as he stands up.
“Peter.” James says, his voice is thick and he feels tears behind his eyes. James' face pale as he goes to Remus to grab the letter. He takes a deep breath and starts reading: Peter got killed.The death eaters exploded a muggle street. A finger was the only thing left of him. Funeral is on Saturday, 15:00.
Harry is watching in confusion seeing his mother with her hands on her mouth and his dad and Moony crying on the floor. He reaches his hands to his mother. Lily takes him up and goes with him to the living room.
“Why are dada and moony crying?” Harry asks as his mother is putting him down on the sofa.
“You know dads friend Peter?”
“Womtai!” Harry answers happily.
“Yes wormtail” Lily is answering with a laugh as her eyes are filled with tears.
“Harry.” She takes his son's hands in hers and looks him in the eyes.
“Wormtail is dead”
“Dead? Wha is dead?” Harry asks, confused.
“Dead is like going on a vacation, but you are not coming back.” This was the thing her mother said to Lily when her dad passed away.
“Why can't he come back?”
“That is what death is. You can't come back” Lily says and sobs.
“But is it a good vacation? Harry asks her mom.
“Yeah, it's the best vacation you can have” Lily answers.
“Do you want a hug mommy?” That's what his mother always did to him when he cried.
“Yes, yes I would very much like to have a hug”
