Danger Around Every Corner, Yeah Right

After lunch, Ryujin convinced his new friends to explore further into

Forbidden Forest with him. Hermione was hesitant to go into the woods, but Ryu assured her that whatever they ran into, he would protect her. Eventually, Hermione agreed. It was a lot easier to convince Blaise as he wanted to see what dangers lurking out there.

Ryujin smirked, and he led his two friends into the forest. Immediately, Hermione grabbed his arm and moved closer to him. Ryujin was tempted to roll his eyes, but he remembered that Hermione was only a weak human. He patted her hand, “Don't worry, Hermione. Nothing will happen to you or Blaise; I will not allow it.”

Hermione instantly calmed down. Even though she had only met Ryujin the day before, Hermione knew nothing would happen to her while she was with him. The trio continued into the Forbidden Forest. As they went deeper into the forest, the trees seemed to close around them, and the darker it got. But it didn't bother Ryu; he knew there was nothing in the forest he couldn't handle.

Blaise wouldn't admit it, but he was also frightened. Though he tried to hide it, Blaise moved closer to the other two. Ryujin didn't mind; he knew they'd react that way as weak humans. As they trudged into the forest, they came across a herd of unicorns; for once, Ryujin was impressed; they were beautiful creatures. The dominant male looked at the trio and pawed at the ground, lowering his horn to seem more threatening. Hermione and Blaise backed up, but Ryujin wasn't fazed at all by the stallion's display. Though Ryujin knew he could make the stallion submit to his will, he had no intentions of doing it. Ryujin knew that unicorn stallions were not comfortable around men, and he wanted to allow Hermione to get closer to the unicorn.

Ryu gave Hermione a slight nudge toward the unicorn, “It's alright, Hermione, the stallion is threatened by Blaise and me. Unicorns prefer females,” Ryujin informed his friend.

Hermione took a few tentative steps toward the giant unicorn, and the stallion lowered his head so Hermione could pet him. Hermione smiled as she petted such a majestic creature. At that moment, the females returned to their herd leader and noticed the boys. The unicorns were slightly intimidated by Ryujin, but one look at their leader and they knew the boys were safe to be around.

A curious foal walked toward the boys; Blaise and Ryujin looked at each other and smiled. The little foal showed no fear as he got closer to them. The baby horse nickered at them and trotted happily towards them. Blaise was amazed at how the little unicorn showed no nervousness around the two Slytherins.

Ryujin gave Blaise a slight nudge to get the boy to meet the unicorn halfway. When Blaise met the unicorn halfway, he kneeled not to look threatening and put his hand out. Blaise wanted to be at eye level with the unicorn. He raised his hand to let the unicorn foal smell it. The foal took a tentative step toward Blaise. She took in his scent, nickered, and moved closer to the boy so that he could scratch her behind the ears.

Blaise was amazed; he never thought that he would ever get to pet a unicorn. But here he was, in the Forbidden Forest, doing precisely that. Blaise realized that being friends with Ryujin and Hermione would be a never-ending adventure, and he liked that idea. While Ryujin watched, he smiled at his friends, who were having a grand time. Ryujin suddenly stiffened. He felt a presence coming from further in the Forbidden Forest. Ryujin's green eyes narrowed as he sensed the creatures coming closer.

Suddenly, the unicorn herd whinnied in panic, and the stallion led his herd away, leaving Hermione and Blaise perplexed. Hermione turned to ask Ryu why the herd fled, but she noticed the stern look on Ryu's face as he stared into the forest. Hermione walked toward her friend, “Ryu, what was-” Hermione didn't get to finish her sentence when she heard the clicking noise of something significant coming closer to them. Hermione looked at Blaise, who seemed as confused as she did. They followed Ryujin's line of sight, and Hermione screamed when she saw giant spiders approaching them.

Blaise gasped when he saw the spiders heading in their direction, “Acromantulas,” Blaise whispered, “We need to get out of here,” He said and grabbed Hermione's arm.

In turn, Hermione grabbed Ryujin's arm, “Come on, Ryu, we need to get out of here,” Hermione frantically called to the boy.

But the Saiyan didn't budge; he smirked at the oncoming horde, a smirk that would have made Vegeta proud. Ryujin turned to the two humans, “Go. I'll hold them off,” Ryujin commanded.

Hermione and Blaise looked at each other but decided to do as Ryujin had told them. The duo took off running as fast as they could. Hermione felt guilty leaving Ryu behind, but she knew better than Blaise that Ryujin could handle himself.

Once the humans were out of sight, Ryujin began to power up. But upon closer inspection, he noticed that this horde of spiders could be handled without him turning Super Saiyan. Ryu powered down and waited for the Acromantulas to get closer. He powered up slightly and charged the spiders, moving so fast that it looked like he disappeared.

The horde of spiders was no match for the Saiyan Prince. He decimated their ranks quickly, tearing them apart with his bare hands or ki-blasting them. When the Acromantula realized they were no match for Ryu, they quickly fled into the Forbidden Forest. Ryujin smirked and chased after them. The giant spiders ran as soon as possible, some fleeing into the trees; Ryujin smirked as he hunted his prey.

Ryujin followed the fleeing spiders until he arrived at their den. The young Saiyan looked around cautiously, ensuring he was not ambushed. It would be embarrassing for Ryu to be caught unaware by an overgrown arachnid. The Saiyan Prince cautiously walked through the Dark Forest, his senses fully alert. It didn't take him long to find the spider's nest. Ryujin entered the spider's nest cautiously; it would be embarrassing if he were taken by surprise.

As Ryu stepped further into the nest, his green eyes narrowed when he felt a stronger ki energy than the other spiders. At that moment, a giant spider appeared. It was much bigger than the spiders he had faced earlier, and Ryujin smirked. He popped his knuckles and hoped that this arachnid could give him a challenge. But Ryujin paused when he got a good look at the spider.

The spider was a giant, but Ryujin could tell that it was much older than the others, and by the film covering its many eyes, the young Saiyan could tell it was blind. Ryujin rolled his eyes, so much for a possible challenge.

“Hagrid? Is that you?” Aragog questioned.

Ryujin scoffed, of course, that Oaf would be friends with a "dangerous" species.

The Arcomantula cautiously stepped out of its den but abruptly stopped, “You are the one that attacked my brood.”

Ryujin crossed his arms, “Yes, what of it?” Ryu said with a smirk.

“I should destroy you now,” Aragog growled out. He was not expecting the child to laugh.

“Oh, please. If your young ones were no match, I doubt an old, blind spider like you would be a challenge.”

With that, Ryujin used his speed and grabbed the Acromantula by the pincers and slowly started pulling them out. Aragog struggled, but it was useless, “Please, please spare me,” Aragog struggled to say.

Ryu thought, “Alright, on one condition: you serve me now, and you will no longer hunt the unicorns.”

“But my children and I must feed,” Aragog argued.

“I am sure there are other beings in this forest to feed upon. My friend enjoys the unicorns, and if I find out your brood kills one, I shall be very annoyed.”

The threat was heard in Ryujin's voice. Aragog sighed, “I agree to your terms.”

Ryu smirked, “You agree to the terms, what?”

“My Prince,” Aragog answered.

“Good, it was a pleasure doing business with you,” Ryujin answered. Then, he used the instant transmission his Uncle Goku taught him to teleport back to the forest's edge. Ryujin walked toward the castle to clean up. He turned and looked at the Forbidden Forest and scoffed, “Dangerous creatures, yeah, right.”
