Summary
Harry's been doing some reviewing of his experiences in the Wizarding World. With the chaos of an Heir of Slytherin running loose and Ron and Hermione constantly fighting, Harry chooses to keep his ability to talk to snakes secret. He also accidentally adopts an attack snake.ON HIATUS

- Harry’s questioning???? No one knows he is a parselmouth still and never will if Harry has anything to say about it
- Discovering the snake/basilisk
- Learning about the Wizarding World through said basilisk, research into legal matters in England and worldbuilding needed
- Horcrux discovery/confrontation?
- Dobby confrontation/serious research into house elves, serious research/worldbuilding
- Tom stops attacking Harry and works with him against his other soul pieces to restore his sanity and protect Harry after he realizes that Harry doesn’t want to kill him by a civil conversation with a basilisk at Harry’s command wrapping around him
- Part of the conversation revolves around returning balance to the world and magic, Tom’s original goals that he forgot while creating Horcruxes and going insane (apart from his other goals, such as creating a program to take children in from Muggle homes as soon as possible (obliviating the parents if necessary, possible creating places and jobs for squibs to work that could also use Muggle assistance, such as modernizing technology and seeing what squibs can do with potions, runes, etc) and providing a safe place for all children to go over the breaks, no explanation needed (Hogwarts takes the breaks to cleanse from the wild magic ot the children and to strengthen the wards again, not that Dumbledore does this))
- Tom later discovers Harry is his Horcrux
- Harry and Tom go to pull trial transcripts for Black to see what’s going on only to find none and raise a fuss/Tom sends Lucius to do his dirty work
- Black could be an asset or not to the cause of magic restoration
- Harry transforms into a snake (?) and stays at Hogwarts with the basilisk after learning enough magic to glamor some Transfigured boxes to look like his trunk so he can leave his trunks with the basilisk in the Chamber and hitches a ride back to Hogwarts on the returning train (train returns for storage at the castle over the summer and for winter breaks)
- Harry makes friends with the thestrals
- Harry goes to Gringotts with the basilisk’s guidance and finds out some interesting things about Dumbledore’s activities, his parents’ wills, his vaults (no mysterious windfall vacation for the Weasleys, though it had been contracted), his inheritance, that he should have been taught basics before entering the Wizarding World by the introductory teacher, that Dumbledore was obligated as his magical guardian to introduce him to the Wizarding World and prepare him for his duties as a pureblood heir to the Houses Potter and Black, gets tested and healed by the goblins as they document every injury in his past and the actions they take to heal him, and files and wins emancipation with Gringotts and the Ministry, a fact that is sworn completely to secrecy by the Unspeakable who handles his paperwork (as all emancipation filings are, though there are not many)
- Harry cultivates a friendship with that Unspeakable and can sometimes be found in that department underfoot but not really after he made his way there the first time and pointed out a miscalculation that could have taken lives
- Harry withdraws his seats from use by Dumbledore, leaving the light faction only barely winning the majority vote, and throwing Dumbldore into a tizzy about the loss and the “mysterious lord that must have stolen the seats from poor Harry”
- Hermione’s Time-Turner goes mysteriously missing (snake-napped) and is placed under several parsel wards to prevent it being found by anyone Harry does not want to find it before anyone notices
- Harry and Tom sue Dumbledore and the ministry for child endangerment when they force him to participate in the Tournament (Voldemort comes back via the ritual????? Harry goes to the goblins with the complaint of line theft, and the goblins summon all of the other soul pieces, merge them, forcefully summon Voldemort, kill his body, merge that last bit of his soul with the last parts, and give the item to Harry for Tom, who came with him. Harry ends up Lord of Slytherin, Gaunt, and any other lines by conquest)
- Black finally gets a trial, and the Black fortune nearly doubles from the recompense deemed owed and is saved from Azkaban finally, while the rat is caught and confesses Dumbledore’s part in the secret keeping, matching Black’s story and causing public opinion of him to drop sharply, as well as his position as Chief Wizengamot to be forfeit
- Harry’s own trial, governed by the queen, who knows everything because she rules all of Britain, goes well, and the Potter fortunes also nearly double
- Harry forces Black to go to a mind healer, and the mind healer later contacts/forces Lupin and Snape to undergo mind healing as well (Dumbledore had placed several spells on the two that left lasting damage to the psyche) (Lupin to stay aside and hate the wolf,etc) (Snape to hate Harry and all students under his care not in Slytherin, emotional regression, no self-worth, total loyalty and blind obedience,etc)
- The goblins can finally get in touch with Snape and give him his Lordship
- Dumbledore, left only with his headmaster position and under heavy scrutiny, is forced to let Umbridge into the school. Unfortunately, the woman goes missing two days into the term after Harry’s first detention with her. The centaurs greatly appreciate Harry’s and the basilisk’s present, and they even have plausible deniability, as the woman was trespassing on their land (though not willingly unless Harry manipulates her to be suspicious of them so she goes to spy)
- As a last-ditch ploy, Dumbledore tells Harry of the prophecy and that Harry’s special power was love (at the trial for the disappearance and suspected murder of Umbridge, his age protecting him from Veritaserum and no one trusting the man didn’t tamper with his own memories, especially with the large memory gap caused by too many laced lemon drops and alcohol at the time of the disappearence, not that anyone knows it) only for Harry to scoff, recite the below statement, and do nothing as he’s dragged to Azkaban (Tom, glamored next to him, may or may not let the glamor fall only for Dumbledore, causing the man to start going crazy about the Evil Dark Lord(™) in the room, causing everyone to agree that he’s finally lost it)
- And how was Harry supposed to defeat someone with love when he didn’t have any examples? All he could remember of his parents were their deaths, and no one since then had genuinely cared for him except for maybe the Weasley twins and Neville.
- Harry gets all Os on his OWLS and then promptly takes his NEWTS, ready to be done with the crap that is the people at Hogwarts, especially his “friends” (@Ron and the fact that Hermione immediately abandoned him for Ron, assuming that Harry would just forgiver her and be fine with it, despite the fact that they weren’t all that close at all) and the teachers (@Snape who still hates him and treats him as poorly as possible to make up for it) (also @Malfoy who never grew up and got over the sting of rejected friendship. Like get over yourself.).
- The basilisk accompanies Harry anywhere and everywhere, seemingly having adopted him as its own personal (pet) wizard
