Note
hi, Arcturus here! I apologize if this is bad I got hit with writers block and wasn’t able to write for a while but I hope you enjoy!!also I’m posting this the 14th my timezone

James had been walking, strolling around the castle. Peering around corners, his soldier trailing behind him. They’d done this so many times, sneaking around. Sirius wasn’t technically allowed to be friends with James, but neither of them cared.

James wanted nothing more but to hide and bring Sirius with him. It was stressful being king, he couldn’t disappoint anyone. His parents trusted him when they left to live life in the kingdom.

But with Sirius he didn’t feel like a king, he felt like a little boy. The way they wrestled recklessly in the gardens at night, the way they would stay up giggling late into the night and getting scolded by Mary, the head chef, for sneaking into the kitchens to get food. But most of all the way Sirius made him feel like a little boy, overtaken by emotion. His heart felt giddy and butterflies fluttered around his stomach.

He loved Sirius.

And Sirius didn’t love him. Not the same way.

Sirius was in love with Remus, James’s scribe. Honestly, James just liked having him around. He was sweet and funny and had quick remarks, which made meetings way less boring.. of course, Sirius was in love with them. Or so James thought.

She was not in love with Remus, she was hopelessly and irreversibly in love with James. He was too dense to realize.

She hung out to every word Remus said about James, wanting to know everything about him. Wanted to know every detail about him, and Remus knew. Remus and James were so close, Remus knew a part of James that nobody else did. He saw James’s worst days and made sure he was okay even at his best.

Today Sirius decided he was going to finally tell James how he felt, yes he’d told James many times but the dumbass assumed it was platonic.

James was giggling, he was also going to tell Sirius how he felt today regardless of the consequences. He would go for it.

They entered the garden like always and sat down next to each other, both their hearts were beating way faster than normally yet were still in sync. Forever in sync.

After a couple of minutes of sitting there in worry, Sirius finally blurted it out.

“James… I love you. Like actually love. You make me happy and I get if you don’t like me like that and I’ll leave but I nee-“ he got cut off by an abrupt hand on his shoulder. James had a fond smile on his face just staring into Sirius’s eyes.

“Sirius.. I feel the same. I love you too. I thought you loved Remus so I was too scared to tell you” He laughed a bit as he spoke, he was tearing up flooded with relief. He really thought he’d lose Sirius over this.

Sirius pulled James gently into a kiss, just enjoying it. James was really like the sun and warmed Sirius from the inside. He felt like she was on fire. James was burning over the heat of Sirius but he was okay to burn if his last moments were spent with Sirius.

They pulled away from each other and rested their foreheads gently on each others, just breathing. Together.

James loved Sirius and Sirius loved him.
