Creature Inheritance(s)
*Creature Inheritance(s)*
- Ok so last time my ideas for a creature inheritances went as followed:
- Vampire or Werewolf inheritances through blood adoption or familial ties
- Metamorphmagus (this would most currently be a genetics thing as Nymphadora or Tonks has the ability. So he would have had to pick this up from Sirius's side of the family)
- Veela (to be honest the Veela aspect was a fun thing to consider just because of the idea that the Malfoy family, i.e. Draco, would also be Veela's so it would perhaps be easier to have them tied together and explain their connections as true mates?)

Vampire and Werewolf Inheritance
-Truth be told this form of inheritance is the easiest and most used form of inheritance I've seen in relation to Harry in most fics that I've read and it makes sense. Firstly if were gonna pick between the two let's analyze both of the options and go from there 😌
-Vampire: so vampires in the og Potter fandom have been deduced to some form of 'living dead' creatures like zombies, except instead of brains to survive off, its blood. Physical descriptions usually describe them as 'pale' and 'gaunt' and more stereotypical forms of vampires (aversion to garlic, blood drinking, although they were also able to eat pasties).
*The idea of vampires themselves in the OG is kinda boring and bland, however, what if these forms of vampires are just lower tier ones? What if, like a hierarchy, vampires are lined up through their power through the magic available to them based on their core harnessed by Lady Magic?
*Think of it like this: All of the species themselves are vampires, that's their base line (they all have to drink blood in order to survive, and depending on their power level, they would all be quite annoyed with garlic)
*In fics like Lord Thanatos, the idea of vampires living in a form of power hierarchy is introduced, however the form of elite that acts as a ruling class towards other vampires is mainly influenced on how much magic that certain vampire has. So harry for example would be an extremely powerful vampire on principal just based on the fact that he's a horcrux and shares his power with the big baddie Lord Voldie himself.
*However, in more traditional forms of media, vampire hierarchy are based on age. So the newest members of the species themselves are refereed to as 'fledglings', and these would people who have lived up to 20 years or less as a vampire, right up to an 'elder' who have lived up to 500-1000 years or later.
*So I guess the biggest thing to think about when writing something about Harry and a Vampire Inheritance would be... what will you go for? As a wizard it would be easier going with magic helping elevate Harry's status but then that begs the question, would all vampires have access to magic, or just those that are wizards. And if only wizards are able to have some form of magic status tied to their core, what about those that are born as vampires? Is that even possible? Would Harry himself have to be bitten in order to attain his new status, or would it be something passed down paternally (because let's face it, it's just a little easier)? If that's the case then are their potters out there in the world still living that could connect with Harry later on but hidden away because of their status? Would they be able to come back into Harry's life, pledge loyalty, and introduce him into this form of his heritage?
*Also, thinking about it, what is the exact difference between a vampire born with capabilities of vampires (like Harry) and one changed. Would someone born with a specific rank have more power than one older than them? Would that go against old lore of vampires or are we just using magic in this sense and and more just like a status, like the elder in a village? Not quite as powerful as the chief, but still listened to and respected?
*Would vampires have mates chosen by each other or lady magic? Like, in twilight, the vamps there are able to choose whom of which they can mate with, it's not a predestinated thing. They do have people known as 'angers' but that's mainly due to whose blood calls to each person. So an old lady could be someone's singer but not their mate.
*So I suppose this is how vampires themselves would have to work in the HP universe lore:
1. Since all things made by magic have their core, all vampires would have access to magic and based off of how much, that would determine their rank and the amount of 'immortality' provided to them
2. All vampires must drink blood, however, two forms of vampires can consume food. Those with strong cores of magic can consume food as forms of nourishment but in order to sustain their form/core they must also drink blood. Those that are BORN or INHERITING their vampire status (like harry) would have to drink blood in order to 'activate' their vampiric abilities.
3. Vampires, generally, would not have chosen 'mates' or spouses. I believe that there could be some form of pull to each vampire like in True Blood or Twilight (i.e. 'singers' concept). It would be more like a more primal form of attraction. Whomever sensed would be better in form of survival and 'attraction' would get together.
- In the off chance that vampires DID have mates, like harry, there is still a question that I suppose I've already answered myself but nonetheless. Would someone like harry, who more than likely inherited his vampiric powers, be able to extend characteristic to his mate? For example, the immortality portion pf it? And given that I'm the creator of this, I'm gonna say yes. But just because he (Draco because I'm dreary trash) would be able to live as long as Harry would that mean that normal things such as illness, a goods tabby stab, or poisoning be able to still kill him? Like, just because someone can live for a long time doesn't mean they also can't die by just slipping on a rock. For right now, probably not but I might have to come back to this.
---------------------------------
-Werewolves: so in the OG lore, werewolves were not born per se, more like created through being bitten by someone suffering with Lycanthropy. All of this, including Lupin himself, was a bad allegory for the AIDs epidemic at the time so I don't really like it all that much, but there are still some thing I'm gonna keep from the original:
*According to the original lore, it seems that werewolves are just some form of allegory for sick people (i.e. a poorly formed allegory for people suffering from HIV/AIDs), but that sucks and makes it seem that being a werewolf is some form of sickness that must be cured which is,,, sounds,,, very wrong
*So traditional werewolves have been chosen from Lady Magic herself and exhibit the traditional form of werewolves and have their own pack with the pack Alpha (leader) and the roles in each pack which each ABO reader understands 😈. They would also include traditional wolf dynamics (though that also is just based on 'dominant breeding' and whose passing off the most successful genes). However, the werewolves seen in the Wizarding World are gonna be the result of an overly ambitious wizard trying to find out a way to turn themselves in a werewolf but then, in their arrogance, created something that was more like a bastardized version of what a 'true' werewolf is supposed to look like
*Harry himself would probably also have this inherited but mainly through a blood adoption from Sirius AND Lupin. However, it's never implied that just because one parent is a werewolf means that you're gonna be a werewolf (see little Teddy Lupin in the original), for this specific fic, lets say that just like the above with him only inheriting his 'inheritance'/abilities after he turned 17.
*For all intents and purposes, since each werewolf pack would have their own leader or 'Alpha' there is no way to say that they would follow someone who isn't already their chosen leader, if they are to follow traditional wolf pack. However, with that being said, perhaps it's also based on strength and power itself, and if the waves can sense how powerful Harry is as one of them and just on his own, it'd probably be easier for them to follow him.

-Veelas: So really I just put this one here for shits and giggles. My original idea was to have Draco's family come from a long line of Veelas originally coming from France and him and Fleur being long distance cousins, and maybe they both come from the same line but Draco being the actual heir of the Malfoy family and Fleur being part of the line that was married in kind of (maternally). Honestly, looking at original canon, it just kinda seems like Veela's are traditional mermaid/sirens but on land and instead of using song they use their beauty.
*I was messing around with the idea of Harry being part Veela mainly so that the component of mates with him and Draco makes more sense but then it hit me that it didn't have to make sense, and I could play with however many ideas I wanted. Besides in the future when both him and Draco have children, it would make more sense for their kids to have a diverse power house than just have one form of creature abilities from their parents alike
*Seeing as how mpreg is a passion of mine, and since this is a fantasy world where dragons, magic, and wizards exists, men being able to get pregnant shouldn't be that far of a stretch. There are normal things such as potions, surrogacy, etc. that could help cis male wizards to conceive with each other, but in terms of Veela's I see them as sort of being intersex, where they have the ability to do both and being extremely fertile creatures because of it.
*Besides male Veela's having the ability to have children, I don't see Veelas being all that different from normal wizards. The only thing that does differentiate them is their almost devilish form that transpired when they get angry as that's when their facade falls and they sprout those wings of theirs. All in all, I imagine they're just a little low in the chain in terms of power but they shouldn't be out for the count.
