Chapter 16
If you didn't know Remus and Sirius you might assume that Sirius is the possessive, angry sometimes violent boyfriend. (Although this was mainly people still hung up on his last name and family). But once you got to know them it became clear this was not the case. People who whispered about Sirius, that he may be a death eater secretly working for You Know Who, would end up in the infirmary with a black eye, broken ankle or wrist but not revealing how they got it. Nobody really gave it much thought. Until one day, in fifth year, the Marauders turned the corner and saw Remus towering over a cowering slytherin seventh year on the floor who was clutching their wrist. They pulled Remus away and made him explain that the slytherin had been spreading rumours about Sirius being a spy for Voldermort. As the other Marauders stood in shock and James prepared to lecture Remus about not resorting to violence, at least not on his own, Sirius pulled Remus into a hug. And whispered thank you into his ear. Remus hugged him back because he knew how much those rumours hurt Sirius.
