Remus groaned, fighting the urge to smash his head against the nearest brick wall.
He loved James. The guy was like a brother to him.
And he knew James was smart.
But god, could James Potter be any more of an idiot when it came to talking to girls? Or, at the very least, a certain redhead. And to make matters worse, he seemed to have absolutely no idea what he was doing wrong.
Remus cringed as James was harshly rejected by Lily. Again.
(Now, Lily was like Remus’ sister, so he wanted her with someone who would treat her right. And he knew that James would absolutely treat her right, but he was an idiot.)
“I can see you’re in pain too. From watching that.” Sirius sighed, shaking his head. “To be honest, I’m disappointed in him.”
“You and me both, Siri.” Remus clicked his tongue. “We both know that if he tried a little harder he’d be able to get Lily.”
“Those two idiots have been dancing around each other since third year,” Sirius said. “It’s pathetic. At least we got our act together.” Sirius smirked, wagging his eyebrows at Remus.
Remus snorted, shoving Sirius’ shoulder, “Stop,”
Sirius laughed and caged him against the wall, “Aw, come on, Moony, you know you love me~”
“Ease off, Pads, we’re in public.” Remus laughed.
“You know me, I do love an audience.” Sirius said, ‘seductively’.
They stared at each other for a few moments and then they couldn’t keep it in. Remus and Sirius started laughing, leaning against each other. They’d only gotten together a few months ago. It had been heaven. So far, they acted the same as they always did. Their relationship had always been touchy-feely, even before it was an actual relationship.
Sirius pushed off the wall and laced his fingers with Remus’, “Let’s go get lunch. We can watch James make a fool of himself in front of Lils.”
“Sure, sounds like a date.”
“The best date. ‘Cause, it’s with you.”
There was a scoff behind them, “Saps,”
Remus rolled his eyes, “Buzz off, Pete.”
Sirius pouted, “I’ll be a sap for Remus any day, Petey. I thought we went over this already. Remus is the love of my life and I shall not hide it!” Sirius cackled, scooping Remus up bridal style.
Remus yelped, he was taller than Sirius so it was an awkward hold for a second before Sirius got a good grip.
“Come on, Siri, let me down,”
Remus couldn’t help but laugh as Sirius refused to let him down.
“No! I’m going to carry you the entire way! I’m a gentleman!” Sirius said. “Besides, when we get married, I’m gonna carry you out like this, so I need to start practicing. I’m not gonna be the guy that drops his husband on their wedding day.
Remus was glad he was so light for being so tall. He was also glad that Sirius was as strong as he was. He guessed being a Quidditch player paid off.
“What's going on here?” Remus turned to see James chuckling at their little scene.
“I’m practicing, Jamie,” Sirius grinned.
James looked amused as he walked over, ruffling Remus’ hair, “Practicing for what, mate?”
“Our wedding,” Remus said, “He says he has to practice carrying me like this because he’s ‘not gonna be the guy that drops his husband on their wedding day’.”
“Because I won’t be!” Sirius pouted, “I haven’t dropped you yet, have I?”
Remus grabbed onto his boyfriend tightly when Sirius spun him around, “Well if you haven’t before, I’m certainly worried now.”
