Mother/Son
Theo Nott stepped out of Draco Malfoy’s bed causing Draco to stir. He turned towards the other boy who quickly got dressed. It was the same as all the times before. He’d fuck Draco then he’d leave.
The first time it happened Draco had let l fill with ridiculous ideas of romance. That maybe he and Theo could be something more than just friends. He’d awoken alone in his bed and imagined a world were maybe…
Then walking alone from the library to the Slytherine common room he’d spotted Theo. He was leaning against a wall with a Hufflepuff girl, their faces connected in a passionate kiss. Draco had stopped to stare his heart racing and his breath caught in his throat.
He’d made it back to his bed before he’d buried his face in his pillow and cried. They had sex plenty of times since then. With Theo always leaving him after he was done. Alone and feeling used.
As Draco watched Theo get dressed he felt his eyes sting with tears.
“Theo”
“What, Draco?” Theo turned to him letting out a sigh as if in annoyance.
“I can’t do this anymore.” Their eyes met and Draco watched Theo’s jaw tighten. “I want more than this. I want someone to hold my hand and take on dates. Just tell me is there a chance..”
“Im not like you Draco. I like girls. This is… this is a mistake. I can’t be what you want. My father he’ll disown me. I’m not a queer.”
Draco bit his lip. He nodded before turning away in his bed. He didn’t want to let Theo see him cry.
“Can you go please?” Draco closed his eye shut. So tight it hurt.
He heard Theo stand there for a moment and if he’d turned around he would have seen the conflicted look on the other young man’s face. He would have seen Theo reach out a hand towards Draco before pulling it back. He walked out and Draco heard the door close.

Many Years Ago
Narcissa Black knew she was making a mistake the moment the fabric of her wedding dress touched her fair skin.
“Cissy, you look beautiful” her mother had said as they stared at the large mirror. The seamstress fussed around her as her sister Bella watched her with a knowing look in her eye.
“Indeed sister Lucius is a lucky man.” She flashed her a devious smile as Narcissa straighten her back and stared at her reflection. She forced a smile on her pale face as she remembered a raven haired man. Looking up at her with hope in his eyes. Him on one knee and a ring in his hand.
“Cold feet, sister” Bella said mockingly and Narcissa instantly turned to her with fury in her eyes. Bella had always been a skilled Legillimens and she immediately shielded her mind.
“Enough! Bella, don’t be ridiculous.” Their mothered turned to Bella chastising her. Unaware of the silent struggle taking place before her.
“On the contrary” said Narcissa with a cold tone to her voice. “I am more happy than ever. I love Lucius and I can’t wait to be Lady Malfoy. I only hoped you can experience the same joy on you’re wedding day dear sister.”
The smiled slipped from Bella’s face and Narcissa held her head high. She forced a smile on on her face. She was lucky. Far more than either of her sisters. She had met Lucius at Hogwarts and he’d always loved her. He came from a pure blood family and he was set to inherit the vast Malfoy fortune.
Bella had not been so lucky. They both knew she was only getting married to appease their parents. They had both seen the consequences of defying their family when their sister had run off and married that muggle born fool. Narcissa pushed away thoughts of Andromeda and stared at her reflection.
Anyone looking at her would have thought she was the happiest witch alive. Inside she felt like she was dying.

It was the middle of the night when a hooded figure Apparated in front of James Potter’s townhouse. Looking around to make sure no one had spotted her Narcissa felt her heart race. This could ruin her. She was set to be married in matter of hours but she didn’t care.
She’d dosed Bella’s late night tea with a sleeping potion to make sure her sister wouldn’t follow her. Her pale fingers knocked on the door and her hands shook uncontrollably.
“Narcissa?” His wide eyes stared at her as the tip of his wand lit up her pale face. He slipped on his round glasses and she stepped inside as she slipped off the hood of her robe. Her almost white blonde hair cascaded down her back and she stared at him with teary eyes.
“James, I had to see you. I had to-“ she lunged at him hugging him. Feeling his body go stiff as she pressed her face to his chest.
“Narcissa, what are you doing here?” His voice was cold and she looked at him with pleading.
“James, I can’t. I can’t marry Lucius. I love you and I want to be you. I want us to be together.” James looked at her with a pained expression. Confusion clear on his handsome face.
James may have been from a pure blood family like hers but he didn’t share her family’s values. He didn’t the Muggle horns as inferior but she didn’t care. She didn’t care about bloodlines or purity. She just wanted him.
“You asked me once, to marry you. Ask me again. Ask me again and I’ll do it. We can be together just like you wanted. We can have children and -“
“Narcissa, I’m engaged.” He grabbed her by her shoulders pushing her back and she stared back him betrayed. “I’m engaged to Lily Evans.”
“That… no. Why when you told me you loved me? Was I really that easy to forget?” She couldn’t hide the hurt in her voice and he looked at her with anger in his eyes.
“How can you be so cruel? How could you ask me that? You left me remember? You left me when all I did was love you. You left me because I wasn’t pureblooded enough for you. I offered you everything and it still wasn’t enough.” She flinched at his words and she felt tears fall from her eyes.
“I’m here James. I’m right here. Just owl Lily tell her -“
“No, Narcissa. I can’t, and not because I feel it’s my duty to marry here. But because I love her.” Narcissa looked away unable to meet his gaze. “She’s not a consolation prize. I care about her. Sure it’s not the same as with you. But I still love her.”
“You’re wedding is in a couple of hours. You should go.”
“James” she reached out to touch him one last time but he stepped back. Wiping away her tears she straighter her neck. She looked at him as if it was the last she would ever see him and tried to memorize his face. His glasses, his messy raven hair, freckles. “Thank you for you’re time James.”
She turned towards the door praying he would stop her. But he didn’t and she stepped into the cold black night. He watched her leave and it wasn’t until the door closed behind her that he finally allowed himself to cry.
