The Jewel

“Master, please forgive me.” Draco kneeled on his knees before the dark lord. He sat at the end of the Draco dinning room table staring down at Draco with his bright red eyes. Nagini hissed at his feet coiling her scaling body around Draco’s legs.

“Bella tells me you’re angry. But I don’t need her to tell me that. I see your mind Draco.” Draco closed his eyes trying to block his thoughts as Voldemort stared at him with intensity. “Foolish child. I cannot be lied to. Your thoughts can not be hidden from me.”

Voldemort pierced his mind like a dagger and Draco screamed. His body convulsing as memories of his childhood flashed through his brain. His father teaching him how to fly. His mother taking to get his wand. They’re Christmases together.

“Master, please. Give me the chance to makeup for my mistake. I’ll do anything to get my father back.”

“Is that so?” The pain stopped and he let out a gasp of air. Nagini coiled herself around his body and his heart raced with fear. Her cold dead eyes stared into his letting out her tongue hissing.

The dark lord spoke in hisses and Nagini released her gripped. Draco felt a chill run down his body as the dark lord stood from his seat extending his hand a jewel floated on thin air. It was shaped like a teardrop and he watched as it floated in the air.

“Sir, what is this?” Draco looked at the jewel which floated in front of him. It was shaped like a teardrop linked to a golden chain.

“I will give you the chance to succeed where your father has failed. Take this dark object and fulfill your destiny.” Draco grabbed the chained and stared at the necklace. It was an aquamarine so bright he had to turn away from it.

“Master, I promise. I will not fail you.” Draco clutched the chain in his hand so tight his knuckles turned white. “What are your orders?”
