Black Tea
Never once has James Potter been so flustered by a customer.
Never once has Regulus Black been so stunned by the man behind the counter he spilt his coffee.
As the coffee dripped from the spilt mug down the side of the counter Regulus had thought his day couldn’t of gotten any worse. It could. As Regulus had dumbly stared at the mess he had made the man behind the counter had already started to clean it up.
“Would you like a new one, free of charge of course?” His eyes shooting up to meet the man’s in front of him.
“If you don’t mind.” He gritted out as the embarrassment from him realizing he just stood there as the other man cleaned up his mess hit him hard. Thankfully the other man just smiled up at him, setting down the rag he has used to wipe up the mess turning back to the expresso machine. Honestly today within itself had already been a nightmare and it was only 8 am.
The man turned back to Regulus with his new coffee, setting it down on the counter. “Enjoy.” And that was the last of the conversation, “Thanks.” Regulus grumbled shuffling over to one of the nearest tables with his coffee and a donut he has bought from the shelf.
After about a half and hour of peace he heard the loud rumble of a motorcycle pull out front, he slumped knowing exactly who it was.
“Brother, there you are.” He clamped a hand down on Regulus’s shoulder as he slumped into the seat next to him. Regulus’s scowl was almost a permanent feature when his brother was around, “I called you an unawares of six times just this morning only to go to voicemail.” He voices flatly.
With a smile only Sirius can produce around his scowling brother he remarks, “Isn’t that barista cute?”.
”Which one?”
”The one wearing glasses.”
”They are both wearing glasses.”
”Exactly, I’m gonna go give one my number.”, he stands and saunters off with only the dramatics a Black can have. Regulus, shaking it off stands grabbing his now empty mug and following Sirius back up to the counter to deposit it.
”My number?” The barista, the one he didn’t basically spill coffee all over this morning questioned, “I don’t know If I’m aloud” He’s cut off as his coworker from earlier exits the back.
“Honestly Moony you see a cute guy and don’t jump to give him you number.” He chuckles. “I have to leave for a bit Lily’s had an emergency and someones gotta pick Harry up. Give me thirty.” He turns to where Sirius and Regulus were standing and before anyone can say a word ,” See you gentlemen around.” And he walks out of the store.
“Bye James.” Moony shouts, then he sighs “You heard the man.”. Picking up the sharpie and a napkin he writes down a few numbers before handing it to Sirius. “There’s gonna be a party tonight here, technically only close friends but I think we can make an exception for two fine men.” The man presumed Moony winks at Sirius.
“I’ve gotta busy schedule but I’ll always make time for you.” Sirius blows a kiss at the man before walking off. Regulus stares after Sirius before shooting the man named Moony a cold smile and following his brother out of the store.
