Fred and George Weasley

Hadrian, as a six year old surrounded with teachers and other children above eleven, he was utterly bored in the castle. Draco was always busy and no one else wanted to play with him. Which is why, at the Halloween feast, his parents were sat anxiously wanting to leave and find him because he hadn’t been waiting for the in their quarters like he was supposed to be but Albus Dumbledore wouldn’t let them, either of them, Lucius knew that he would be immediately telling the Governors when they had found their little boy because Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was not allowing two fathers to go and find their little six year old child who had gone missing in his school.

Unfortunately for Hadrian he couldn’t get around the castle on his own, his fathers hadn’t allowed him to properly explore the castle without someone else being with him and because his parents had been working he hadn’t done anything. He had already made friends with Fluffy the Cerberus, obviously because why wouldn’t he cause his parents more heart attacks, but now he found himself faced with a mountain troll, which surprisingly wasn’t trying to make friends. And Hadrian was wishing he had never disobeyed his daddy and left their quarters.

The mountain troll in question was about twelve feet in sixe and was towering over Hadrian as he curled into a ball, eyes tightly shut, just waiting for the trolls club to smash down onto him like he saw it doing before he shut his eyes.

“Daddy! DADDY!” He screamed, tears running down his face, snot dripping from his nose. “DADDY, IM SORRY! IM SORRY I LEFT THE ROOMS, PLEASE DON’T LET IT KILL ME.”

Luckily someone had heard his screams.

The Weasley twins had been setting up their latest prank when they heard the screams of the very clearly terrified voice of the resident Potion Master and Assistant Herbologist and Defence Professors youngest child. They were away that Lucius Malfoy was in the school for something other than teaching but it didn’t bother them. They had been curious about Hadrian ever since they first saw the boy in their feared Professors (read favourite professor) arms that summer in Diagon Alley. He was cute and clearly very Slytherin but he was intriguing. So they followed his screams.

As soon as they say the situation that young Hadrian was in they jumped into action. Between the pair of them, they knew they would be able to handle the troll until the teachers came, they just had to get Hadrian out and the teachers here first. Fred immediately began by distracting the troll, sending out stunning spells and defensive spells he could think of, he knew that trolls had magical resistant skin but it allowed George the opportunity to go and grab Hadrian and get him to safety whilst the troll was distracted.

George scooped the small boy up in his arms, despite knowing that he wouldn’t be able to do much to help his twin much until he got Hadrian out but he was probably safer in his arms than on the floor and in the way. George was also the most empathic of the twin boys, which meant that calming Hadrian down and getting him to grab the teachers would be a lot easier if George did it.

“Hadrian, hey little man, my names George. The boy over there, fighting the troll, he’s called Fred. How about we get you out of this bathroom hmm?” He said softly. Hadrian sobbed even more into his shoulder.

“We cant leave Freddie in here alone,” he sobbed, his breaths coming in large gasps. George smiled slightly at the little boy, who despite being absolutely terrified, didn’t want to leave his twin brother alone.

“I won’t be leaving him alone little one, im going to go and place in you in the corridor. You are then going to run as fast as you can to the great hall and get your Daddy and Papa okay? We will be fine, don’t worry about us okay? Just get your parents and any teachers to come down here okay?” Feeling Hadrian’s nod he manoeuvred himself around the fight and gently placed Hadrian on the ground. Hearing his brother scream behind him he ran back into the room yelling “RUN!” behind him.

So Hadrian did, he ran as fast as his little legs would let him. It felt like hours before he made it to the great hall, thankful he remembered the way, and slammed the doors opened, glad they were light, designed so that any student could open them no matter their strength. Everyone’s eyes turned to face the distraught little boy in the door way. Lucius, Severus and Draco all immediately sprinted out of the seats to Hadrian, causing a loud bang when Severus’ seat toppled over backwards in his rush.

“Daddy! Freddie and Georgie are fighting a troll.” He sobbed out, words barely coherent but Severus and Lucius understood. Severus scooped the boy up and gave him a quick squeeze before handing him off to Draco.

Using a sonorous he spoke to the great hall. “STUDENTS! STAY IN THE HALL, PREFECTS, KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR HOUSE, MISBEHAVIOUR CAN BE REPORTED TO A MEMBER OF STAFF AFTERWARDS. MINERVA, QUIRREL, LETS GO!” and in a much quieter voice, “Draco, look after your brother, we will be back.”

All four teachers sprinted out of the hall. Draco settled his little brother in his arms, feeling his collar go wet with his younger brothers tears. He quickly navigated back to the Slytherin table, where one of the prefects had transfigured him a comfortable chair for him and Hadrian to sit on. He nodded his thanks to the prefect before settling into the comfy chair with his brother on his lap.

“Did you see the troll Haddy?” He whispered. Hadrian nodded. “You’re a very brace boy coming to get Daddy and Papa aren’t you?”

“But I left Georgie and Freddie behind” Hadrian sobbed.

Draco continued softly muttering to his brother hoping to calm down. Silently thanking the Slytherins around them for giving them a bit of space, and providing him with a handkerchief to wipe his brothers nose, they all knew how much he hated snot, and also a blanket to wrap around him to keep them both warm. He was also vaguely aware of someone casting a spell around them an a few prefects to block the rest of the halls view of the young pair. Hadrian was in such a state, he didn’t need to be stared at by hundreds of students.

Eventually, after about half an hour Hadrian had calmed down, and Severus and Lucius finally came back into the hall with Fred and George Weasley in tow. Surprisingly, despite only being third years, they were not seriously injured and had managed to hold off the troll until the adults had got there. All four teachers had agreed that boy both had earned fifty points to Slytherin and Severus had given them each another ten points for saving Hadrian. Severus began to walk over, to relieve his eldest of his youngest but Hadrian had other plans. He sprinted past his Daddy, placing a bewildered look on the mans face, and launched himself into Fred’s arms. Fred held back a wince but happily allowed the boy to cuddle into him.

George placed his hand on Hadrian’s back and said “See I told you I wouldn’t allow him to be hurt didn’t I?” Both Hadrian and George knew that it wasn’t quite what he had said but Hadrian leaned over to hug him too before sliding down and gesturing for his Daddy to pick him up.

Both Severus and Lucius were worried about how much this would set their son back in terms of his healing but only time could tell.

“Hadrian what were you doing our of our  rooms?” Severus said sternly, his gaze softening when Hadrian burst into tears again. He shushed him and rocked him a bit before turning to the Headmaster who had finally come down from the Teachers table, Severus spoke first seeing Albus opening his mouth, “Me, Lucius and my sons will be retiring to our rooms now. If you want a report of what happened, ask Minerva, she was there too.”

The trio turned, Lucius gestured to Draco to follow them before all four headed down towards their quarters.

Draco signalled to Lucius to slow down a bit.

“Papa, will Hadrian be okay?”

Lucius looked down at his eldest son before slipping an arm round his shoulder and pulling him close.

“Only time will tell Dragon, he has been through a lot but hopefully he will bounce back. It was most likely a very traumatizing experience for him but he wasn’t injured. Your dad and me will probably keep him even closer to us for a bit, just too see if he will tell us what he goes through. It will be a bit like the start of term. I’m going to suggest to your dad tonight that we could maybe ask Andy to look after him during the days where we cant watch him so that hopefully an incident like today doesn’t happen again.”

But Papa, the incident today shouldn’t of happened. I thought Hogwarts wards didn’t allow things like trolls to come through?”

“Your right Draco, they shouldn’t be allowed through. Best believe that I that I will be getting together with the other Governors to discuss exactly how we had a troll end up in Hogwarts. Don’t worry yourself about it Draco, me and your father will make sure that you, Hadrian and all the other students at Hogwarts are safe.”
