Jealousy Jealousy

Hadrian could not hold back his tears when his daddies left the room and left him alone with his mother Narcissa and his godmother Andromeda. However it wasn’t because he was scared. No, he had to test Andromeda to see if she was anything like his mother. And she passed his test with flying colours. Not only did she comfort him but she allowed him to fall asleep on her lap and even questioned her sister as to why she didn’t help him. So now he knew she was safe. But that was not what was bothering him now.

He had woken up in his Daddy’s arms, he was not aware that he had been given over to him nor that he had slept peacefully in his Papa’s arms for at least half an hour either. But the overwhelming urge to cry swept over him and he just could not stop it. He loved his daddies, he really did, but when he had dreams like the one he just had, sometimes it was a little too much to wake up in their arms with them whispering endearments into his ears. So he did what any six year old would do. He struggled out of his daddy’s arms and he ran from the room without looking back, missing the look of sadness on his family’s face.

Hadrian heard the calls for him to come back and tell them what was wrong but he just couldn’t bring himself to turn back. He had wound himself up so much that he needed to be alone to calm down. Being near them would just make things worse. It did not help that his dream had felt so real but that was not going to help him now, not with what he was soon going to face.

Whilst running blindly, as the tears were streaming from his eyes blurring his vision, he did not realise that he had run into Narcissa’s private area in the manor. In fact he didn’t even know she had one, that’s how much the pair disliked each other. He had also not explored the whole of Malfoy Manor yet. But Hadrian was not worried about that, all he wanted to do was hide. So he found the nearest thing and hid under it. Little did he know that in the hurry to hide under whatever he was hid under, he had torn a small portion of it. One not noticeable by any one normal looking at it, but Narcissa was not anyone normal.

He had been hidden for nearly an hour before anyone came into the room. By this point he was nearing on exhaustion, his knees were stiff and his legs were cramping and he was regretting running away from his daddies now. So when he heard someone come into the room he crawled out of his hiding spot, assuming it was one of his father’s coming to find him. The noise the tear created when he moved echoed throughout the room. Not only that but the person who had come into the room was staring at him, Hadrian stared back, frozen in his spot. Hadrian stared in fear, Narcissa with hatred.

How dare this little boy come into her home, scream every time he was left alone with her and then play in her private area in the house, ripping her hard work. So she did what any ‘rational’ person from the Black family would do. She yelled out in fury, and then she hexed him. But it was her mistake, she used a curse that was only supposed to be used on adults, not children, so Hadrians screams of pain echoed throughout the house. But she did not care.

How dare he come into her household and steal her husbands and her son and then proceed to destroy something that had taken her a long time. It actually hadn’t taken her a long time at all but she was too blinded by rage to care. All she cared about was the fact that it was her work and he had ruined it. So now she would ruin him. It worked in her favour too that both Lucius and Severus had left the house to go look in the garden for the little whelp and Draco had left to go and visit his friends for the day. So it was just him and her. Her laughter and his painful screams. Oh how she had missed this, missed the sounds of pain she could create.

Unfortunately for Narcissa, her spell casting was cut short when an “EXPELLIARMUS” sounded from behind her followed by an “INCARCEROUS”. She felt her wand being snatched out of her hand and suddenly felt ropes surrounding her arms, forcing her to the ground. She laughed manically as she watched one husband stand in front of her with a wand in her face, the look of disgust broken through his pureblood mask, her other husband rushed towards their child, pulling out potions from his potions bag that he always kept on him, to stop the pain, the tremoring of his limbs and heal the cuts that littered his baby boys small body. She then watched as her husband scooped up the boy into his arms before walking over to the attached fire place and calling the ministry via the floo. The severity of her actions hit her hard.

“Severus! I’m your wife! You can’t call the aurors on me!” she cried out. She was startled at the look of disgust on both her husband’s faces. They had never looked at her like that before, she didn’t like it.

“You should of thought about that before you cursed our son!” Lucius spat out.

“He got what he deserved the little bastard. Ripping my project on purpose!”

“He was hiding because he was distraught! He did not purposely rip it! Me and Severus didn’t curse him for knocking over the potion that Severus spent thirty six hours brewing! He is a six year old child!” Lucius cried out before standing back to allow the aurors in.

“Right Lucius, Severus has filled us in on the situation, what can you tell us?”

“Severus and I were outside looking for Hadrian when we heard him screaming bloody murder so we ran to this room as quick as we could thinking someone was kidnapping him again. We ran into the room to find him curled up in a ball on the floor, covered in cuts and bruises and tremoring from whatever curses she had been throwing at him. Severus managed to get her wand before she cast another spell and I put the ropes on her. You can have my memories, I’m making sure this goes to the Wizengamot. I want her nowhere near my sons,” Lucius waited until the aurors had a hold of her before releasing the ropes holding her and moved to stand next to his husband, helping him to comfort their severely injured child, who was now unconscious.

“Kingsley, I want divorce papers sent here too.” That was his final word before he led both husband and child out of the room.

“Lucius, we will have to let Draco know when he gets home. I would prefer to tell him now but its not fair on him to ruin his day with his friends.” Severus sighed out. He loved Narcissa, but this was his child. A child who had just had returned to their family and nothing would ever take him away again, not whilst he was still alive. “And tell the board of Governors that you want a meeting, Hadrian will be at school with me, even if it’s the last thing I ever do.”

Lucius understood and showed Severus that he did, but he made no move to go towards the floo. Upon seeing Severus’ questioning gaze he responded with “’I’m not leaving Hadrian’s side either right now, the Governors can wait.”

And so the incomplete family moved to the living room where they huddled together on the sofa, soaking in the warmth of each other. Hadrian was moved so his unconscious body was resting with his head over Severus’ heart and his legs laid over Lucius’, so that when he woke up he would know he was safe. And within minutes both of his parents were asleep.

This was the scene that Draco found them in only a few hours later. He had decided not to stay at Blaise’s house like they had originally planned. He wanted to spend more time with Hadrian, knowing that his fathers were planning to leave him with his mother whilst they were at work. He was not expecting however to see his fathers and Haddy curled up on the sofa in front of the floo. It was half nine, which was way past Hadrian’s bed time and his father’s typically spent this time in their respective studies finishing off their work for the day.

Draco could not remember a time when his parents had ever slept on the sofa. Neither of them liked to be seen as vulnerable, even in their own home. Especially after Hadrian had been taken, they had even gone as far as warding their doors to only allow immediate family in when they slept so it was highly unusual to see them sleeping on the sofa.

Draco gently shook his Papa awake, knowing that if he woke up his father he would also wake  up Hadrian. It took a few seconds but eventually Lucius came back into the land of the living.

“Draco!” He exclaimed quietly, “I thought you wouldn’t be back till later!”

“I wanted to spend some more time with Hadrian before I go off to Hogwarts. I won’t be seeing him until Christmas otherwise.” Draco whispered back. “Why are you on the sofa?”

Lucius gently moved Hadrian’s legs off him, stiffening when the boy made movement but relaxing again when he settled down again. He stretched, feeling his bones popping from the position he had been in for the last few hours.

“We will need your father awake for this one.” He gently picked up Hadrian before handing him to Draco. “Why don’t you take Hadrian to his room and help him get changed into his pyjamas and then both of you come down and meet your father and I in the study? I will have a fire going for us, do you need any food?”

“Ok Papa, and I have eaten thank you. Mrs Zabini made sure I had some before I left.” Draco replied with a quiet laugh. Lucius shared the laugh with his son, knowing how overbearing the woman could be sometimes, but right now he was glad for it. He watched as both sons left the room before attempting to wake his husband. Surprisingly it didn’t take that long. Lucius was surprised he hadn’t needed to bring the water like he usually had too. Its why he sent his children out of the room, Severus would have been incredibly embarrassed to know that his children knew their papa had to pour water onto him to wake up and Lucius knew that if he had done It with the children in the room he would be in the dog house, possible for the next four years. Once Severus was fully awake, the pair walked towards the study for a conversation they both knew they couldn’t avoid, as much as they wanted too.
