The next few days
the princess was by no means guided through life, her parents were long gone and the high court showed complete apathy towards her even after a medical diagnosis explaining why shed be so ‘difficult’ in the past. Hell they used to “accidentally” lock the doors to the meetings where she was meant to be taught on how to rule, they were not fans of her ever since conception.
then there was Shelby. She was inadequately brave for how small she was in comparison, she never made kat feel alienated for struggling differently. And she didnt complain when Katherine spent all of free period complaining about how her guardians were trying to marry her off to a smaller kingdom for the 9th time that week, in pain, she wanted to be the one who Shelby wouldn’t complain about,
Shelby was the one who sat and listened to this romantic displacement wanting needing to be the one to fix it.
it was quite awkward when they met through a mutual homorotic relationship, the auburn girl left marks questioning whether boys were really for them, but they diverge. It was them against the world and the world against them.
it was directly after summer break, Katherine still hadn’t said anything after the incident,
the chauffeur had rudely told her to get out but she couldn’t, she couldn’t move as she connected the pieces.

panic Began to rise like burning bread, it was school of course but she hadn’t been to an actual school day since kindergarten-which she went home early on the first day crying her eyes out, never to return, homeschooled ever since.

The teacher Mrs.shadow asked her to introduce herself and sit down in her seat, it was extremely embarrassing when she didnt catch the request first time- of course her eyes were caught by a pulsing fluorescent strip light,
Katherine held her leather messenger bang low to the ground, “what?”,
”i said, please introduce yourself and take a seat” passively, Mrs.shadow had a rep of being the kind and friendly teacher, she was like a ball of sunshine, and she loved her husband too but wouldn’t name him, giggling under her breath
”uhm, hi my name is Katherine, I’m from Glimmer Grove,” she said, blank faced, then walking towards a chair left for her
”…okay thank you for that, today we are going to be covering material for your upcoming exams” a series of groans and whines echoed throughout the room.
”Shelby! This is the 3rd time you’ve been late!” She turned to the door “I threw a party once and everyone except my husband was late, did you know how it made me feel?” Before sighing, “just try to be on time okay?”
”yes miss” Shelby said trotting over right next to Katherine’s seat, turning beat red.
