Voice of the Heart
"Mommy, tell me a story!" The childish voice completely melted her resistance.
"Honey, it's past your bedtime." Red lips moved, while sweet purple eyes smiled at the small figure hidden in the pink covers. "Mommy came to say goodnight to you because she came back late from work."
"Please!" Then came the low blow.
She couldn't stand those blue and pink eyes tearing her resistence. The woman smiled and ran her hand through her long pink hair, before hugging the little girl and preparing to tell the long-awaited story. The shine of her wedding ring sweetly reminding her of the arms that she would soon be in.
"Okay, Erimi" The little girl celebrated warmly as she buried herself in her mother's arms, eliciting a laugh from the brown-haired woman.
Placing a kiss on the top of her daughter's head, Sumika smiled as the wave of memories invaded her mind. "I'll tell you how your mother and I met."
____________
"See you in Hollywood"
There was no physiology, there were no more bets, there was just... Sumika and Yumemite.
It was already the fifteenth time Yumemite had tried in vain not to replay the scene in her mind, it was getting harder and harder to calm her racing heart, time and time again her mind immersed her in her newly discovered confused feelings.
She could still vividly feel the heat radiating from Sumika's palm...
For a moment, in those long seconds, standing in front of each other, the young idol didn't see Kawaru Natari, she didn't see the actress who had stolen her attention since her youth, she saw Sumika Warakubami, the look filled with pain and deep feelings struck Yumemite much more than she would like to admit.
Seeing an actress through her unshakable physiological weapon would never have crossed her mind until now, defeated.
"The Warakubami family's specialty is entertainment, consequently acting..." Sumika's beautiful features fell darkly. "If you can't change your expression, you're worthless." Yumemite felt like Sumika was saying this more to herself than to her, as if she were an adult preaching to her child what is right or wrong.
Yumemite remained completely still, even with all her strength screaming for her palm to reach the actress's own.
"Unlike me, Yumemite" Her palm slid gently across the Japanese idol's damp face. "You have a continuous path of power, not a confusing and dangerous one."
The announcer's voice praising the winning duo and Yumeko were completely forgotten, but her red eyes understood that there was more there than the bet placed on the table.
Sumika smiled, but this time, genuinely, her heart almost breaking her ribs screaming yes. "I'll see you in Hollywood, Yumemite"
Before the actress walked away, Yumemite found strength where she had none, and rested her palm gently on top of the other woman's, trying at all costs to make the sadness in Sumika's purple gaze disappear.
The other woman didn't seem the least bit bothered, and, if possible, left her touch even more delicate on Yumemite's face. The warmth radiating from those beautiful blue stars was keeping her trapped for longer than Sumika would like to admit.
"I..." Her voice came out hoarse, probably because of the tears she had just shed.
Sumika took a deep breath, bringing her face closer to Yumemite's, brushing the side of her face against the idol's cheek, both women closing their eyes at the contact. "Yumemite." Her voice sounded softer than usual. "See me in an hour at the airport. My driver will pick you up." Then, she forced herself to pull away, her chest tearing every time her palm left Yumemite's.
Not only tears fell at that bet, but stars too.
_________
"Saori." Yumemeite hugged her, suddenly feeling like she was saying goodbye. "I'm going, but I'll be back soon." What was she saying goodbye to?
Her best friend adjusted her glasses and smiled gently, returning the idol's warm hug. Still with her face on Yumemite's shoulder, and a hug that was lasting too long, she let go of what was suffocating both women. "Why does this feel like a goodbye?" Yumemite held her in her arms. "I promise I'll come back, I would never leave you. I'll only say goodbye to someone else..." Her eyes stung, but the tears could be saved for her puff pillow. "Come back to me," Saori whispered, just before pulling away and watching her best friend walk away, until the limousine driver opened the vehicle door.
__________
On the way, for the first time, Yumemite didn't want to count the seconds, not even the thousand seconds until she found the one she admired with all her might. For some reason, her heart was sinking. There was no strong emotion of happiness when the rising actress met Sumika. There was a lack of air, as if a hole had been made in her chest every time she felt the path becoming shorter within reach of Warakubame.
Yumemite closed her eyes, wishing with all her might to freeze time as Sumika whispered sweet words into her young heart.
"Yumemite." She could smell it vividly through the other woman's brown locks. Her name being called so sweetly was like a mermaid calling her to drown, and Yumemite didn't care at all that she couldn't swim.
Her arms would be too busy holding the mermaid with the most enchanting song in the world.
As the limo came to a stop, Yumemite blinked as the increasingly heavy weight began to settle on her chest.
With the click of the door, the young woman smiled at the driver and thanked him for his kindness before moving on, quickly noticing the unusually empty airport compared to the days she had to pass through it herself.
Walking across the light tile, Yumemite spotted several men in black suits, almost desperately searching for a date who was anything but dark.
"Leave us alone." The voice was low, but with the silence of the airport, Yumemite could hear it from the entrance. Her eyes followed where the sound came from, and then, the stars turned into a melting sphere.
Ironically, the star falls, and like a meteor it is round.
Sumika was not far away, her palm had a phone, and the other rested gently on the handle of the silver suitcase next to her, while, to make Yumemite's torture worse, the beautiful navy blue dress embraced the other woman as her voice sang of her beautiful talent.
Purple eyes softly met the starry blue, and it was like the meeting of a narcissus with its reflection.
It was almost like a passionate kiss.
In a happier time, Yumemite could write a song with that phrase.
"Yumemite?" It wasn't Natari who was speaking, that sweet voice belonged to Sumika.
Yumemite didn't hesitate to walk towards the other woman, looking at her feet like she had in school, when shyness was her strong point, until she spotted the second pair, only with high heels. For some reason, she didn't want to look at Sumika's beautiful face at all, as if she were afraid of looking into the abyss, and he promptly looked back at her.
But she didn't need that feeling.
The palm that slid towards her chin sent all her doubts into space, and imprisoned her gift mercilessly in the beautiful lilac waters, where Yumemite had no choice but to melt completely at the slightest touch from the other woman.
This time, her palm covered the actress's gently, trembling for a reason far beyond nervousness.
Sumika seemed more than willing to drink in the scene more than any appreciable cocktail in the world, letting her fingers meet Yumemite's, while her other hand traveled from the young actress's chin to her cheek. Her fingers brushed every inch of skin until they rested on the same spot she forced herself to withdraw.
"Yumemite" She called out again, even though her voice was a hand's breadth away, it seemed farther away than her journey. So, she kept trying. "Yumemite"
Her eyes searched for the stars that God sent from the heavens, and drew in the eyes of the young woman who...
Not only stole her vows...
"Sumika..." Yumemite finally raised her eyes, finding herself instantly bathed in the actress's sweet lilac tide.
Sumika breathed deeply, feeling the scent of her young admirer invade all her senses. Closing her eyes, the actress sang the forbidden words.
But also her heart...
"Kiss me"
Yumemite didn't allow herself to understand the request, but her body obeyed, gently pressing her pink lips against Sumika's red ones.
The world stopped spinning, Yumemite's request was fulfilled far from his unconsciousness, in his present he embraced the chance that the idol would never have expected.
Red lips moved in sync with the pink ones, leaving a slight moan with the contact, soon Sumika let her arms embrace Yumemite's neck, deepening the kiss even more.
Now it was Yumemite's turn to moan, her hands finding the other woman's waist as her breath was taken away, once again, by the other woman's lips. The young woman embraced Sumika's slender body while the kiss seemed increasingly ambitious, wanting to tear the reserve from her lungs, feeding her heart hungry for the other woman.
Letting one arm snake around the idol's neck, with the other hand, Sumika led the kiss, letting her red lips merge with Yumemite's pink ones, moaning with her strong hands desperately bringing her waist closer.
Needing air, both women parted their lips, red and pink playing with which was more spread on each pair of lips. Sumika purred with apparent desperation for air, not stopping herself from leaving chaste kisses on her nose, then on her cheek. Yumemite found herself melting more and more into the affection exchanged there, hugging the other woman's body as if it were her anchor, until Sumika herself rested her face on her shoulder, while stroking the young gambler's locks, closing her eyes when she felt Yumemite inhale the scent of her hair.
For a few minutes, they just stood there, diving into each other's arms, enjoying the warmth felt by many, but enjoyed by few. Sumika knew that something changed inside her when she met her young admirer, and that was why, with that beautiful victory and how much Yumenite had matured, Bami could not help but say inspiring words to her.
Words that her heart insisted were not just to inspire her.
"No..." Yumemite murmured against the other woman's locks, bringing her body, if possible, closer to hers. "How can I stay and let you go?" Her voice came out too low at the end, and Sumika didn't like it at all.
"Yumemite" She whispered, kissing the idol's cheek, and then her lips. "I don't know" She pulled away, only to find beautiful watery blue eyes, again, crying because of her. "Long distance relationships are something that are for the few" She caressed the idol's cheek. "And yet I am a Bami, even in this banal family, they still remain intact with the idea that I follow my heart, continuing to walk a path so that I wouldn't die, it was always my goal"
"Yes, it was like that, until I met you" The brunette admitted, her face looking defeated, but inside her lilac irises, the glow was completely different from what Yumemite had seen. Resting her forehead against the young apprentice's, Sumika sighed, feeling the weight of her actions, and most likely, what they would go through from then on. "It won't be easy, but I'm willing to have this in the present, because I can't imagine my future without you anymore, Yumemite." The young woman with the ponytail let a tear fall, before hearing the loudspeaker announce that the plane was already waiting for the passengers, in this case, only the actress. Before Yumemite could have her heart broken, Sumika glued the pieces together with a passionate kiss, sliding her nails until they held both sides of the singer, savoring her last seconds until she had to leave.
After they parted, Yumemite looked sadly into the actress's eyes. "I'm asking you not to break my heart." As the words came out, Sumika's heart began to tear.
"I won't," Bami whispered in the singer's ear. "Because I would be breaking mine."
Knowing that she only had a few seconds, Yumemite sealed her lips in a chaste kiss full of longing that they would still feel, with her beloved Sumika returning it bitterly.
With those beautiful starry eyes, Yumemite took the most difficult step, with a painful peck. The young woman pulled away, blinking against the tears that had never been shed. The idol looked at the suitcase, then at Sumika, feeling all her strength drain away.
Sumika smiled, a smile that she didn't remember ever showing to anyone before. "Yumemite"
The young woman whispered tearfully.
"I'll see you in Hollywood, my love." With that, before her own heart could collapse, Sumika grabbed her suitcase and made her way to the plane.
Leaving the bags for the security guards, Sumika felt the tension fall from her expression. It was almost impossible to remain neutral when her heart felt like it was going to be ripped out of her chest. However, she had to keep going. She would try everything to keep their relationship a secret and still see each other somehow. She didn't know how, but she would try.
Taking a deep breath, Sumika made her way to the plane, but was stopped when she felt a gentle tug on her elbow. When she turned around, Yumemite pressed her lips against hers, destroying any coherent thought she had.
Sumika responded fervently, drowning in the pain that two famous people would have to go through for having a relationship, especially being a Bami. Needing air, they both pulled away, but Yumemite, with her bright smile and starry eyes, whispered. "See you in Hollywood, my sweet Sumika."
Sumika couldn't help but smile, almost like a silly child who got what she wanted so much. Resting her forehead against Yumemite, she traced her happy face, and kissed the tip of her nose, pulling away as their hands seemed to refuse to let go.
"It's a promise," Sumika whispered smiling, following the path down the aisle to the plane.
Through the window, she could see the young singer holding on with all her might to keep from falling apart at the sight of her idol.
I love you, Yumemite
