When Father is in Love
The Knave has been hanging out with Furina for some time now. She would mostly visit Furina at her place for an afternoon tea or just to visit to know her well-being. After getting comfortable with the Knave, Furina would be the one to ask for her company and would stroll around the city of fontaine.
One day, Arlecchino was out with her children at Café Letuce, discussing the plans for a fund raising program just near Poisson.
"My next show is just next week, I could advertise the plan after the show. Or we could come up with a trick that advertises it," recommended Lyney.
"Isn't it too much trouble..?" asked Lynette.
"I think it's a good idea. What do you think, Father?" asked Freminet.
Arlecchino stayed silent, staring at her cup of tea. Her legs crossed and her finger tapping simultaneously on the lips of the cup.
"Father?" called Freminet.
Arlecchino wakes up from her zone and looked at Freminet.
"Oh, yes?" she asked calmly.
"Lyney suggested that he would advertise the sweets selling after his show next week," Freminet explained.
"Oh. Of course. That is a good idea. But we could also have someone to walk in in the audience to stroll so that they have something to munch on while watching the show, no?" she suggested.
"Oh, right! And we could add some beverages too!" Added Lyney.
Arlecchino smiled at the excited Lyney.
The talking continues and so did Arlecchino's zoning out. After some time, the children finally took notice.
"Father, are you tired?" asked Lynette.
"Hm? Me? No. No, why do you ask?" replied Arlecchino.
The three looked at each other then to their Father. "Well, we've been talking here and we noticed that you've been... more silent than usual. Perhaps you're tired and need some rest? You may be a Harbinger but you still have a body to take care of." said Lynette in a bit worried tone.
Arlecchino now looks back. She have been zoning out for quite a few times. Whenever someone asks her something, she would be asking them what they were asking a about.
"No, no, I'm okay. There's nothing I can't handle. I have been just... thinking. Yes, that. Of something."
The three found it unusual. So Lyney asked. "About what, Father?"
"Something. Lyney." replied Arlecchino.
Then a familiar voice was heard from a distant. Followed by another familiar voice.
"Should we visit Natlan, Neuvillette?"
"Are you alright with the climate there, Lady Furina?"
Suddenly, Arlecchino's frowning lips turned upside down, and she turned to the direction of where the voices came from.
Then it hit the three children. "More like— thinking of someone, eh?~" whispered Lyney to his siblings.
Then Arlecchino frowned again to the sight of the hydro dragon. "Miss Furina is with Monsieur Neuvillette. I shouldn't interfere." thought Arlecchino.
"So Father, how about you leave this plan to us and you go think your way through how you are going to catch Miss Furina's attention more often," teased Lyney.
"What are you talking about?" asked Arle.
"I think it's obvious, right, Lynette, Freminet?" said Lyney.
"It quite is, Lyney." said Lynette.
"I— I don't get i—" Lyney shrugs Freminet. "O-oh! Yes. It is very obvious." said Freminet.
Arlecchino looked at her children. She was too obvious. She may good at hiding emotions, but not in this kind. Slowly, her cheeks starts to burn but her eyes remained the same. She narrowed her eyebrows as her heart start to pound. Finally, she stood up.
"W-well then! The plan goes how you like it. As long as the results are good, and so are you! I will take my leave. Be home by 7 for dinner !" she exclaimed nervously.
The two chuckled mischievously. While Freminet remained confused. "What is there to chuckle about, you two?" he asked.
"Oh, Freminet. You innocent one. Didn't you see? Father was all distracted the time we were talking. Then Miss Furina entered the picture. Father's mood immediately got lifted by the sight of her. Meaning Father might be feeling something for Miss Furina and she doesn't know about it yet!" explained Lyney.
"Wait— that's what you thought it was? I thought Father just missed Miss Furina and wanted another tea party with her." said Lynette.
"That's what I thought, too," added Freminet.
"What?! You two— ughh" sighed Lyney.
"Well then. We're gonna be doomed if Father starts asking us again to deliver her sweets at her place. Could you imagine how Father's letters are going to be?" groaned Lynette.
"Does it matter? We're going to have a second parent at this point! Two is always better than one!" exclaimed Lyney.
The other two just sighed at Lyney. "What?!"
