Chapter 6

"Can you get rid of the scars?" Hadrian questioned, sitting on a chair as the Narrator fiddled with his code.

"Unfortunately not, Darling." The Narrator spoke from behind him. His fingers glitched out for a second. "Unless you reset before they started to heal over, or your body was completely destroyed like with the countdown, there is nothing I can do about them."

Hadrian whined softly, scratching at the white spot that pulled taut along the inside of his elbow, and the words carved into his hand. The white tissue, a stark contrast to his tanned skin, itched uncomfortably and pulled at his flesh in a way that made him retch.

He laced his hands together and settled them in his lap, fingers twitching with the restrained urge to keep scratching at the unending itch. He was handed an ornate mirror, the Narrator pulling out of his no longer butchered code.

"There!" He was happy, eyes crinkling as he grinned over Hadrian's shoulder. "Good as new."
