Chapter 4

He paused, unsure of how to answer that. "Can I do something? I promise it won't hurt, but I may be able to find an answer to your question within your own mind."

 

The child sniffed, tensing slightly but nodded jerkily. "Go ahead, not like anything I've done has stopped people from entering my mind regardless."

 

That was mildly concerning, but he nodded gently. Suddenly inside the adolescent's mind, he started searching.

 

Pain, pain, fight, fight, pain, literal torture. Did this child ever get a break? No wonder they were so weary, so tired. It must be exhausting to forever be in grave danger.

 

Going back through their mind, now nearer the faded toddler-hood memories, The narrator noticed something. There was a barrier, locking off a part of their mind.

 

A shame that it was no match for a literal omnipotent being.

 

Passing through the barrier, what he found shocked him to his very core.
