Chapter 1

The night was dark and the air was thick with a sense of foreboding. Credence stood at the edge of the forest, his eyes vacant and his body still. He had been taken by Grindelwald, and now he was under the spell of the dark wizard. Grindelwald's will was his own, and he was obedient to the slightest command.

Credence knew what he had to do. He had been tasked with a mission, one that he could not fail. He had to enter the Ministry of Magic and retrieve a powerful artifact. It was a task that would require stealth and cunning, but Credence was confident that he could complete it.

He made his way through the streets, unnoticed by the Muggles who walked by him. His eyes were fixed on the entrance to the Ministry, and he felt the power of Grindelwald's spell coursing through his veins.

As he entered the building, Credence felt a sense of unease. The Ministry was a place of magic, but it was also a place of secrets and danger. He knew that he had to be careful, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was watching him.

He made his way to the artifact, his footsteps silent on the stone floor. He could feel Grindelwald's presence behind him, urging him on. His hands trembled as he reached for the artifact, but he knew that he had no choice. He had to complete his task.

Suddenly, a voice echoed through the halls. "Intruder! Stop him!"

Credence spun around, his heart racing. He saw a group of wizards and witches approaching, their wands at the ready. He knew that he was outnumbered, but he also knew that he couldn't let them stop him.

He raised his wand and unleashed a powerful spell. The wizards and witches were knocked back, their bodies slamming against the walls. Credence felt a surge of power, and he knew that he had the upper hand.

But then, he heard another voice. It was a voice that he recognized, a voice that he had feared since he was a child.

"Dumbledore," Grindelwald spat the name out like a curse. "You always have to ruin everything, don't you?"

Credence felt a sense of confusion wash over him. He didn't understand what was happening, but he knew that he had to obey Grindelwald.

He raised his wand again, ready to strike. But then, he saw Dumbledore. The old wizard was standing at the end of the hall, his eyes fixed on Credence.

"Credence," Dumbledore said softly. "You don't have to do this. You have a choice."

Credence's mind was in turmoil. He knew that he had to make a choice, but the spell that Grindelwald had placed on him was strong. He felt like he was being torn in two, between his desire to obey Grindelwald and the nagging feeling that he needed to escape.

With a sudden burst of willpower, Credence tried to fight the spell. He gritted his teeth and closed his eyes, struggling against the invisible force that was controlling him.

But it was like trying to swim against a strong current. No matter how hard he fought, the spell only seemed to grow stronger. Credence felt a sense of despair wash over him. It was like he was trapped in his own mind, unable to escape.

Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his head. It was like someone was digging a knife into his brain, and Credence cried out in agony. The pain was so intense that he thought he was going to pass out.

But then, as suddenly as it had begun, the pain stopped. Credence opened his eyes, feeling disoriented and confused. He looked around and realized that he was standing in the middle of a forest, with no idea how he had gotten there.

As he tried to piece together what had happened, Credence realized that he had broken free from Grindelwald's spell. He didn't know how he had done it, but he felt a sense of relief wash over him.
