He walked into the bar with one thought on his mind, a stiff drink. It'd been a hell of a day and all he wanted was to unwind and get drunk. Immediately his attention was on the lone woman dancing in the corner by herself. It was unusual for anyone to be dancing in the Three Broomsticks. It wasn't exactly that type of establishment. However, what caught his attention wasn't that but the ass swaying side to side provocatively. He'd know that ass anywhere. He'd certainly spent enough time checking it out.
Sliding up behind her, he set his hands on her waist and moved his hips along with hers. The sultry beat of the music guided their bodies in a rhythm that was intimate and close. The world faded away and for just a moment she was in his arms and his. She lifted her arm around the back of his neck and sighed his name "Sirius." His grip tightened on her hips, and he smiled into her neck.
"Executioner style, and there won't be no trial. Don't you know that you're better off dead."
"You know Kitten, for all of the evocative and eroticism of this tune these words sure are morbid."
She let out a laugh and leaned her head against his chest before turning around and slipping her hands around his shoulders. "Fitting for the night I'm afraid."
"What happened Hermione?" Sirius's arms tightened around her, drawing her even closer, not that it was possible.
"Ron," was all she said. His hands clenched her hips and his gut rolled with anger. What did that fuckwit do now? He put his finger under her chin and brought her face up so their eyes met.
"Tell me."
"I came home early to surprise him and found him in bed with some blonde bimbo." The anger in Sirius's gut rolled and it took all of his self-control not to turn around and go find the asshole.
As the song ended Hermione squeezed his bicep. "I'm just going to go get a room upstairs. I'll figure out what to do about living arrangements tomorrow." Sirius gripped her waist to stop her from pulling away from him. He tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear, a tender look on his face.
"That isn't going to happen, Love. You should know by now you always have a place with me." She gave him a half smile.
"I wouldn't want to impose."
"Never. I will always take care of you. And you know that I have more than enough room." Hermione nods her acceptance and Sirius places his hand on the small of her back, guiding her to the door to apparate to Grimauld place. He shares a nod with Madam Rosmarta on the way out.
With a pop the two appear on the doorstep of number twelve. Sirius guides her into the drawing room and sits her on the couch. He waves his wand sending off a patronus to Harry. "Hermione is safe. She is with me. After what he did to her, I wouldn't let him near her tonight."
Grabbing two tumblers and a bottle of firewhisky, Sirius joined her on the couch. Hermione took the proffered drink and downed it in one go, choking slightly with the burn. "Easy there, Kitten. We have all night to get drunk." Hermione laughed and held out her glass for a refill.
"Do you remember the night we met?"
"How could I forget? You saved my life."
She shrugged, "You were innocent..." Conversation flowed between the two, almost as fast as the drinks were downed.
"I've always wanted to do something meaningful with my life, not just Ministry bureaucracy..."
"The search for something to fill my time hasn't been going well, myself..."
"Crookshanks! I left him!"
"My childhood was the stuff of horrors, but I think I turned out alright in the end..."
"If you could travel anywhere in the world?"
"The nightmares still get me from time to time..."
"What would you do to save the world?"
"Bringing you back was the best thing I have ever done."
"I don't want to waste this second chance you have given me."
"I love you Sirius Black."
"Oh Baby, you can't say stuff like that to me." As the conversation had gone on the two on the couch had gotten closer together until they were laying spooned with his head propped on the arm of the couch and her head resting on his chest. The bottle of firewhiskey was gone and their words slurred. Sirius wondered if she would remember this conversation in the morning.
"Why?" she mumbled.
"Because I'm never going to let you go now."
