Chapter 1

I was a Lestrange sorted into Ravenclaw. That definitely wasn’t good. I mean it happened before to some family members but my mom was still furious. After all, I was supposed to be a Slytherin.
I at least made slytherin friends like my parents wanted.
First I started talking to the younger Black, Regulus. I saw him walking to a class and talked to him. First he showed me away, but when I came to him in the library we started having real conversations and ended up meeting there every day to study together. One day when a girl- who I later found out was Dorcas Meadows- came to us and talked with us. We soon became friends, and then Reg’s other two friends Evan Rosier and Barty Chrouch Jr. joined our little group. In no time I was always in the slytherin common room and wearing slytherin ties.

Now, four years later it really is everyday that I am in their common room, and other slytherins became okay with that. I mean how can you stand in the way of the Black heir? If he says that I can be there then you must be okay with it. Many people who don't know him well, think that he is really strong. That is of course true. You must be strong if you want to survive in The Nobel House Of Black. He is probably the strongest person I know. Reg is really strong in front of everyone, but I think that I might see him even stronger because he cries on my shoulder.
I always found people who were able to tell me why they are sad and things like that really strong. Probably because I was never strong enough to do it.
To most people I seem open. Yes, I tell people things, just not everything.

Right now, I'm sitting on Reg's bed, Dorcas lying on Evans' bed, because he is lying on Barty's bed, with his head in Barty's lap, Barty playing with Evans's blonde hair.
“I bet he has a secret girlfriend,” says Dorcas. Regulus is not with us again, and we want to know where he is and what he's doing, but he doesn't want to tell us.
“Yeah, obviously,” remarks Barty. We already figured out that he must be seeing someone.
“But who is it?” groaned Dorcas again.
“It's probably someone from some other house, I mean if she were from slytherin he would tell us.”
“Maybe she's a gryffindor?” said Dorcas.
“Yeah, maybe.”
“Or she's a mud or halfblood,” through Evan out loud.
“Yea, maybe,” I said.
At this moment Regulus walked in.
“Hey Reg,” I said.
Another “hi,” from Dorcas.
“Hi,” signed Reg. He looked somehow more tired and more alive at once. Maybe that's what love does.
“Oi Regulus,” said Barty, “who were you with? You know you'll have to tell us someday.”
Reg just shook his head.
“Oh, come on, tell us who's the lucky girl,” teased Evan.
“There is no lucky girl,” said Regulus, clearly annoyed.
“Oh, sorry,” said Evan sarcastically.
“So about the match,” talked Regulus on, clearly trying to switch the theme.
“Oh please, we all know we'll win. Hufflepuffs aren't really good and we are amazing,” said Barty.
They were all on quidditch team, Reg being seeker, Barty beater, Evan chaser and Dorcas keeper.
“Of course, but after that, there's a match against Gryffindor and they're good,” said Reg.
“Oh please, we are better,” said Dorcas.
“I didn't say we weren't.”
I drifted off at this point of conversation. I'm not really interested in quidditch. But there is a person from Gryffindor that I fancy. And that person is muggleborn. That person is a girl.
I've never really thought about love before, and the girl I like is probably just a little crush.
I often see her in the library, while she's studying. She is easy to notice, as she has a lot of pretty ginger hair.
I later learned that her name is Lily Evans.
I know that someone like her would never like someone like me. Especially when she has the sun obsessed with her.
The sun is of course James Potter. James Potter, the golden boy. The person who everyone liked. The person who made everyone happy.
What am I against him?
I think that Lily never said yes to any of his proposals or dates, but I'm not sure. She might have.
I suppose that I should wish for her to say no to James, but honestly, I just want her to be happy.

I am in the library, doing transfiguration homework. Lily is sitting a few desks further away. She looks so pretty.
I always wonder if I should talk to her. I never do. I don’t know why. I want to, really, but I’m also afraid.
“Doraaaa” came in Dorcas.
“Cas,” I said almost politely, because we always did that. She came to me really excited and I just answered calmly and politely, “have the boys killed anyone?”
“No, no, much more important,” went on Dorcas. She left there a dramatic pause, and then said “Marlene flirted with me!”
Marlene. Marlene McKinnon. Dorcas's crush for the last few months. Boys don't know that Dorcas is into girls, but she told me.
I saw Lily look at us when Dorcas mentioned Marlene.
“Yea, I think that she might also like me!”
Lily was still looking at us, and Dorcas noticed it now, “why are you staring?” she said sharply.
“Are you talking about Marlene McKinnon?” asked Lily.
“That's none of your business,” answered Dorcas, “And why do you care anyway.”
“Well she is my best friend.”
“Oh yea?” Dorcas suddenly sounded interested.
“Yea,” answered Lily,” and you are Dorcas right?”
“Yes,” said Dorcas, clearly excited as she went to Lily´s table and sat down. “Has Marlene ever mentioned me?”
“She did in fact.” Answered Lily politely, like she was making some kind of deal.
She looked at me and gestured to me to sit down.
When I did she smiled at me. Lily smiled at me. Lily Evans smiled at me. Wow.
“What did she say?” asked Dorcas impatiently.
“What’s your name?” asked Lily, who was by some miracle still looking at me.
“Pandora,” I answered
She nodded and then turned back to Cas. “Do you like her?” she asked.
“Of course I do!” almost shouted Dorcas.
“But will you take good care of her?”
“Yes, yes of course,” said Cas, “You know not all slytherins are bad, like Pandora is a ravenclaw but she still hangs out with us, as we aren’t bad.”
“That’s true, Dorcas is really amazing,” I said.
Lily just looked from me to Dorcas, and then back again. Then she started laughing.
“Sorry, sorry,” she somehow managed to say while laughing. “I have been acting so polite, it’s so weird, but I see that you guys are nice, so let me be real.
“Dorcas, tell Marls you like her,” as she said this Dorcas had a look on her face that was something between shocked and happy.
“Wait, does that mean she likes me?”
“I mean, she never told us anything about that, but she’s been talking a lot about you lately, and she is into girls so probably,” answered Lily.
I caught myself looking at her mouth, so I quickly looked into her eyes. She had green eyes. They were the prettiest I’ve ever seen.
I was so excited that I was actually having a conversation with her, that I started playing with the crystal I had in my pocket.
“Okay, I'm going to talk to her. Gryffindors just finished quidditch practice so I can wait for her in front of the changing rooms. Yes, I'll do that…” talked Cas standing up and picking her back from the floor.
“Bye,” said Lily.
“Bye,” answered Cas. “Wish me luck.”
“Good luck.”
And Dorcas almost ran from the library. I stood up, but Lily pulled my wrist.
“Stay here a bit, i already finished charms homework so we can just talk for a bit.”
Wow. I mean wow. Like Lily Evans just said that we can talk.
“Okay,” I answered.
We were quiet for a bit but then she said, “I like your cardigan.”
“Thanks,” I answered. It was my favorite one. “I like your shirt.”
She smiled at me.
“You're a year under me right?” she asked. When I nodded she continued. “I am ahead on most subjects so if you need help with anything tell me.”
She is so nice.
“Thank you,” I said. When she continued looking at me I said. “Well, there is this thing at positions that i just can't figure out-”
“Oh, I'm amazing at potions.”
She smiled at me and I smiled back.
We spent the next hour looking at my potions book. She explained everything to me and now I actually understand it, which is amazing. But not nearly as amazing as hanging out with Lily Evans.
