Harry/Bucky Barnes
“This is it,” Harry whispered.
“This is it,” Bucky echoed solemnly.
The two of them stood there together, hands clasped, and Harry didn’t have anywhere else he’d rather be.
“How do you feel?” Bucky asked.
“Scared,” Harry admitted.
He knew it was what he wanted, it all just worked out so perfectly, but he’d be a liar if he wasn’t scared.
“Whenever you’re ready,” Bucky said with a soft smile and blue eyes as full of love as Harry’s heart felt.
Harry took a deep breath and rolled his neck.
“A quick kiss?” Harry asked, only stalling a little. Bucky obliged him anyway as he bent down and their lips fit together like they’d been made for one another.
Harry didn’t know it until he found Bucky, but sometimes the grass was always green.
“This is it,” Harry said once more after they broke apart.
“No more disappearing,” Bucky winked at Harry, referring to all the times Harry had balked on their plan.
“On three?”
“One… two…”
“THREE!” Harry screamed.
He and Bucky jumped from the edge of the helicopter, hands still clasped tightly, and both whooped with exhilaration as they flew toward the ground.
Bucky was right, as usual, sky diving was more brilliant than flying by far.
