Tonks/Fleur

Mum always called her a tom boy-

“My little tom boy,” she would laugh when Tonks came inside from playing, covered in dirt with a pocket full of worms.

‘Gay’ was what Tonks was called by her classmates when she went to primary in the village.

“You’re gay!” The boys would say scornfully when Tonks out raced all of them on the playground.

“Eww! You’re a lesbo!” The girls in Tonks’ class giggled in their pink dresses at Tonks’ short blue hair and Tonks’ shoulders curled in some.

“Mum… am I a lesbo?” Tonks asked her Mum tearfully after school.

Mum bristled and immediately pulled Tonks in a warm hug. “Baby, my brilliant little star, you are who you are. Who needs labels, baby?”

“If anyone gives you a hard time about who you are or who you love one day, kick their arse,” Dad winked, causing Mum to scowl and Tonks to giggle.

When Tonks started Hogwarts, she hung out with the boys and eventually they started noticing girls all together.

“Are you gay?” Charlie Weasley asked curiously after Tonks walked in a tree when Ashley Holiday walked by in a skirt that made her arse pop.

“I’m… I’m Tonks,” Tonks said with a shrug.

“Duh,” Charlie grinned.

Tonks was who she was, she didn’t need labels to know some days she felt more masculine than others and some days she wanted to have long blonde hair and ‘kissable lips’.

Mum was always Tonks’ best supporter. She didn’t bat an eye when Tonks one day brought Ashley over for dinner. She didn’t say anything when it was Michael six months later, a fellow auror in her class.

And when Tonks met the love of her life, the woman that she knew she was going to marry, Mum was so happy.

“She’s good to you, baby?” she asked on Tonks’ wedding day.

Tonks nodded. “Mum, she- she accepts me.”

“I knew you would find her.”

When Nymphadora Tonks married Fleur Delacour in front of all their family and friends, Tonks didn’t know who cried more- Andromeda Tonks or Bill Weasley.
