That had been his promise.

The words echoed around Regulas' head. They pounded in his ears until it felt like someone was smacking him around with a war hammer.
I won't ever leave you.
If asked, Regulas would have come with him. He would have left the safety of following his parents.
He wasn't asked though.
I won't ever leave you.
Regulas stared after the fleeing raven haired boy. Sirius didn't even look back, his feet slapping the pavement like a coward rather than the brave Gryffindor he was supposed to be.

Regulas watched till Sirius rounded the corner. That was when he felt his heart break.
