It wasn't fancy. But with Flynn, it didn't have to be. It could just be us. I could just lay on his lap, his fingers in my hair as we star gazed.
It had always been perfect with Flynn. When we were just sitting and he would pull pieces of grass up and play with them in his hands. When Flynn would pick up a random flower and stick it in the brim of my beanie. When he exclaimed that he had to paint that big rock. I don't know how I ever ended up so lucky. I smiled at the boys whose lap I was on, knowing my ears, if he cared to look, would be a dark purple. But it didn't matter. Not if I had my perfect boyfriend with me for our midnight picnic.
