Keefe was dangerous. Stupid. And entirely in love. It didn't matter what the Mysterious Miss F did. He adored it.
He knew he was playing with fire. With his mom being who she was and all her evil plans, he should leave Sophie alone. Run far away. Protect her by disappearing. By not being there.
But fire had always had a certain beauty. The way it flickered, danced in the air. It entranced him.
If Sophie asked him to keep away, he'd do it in a heartbeat. But until she did...Keefe was content to watch the embers fall in her wake. To let it all burn.
