Barbara didn’t know how she would deal with the loss of her mother and what already felt like the loss of her father. She knew she shouldn’t blame him for shutting down when she had died, but she couldn’t help but be angry. Luna seemed to be doing better, but she was so young and she didn’t understand this as well as Barb did. But she was able to pull their father out of his dazed stupor more often than not, and sometimes it almost felt like he was fully with them again. She would give anything for him to remain like he was in those moments, and as they grew older Luna got better at dealing with everything. And Barbara finally came out of her shell. Things would be better, eventually.
